ARCHIVED Insurance; Is There Risk With Genetic Tests
captaincrab55 replied to linda-r's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm not an Insurance wizard, but I was always told it was best if One was diagnosed when they had insurance.. IMO, it would be best to be diagnosed when One has insurance and insurable for that as long as One had insurance. Some health issues do have limits and some coverage changes with different insurance companies.... It would seem that Insurance... -

captaincrab55 replied to captaincrab55's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
The letter did turn out as a, "WIN WIN for CELIAC Disease Awareness".. It did cost $5.54 to send the letter Certified Return Receipt, but it assured me that my message would be delivered to someone that could be held accountable. In this case, the letter reached the property owner / caterer (same person).. Now I must offer a, "Big Thanks... -

He then went on to inquire about CELIAC Disease and the Gluten Free... -

ARCHIVED Horrible Slate Article
captaincrab55 replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Just a newbie here, but IMO when I started reading the article I thought a farmer was writing it.. The author sounded like he wants to put the brakes on gluten-free diets to protect grain sales.. To me the article had more positives then negatives. One doesn't need any negatives at this stage of the fight for celiac disease awareness. With that in... -

captaincrab55 replied to Jennifer2's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I called CHI-CHI'S yesterday to inquire about their SALSA, if it contained gluten. I was assured that none of their SALSA contained gluten. ARCHIVED Attending A Paid Catered Event
captaincrab55 replied to captaincrab55's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Attending the event is at will and I won't attend unless I get some cooperation from the Caterer (in this case, the Owner too). This event usually brings out (weather permitting) between 2000 to 3000 people of all ages. With a group that size, I can easily see 20 to 30 people (maybe more) that can group together to make a difference in the future... ... -
