  1. You mean if I didn't have Celiac and could eat it with no problems? Of course I'd have it. Its hard for me to believe people that say they wouldn't!!! I have been gluten-free for almost 10 years and I too look at gluten food and know it makes me sick however if I "knew" it would not do so I'd eat it occasionally. I do agree with the poster above who...
  2. I have Celiac, eosinophilic gastroenteritis and a ton of food allergies. I was not diagnosed with Celiac until I was in my mid 40's but had GI problems for a good 10 + years prior, so that may have contributed to my other problems. Susan
  3. I have a totally gluten-free house, even with guests. There are tons of gluten-free options that will satisfy any gluten eating person. Just say I have a disease and I have found the only way I can stay healthy is if I keep my home gluten-free. I resisted that for about 4 years but never felt 100% so made the change and I feel a lot better. Its your...
  4. Ok I've been gluten-free for many years and am having very few issues food wise. After having a lot of hair loss and skin rashes I'm finally going gluten-free on all external products. I've read here that Gariner, sauve and dove hair products label clearly. Any others that you recommend for very dry hair? Lastly I've used La Mer face lotions for...
  5. Thanks all, I'm going to check out that web site because I know I have the symptoms of a thyroid problem however I have been tested for it every single year and I'm always told (by two different doctors) that its fine and that the levels are well within normal. I've always had dry skin, even before I had thinning hair, I had it in my 20's! Susan
  6. Oh lastly,.... I forgot to add, I've used very expensive La Mer products on my face for years (I maintain its why I look a good 10 years younger then I am) and although Estee Lauder who owns them told me in an email they are gluten-free, they clearly list wheat in their very long list of ingredients. I have the driest skin ever. I'd like to know if...
  7. I know this topic has been talked about many times before. But I do have some new info and a few questions and I'm looking for more ideas. I have always had thin, fine hair. After I had my daughter 17 years ago it got a bit more thin but not too bad. Now I'm in my early 50's and it is thinning out so much its scary. I'm terrified of being bald...
  8. I tried again this time for skinny cow (trying to find out if they are gluten-free. And I get a page that says i'm using the search incorrectly. You type in what you are searching for and click search. How do you do that incorrectly? Susan
  9. I am trying to find out if there have been any posts about Cindy's Kitchen salad dressings. I sign in, search for cindys kitchen and I get back 25 pages of results and when I click on any of the result I get a page that says bad request. I can't seem to search for any term... I keep getting 25 pages of results and all the result links are BAD REQUEST...
  10. I did search the forum but all I found were a couple of posts from last year about restaurants in upstate NY. I'm specifically looking in the Falls area. Thanks for any help. Susan
  11. I travel, I eat out, I date. My BF is gluten-free when we are together so that helps tremendously (when he's out with the guys he'll eat pizza and such). It was not an issue for him at all. I don't say Celiac disease right off either because of that disease word. I did once and the guy did recoil and when I told him as long as I don't eat gluten I...
  12. I'm going to San Antonio in 3 weeks! I can't wait. Susan
  13. I started getting symptoms right after child birth but was not diagnosed until my daughter was 11 years old! Susan
  14. Both my daughter and I have celiac. I honestly believe my mom has it but her blood test came back negative and thats good enough for her, she desperately wants to eat bread, she says she can't live without it. Susan
  15. I love that show, I laugh so hard every Monday when I watch it. My BF reminds me of Jeff (the older married guy, formerly on Seinfeld). The funny part is my BF's name is Jeff. I did see that episode and also notice the wheat allergic reference, but was laughing too hard to give it much thought! Susan
  16. I don't think its anything else, I have very clear and unmistakable symptoms when I get glutened. I don't get glutened every time with Amy's stuff but maybe half the time and as I said the symptoms are perfectly clear. Susan
  17. I can't eat Amy's products either, they make me really sick. Susan
  18. Ok thanks! I too wondered when I saw that the other packages of Yoplait stuff says gluten-free but the chocolate Whips does not. Susan
  19. I'm asking because I ate it and have a belly ache and when I read the ingredients it lists, "carmel color" and I know that is often a source of gluten. Does anyone know for sure? Susan
  20. I bought a bunch of Enjoy Life semi sweet morsels. My daughter and I have to be gluten-free and nut free and they are both. I want to melt them down and pour them over raisins or coconut and make some candy for us. But when I melt them they feel a little grainy. What do you add to melted chocolate to make it into a smooth candy? Cream, oil, ...
  21. Thanks!! I'll look for them. Susan
  22. I think the bottom line is before you try vitamins and such, is to see a doctor, you could have thyroid issues, or be anemic or anything number of things. Most of which can be detected with simple blood tests (there are 2 tests for thyroid one is older and not as good the newer one is I think a few different blood tests - probably someone here will know...
  23. I don't usually have nuts around as my daughter has a peanut and nut allergy but I need to take one to a party and I'd like to get one that is gluten-free so I can eat it. What brands of nuts roasted or other wise can we eat? Susan
  24. My daughter has a life threatening allergy to peanuts, her's is so serious she has airborne reactions. I bought her the Enjoy Life sunbutter bars and she would not eat them, (I love them) over the past 16 years she has come to associate the smell of peanut butter with her allergy and possibly death and when she opened one she immediately said, "I'm not eating...
  25. I checked at a bunch of groceries and health food places with no luck. I can't use Bob's Red Mill, ugh I hate that company, they never list cross contamination issues on their products because I called them to find out of I could use a specific product (my daughter has a life threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts) and they told me with a tree nut...
