  1. remember that I can't tolerate anything fatty (it triggers gallbladder attacks), heavy, or vegetables or fruits except for those 3 veggies that I mentioned above (the rest flare up the mystery IBD). I will find out how they test for nut allergies, since they were not an option at these allergy tests. Pretty sure I have issues with them, too, seeing how...
  2. I'm as strict as they come when it's gluten-free. I am so sensitive that literally 1 crumb will make me sick from glutening for about a week. So i am very, very picky and very, very careful. I was off all forms of antihistamines for 6 weeks before having these tests done. To make sure that all of my daily medication was safe I even asked them one by...
  3. I know that there is a lot of you on here who ended up developing multiple food allergies, but i just had the injection-type tests done on Monday and today, and the results are overwhelming...this was everything I tested positive for: moulds/pollens/fungi/animal danders: alternaria, cephalosporium, helminthosporium, hormodendrum, pollularia, house...
  4. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

    ARCHIVED Ercp

I'm waiting to hear back when I go for an ERCP, which my specialist said should be in about a month. The reason he wants to do one is to look thoroughly at the gallbladder (since I'm still getting attacks, but have no stones). Also, what concerns me, is that my MRI (for the gallbladder) showed that I have some cysts on my liver Should I be concerned...
  6. I honestly did not get the chance to go in today. So I will tomorrow... I've been peeing in the collection pan and earlier this afternoon it looked like someone sprinkled fine-grained sand into it. Just now I spotted some of the 'sand' again, plus a tiny brown blob that looked hairy (but big enough to notice). I've also been having some serious nausea and...
  7. Yeah I must also chime in here that I am scarily sensitive to gluten that sometimes I swear just some particles in the air, or one or 2 crumbs touching that I eat, is enough to trigger a reaction. Even with that fact, I have never, ever had a problem with Kraft. If I buy any bbq sauces or salad dressings, etc I also make sure its made by them and only them...
  8. I also agree with the thyroid thing. I had extremely low results for thyroid, and was always frozen and had that brainfog effect, major fatigue, etc. Since then I've been on Synthroid for the Hypothyroidism and it has been a big help! Let us know if you get it figured out =)
  9. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to place this under, but I'm pretty worried right now. It started Saturday afternoon, randomly got jabbing pains in the mid-stomach/back, slightly lower than the gall bladder. Then the pains disappeared, and I noticed a lot of garbage in my pee. I had a similar attack yesterday (Sunday), again the sharp pains, followed...
  10. The donuts!! (though I admit--I enjoy the tiny ones, you can at least eat the whole thing without feeling stuffed!) The thing that's bothered me the most about them is when the Canadian dollar was above the U.S. dollar, they raised all of the prices, but now that our dollar is much weaker they've kept the costs insanely high instead of lowering them...
  11. I myself and 2 former members of this forum could argue the point that Celiac triggered gallbladder problems after being gluten-free. Its what the others lived through, and what I am currently suffering with. So can't say that gluten-free helps when my diet is the same both before and after severe gallbladder problems...
  12. My hypothyroidism still likes to act up on me. I randomly get 'attacks' where I can FEEL my thyroid gland is swollen, but when i get bloodwork done and such (and go to ER) everything comes back completely normal. I haven't had an attack like that in awhile though. But if its out of whack I usually sleep more. If the undiagnosed Crohn's or whatever is acting...
  13. So here's a bit of an update: I have had a constant headache and nausea (no joke) since being on that medication (and its already been almost 2 weeks on it). I remember he said start the first week on one, then go to 2 pills a night. Should I do it??
  14. Man do I ever feel that hangover from that pill...I woke up with a pounding head, super dizzy, and wanting to puke. I'm still sooooo dizzy. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has had problems with a rheumatologist. I wish there was more options, really, but you do need to be referred to see one, and it seems like this is the one in the city I'm going...
  15. UGH SO FRUSTRATING! Okay so first he asks me to give all of the details of where I'm feeling pains and such. Asks any other conditions I have...then he presses on the joints and can see they are touchy everywhere. But that's when the appointment went south... He gave me a prescription for Amitriptyline 10mg, which apparently an anti-depressant but...
  16. Thank you...like I said, this is the first time in a longgg time I've had gluten-filled cravings. Someone said the word "blizzard" and I thought of the icecream treats, and then they said the word "flakes" and I thought of cereal. That's how bad it is! I'm afraid of buying coffee in the morning, ahhh! When I see donuts or other goodies...
  17. Well I have discovered this week that thanks to some extreme stress and being super upset, it was enough to trigger Celiac off---along with a major migraine that's lasted me for the last 5 days. Definitely worse than a headache. Headaches do not make me sensitive to light. Now tonight, for some WEIRD reason, something inside of me snapped. I was sitting...
  18. I've been on Dapsone for a few years already (don't remember the exact time that I started). Always been on a 50 mg dose (half a tablet). And the few times that I've ran out of my prescription I've noticed it flare up as if I'd been glutened! Otherwise it definitely helps control all of the symptoms (as long as I'm not glutened).
  19. Just to chime in to an interesting point: I didn't get hypothyroidism until June/07...and got Celiac in January/03. I've been on Synthroid ever since being diagnosed, and they've never had to alter my dosage level (thankfully!). I'm still always having the symptoms though....

    ARCHIVED Ugh!

For me it's not tolerating the fiber in them...I think. In any form of nuts or seeds, even gluten-free, I start getting some serious cramps if I eat more than a handful or 2!
  21. Can't believe it...took me 3 days to tolerate anything at all in my stomach after that glutening earlier in the week. Ugh. Stomach pain is sstill BAD!! For some reason the DH breakout is maybe the worst its ever been. It's taking over my foot...and driving me nuts. The hands are bad enough, at least those I can scratch if I'm sitting in class or something...
  22. It never fails to amaze any of us what gluten is hidden in!! Always gives people a look of shock on their faces when we say what we have to avoid... Ahh I'm going nuts. This recent glutening has moved into the severe pain phase. I have to wake up in 5 1/2 hours (cannot miss this class) but I'm sitting up because my side...OW!!
  23. This was an older package (all of mine are). I can't readily go shop for food when I need it, so I always stock up. I checked the website though and it says "mushroom" is gluten-free... I'm with you, dilettantesteph. I'm super sensative and this is one of the companies I've trusted. I wish that I had known in advance somehow....problem is to report...
  24. I wonder the same thing... i know on the American list I seen that it is safe, but I'm always nervous about taking it here in Canada because I'm not sure. Does anyone know if its 100% safe in Canada?
  25. That's amazing about giving you meal options and the gluten-free room!! That must be a nice feeling . The one time I asked them to help find me something to eat I ended up glutened. It was for the first orientation, and I asked the main food person of the university what options I have. She had phoned the kitchen to send over a salad with strict instructions...
