  1. Hi Sparrow, I was already phasing sugar out for a while befor going gluten free. I had been drinking sugar free drinks for a couple of years and decided a month after goin gluten-free to try a coke just for the heck of it. I would say about 2 oz's of it. Bam, got me good. Then 2 days later tried it again. Same thing. Then got to wondering about it and tried...
  2. Hi Sparrow, I have what I call a sugar sensitivity. Found that out after being gluten-free for about a month. My symptoms are very sluggish to the point of feeling like I am about to collapse. Very sleepy to where I need to take about a 2 hour nap. Body sometimes feels like it's trying to go totally numb.
  3. I have had dark circles all my life and I am hoping that after a couple of years they will go away. I've only been gluten free for almost six months now and to me they seem to be getting lighter or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. But I do know that if I get severely glutened they are darker the next day.
  4. If it was a rotisserie chicken, it's a possibility it may have had wheat flour in it. I know some of Wal-mart's rotisserie chickens have it. Then again you had some Ice cream. Were you able to see the ingredients for that? Some ice cream has barley malt. And then again it may be a delayed reaction. Hang in there, i'm sure you will work it out. I know...
  5. We will be in Laredo tomorrow and need a store that carries gluten free products. Can anybody tell me where one is? Thanks
  6. Just for a little while hopefully, until your insides have healed. The itching in your mouth sounds like possible potato problems. Oh man, when I eat potatoes or tomatoes now I get the itchies so bad across my shoulder blades. I try scrating my back against a corner. My sweetie starts laughing at me because he'll tell me I remind him of an ol bear scratching...
  7. I have a problem with nightshade vegetables and yes they will aggravate your symptoms and cause a lot of joint pain. I would recomend dropping them for a month and see what happens and my leg jerks went away when I got rid of the nightshades.
  8. Hi Rosenberg, Welcome to the place. I understand what your're going through definetly. 38 years of off and on diareha, stomach cramps so bad doubled over and not being able to breathe. Pain all over, depression, anxiety out the wazoo. Insomnia, maybe get 2 to 3 hours sleep a night. When I was a kid and cried to my parents about it, my dad would just...
  9. Hi thomas, It sounds a lot like gluten intollerance at least. Plus you may have other food intollerances as well. I started being sick around age 7 and I didn't find out until a year ago, at 44 that I had a gluten problem as well as other food intolerances. On top of fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. All the dr's would tell me was depression and anxiety...
  10. Sorry Sparky, No more gluten for you.
  11. MSG does not have gluten in it but a lot of people are sensitive/allergic to it. I get heart palpatations and feel like i am about to pass out and get a really weak feeling.
  12. Flourgirl, I am or I should say I WAS 75 lbs overweight. I had your symptoms plus manny more. I have been in pain and just downright miserable since I was 7 years old. Dr's all told me it was IBS, and/or it's all in my head. Didn't conform to the dr's point of view for celiac. I also have fibromyalgia and rhuematoid arthritis. I said to heck with them...
  13. You know Nasalady, yes, that is very interesting indeed. My father was an alcoholic also. As far back as I can remember he always had stomach problems especially after eating, big D big time. Several other family members are alcoholics. He passed away in 01 of colon cancer. I am also thinking of my mother's side of the family who were alcoholics and passed...
  14. Hi There, You sound a lot like me. Have always been in pain sice I can remember. No BM's for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. I can remember when I was 7 my mother and grandmother trying to give me an enema. Me fighting all the way. I have been 200 lbs since I was 14 and I am 5 ft. 2 in. Never able to lose weight until I got pregnant then I lost most of it then...
  15. Hi Ellie11, Yes maam, I have a problem with nightshade vegetables. Have always had a problem with bell peppers. Stomach pain very bad, jalapeno peppers and paprika give me bloating and D bad. Potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant cause my joints to hurt really bad as well as extreme fatigue. Baked potatoes are my favorite food. I would eat at least 4 to ...

Hi Oggie, I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. I don't have the vomiting you do but every once in a great while when I eat something i'm not supposed to. You probably already know this if so just ignore. My questions are. Have you checked your meds for gluten, your shampoos, your makeup, lotions? In my opinion sounds like you are getting...
  18. Tiadhani, I have had the same kind of symptoms you describe and diareha also. A am also overweight. I am 5 ft 2 and weighed in at 205 lbs. Have been that weight for nearly 20 years. Couldn't lose weight no matter what I tried. Have been gluten free for almost 5 months and have lost 30 lbs with out even trying. My fibro and RA have gone into remission...
  19. Hi Megan, I would say you have a problem with nuts so quit them. I get glutened with rotissire chicken. I would start the elimination diet and keep a food diary of everything you eat and drink for about say 2 weeks. That is nothing but whole foods like fish, chicken, meat, veggies, nothing processed. Take out all dairy, soy, eggs, etc. Add 1 food back...
  20. Hi there, If you have been gluten free say for a few months then the tests will be negative. You have to eat equivelent of 2 pieces of bread per day for at least 6 weeks or longer to get a positive blood test. Whether you have full blown celiac or gluten intolerance the brain fog is from the gluten. I call it zoning out. There have been times I have zoned...
  21. Hi Megan, You sound to me like you have other food intolerances. Main ones are soy, nuts, eggs, etc. Also, you may not think so but you might also be having cross contamination issues also. Do you share a gluten kitchen or gluten free? Have you replaced your teflon pans, cutting boards and any wooden utensils? Have you checked your shampoo, lotions and...
  22. Hi Chalula, I have a sensitivity to sugar, yes, you could be reacting to it. I get the same symptoms you do plus heavy, debilitating fatigue as well. Try to find something that has just sugar in it and try it and see. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
  23. Hi Kaki, If your biopsy was positive then you are definitly celiac no matter what your blood tests says. As for your boyfriend. I'm sorry to say if he got cross with you explaining about your tacos touching then he really will have a problem with other issues. Yes, people will give you a hard time because it is so missunderstood. Try to be patient with...
  24. I start drinking water, it seems to help me, then if possible I go lie down and try to go to sleep with a heating pad on my tummy.
  25. As far as potatoes go, they are gluten free but some of us have a problem with them. Like me, I have a problem with all nightshade vegetables, which are potatoes, tomatoes, all peppers from bell peppers, jalapenos, to black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, etc, eggplant and okra. I eat anything with these in the ingredients, My symptoms will range from...
