Aroostook...may I ask who your Doc is? I have a General Practitioner and he pretty much dismissed it after my Celiac Panel came back negative. My sister has Celiac and I have had a positive response to a Gluten Free Diet, but I have NO support team at all. Thanks -

ARCHIVED gluten-free Amish Chicken Casserole
homemaker replied to homemaker's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Oh yum it was so good. This is a recipe that I made for years for my kids and I just adapted it to gluten-free. You can try to cut down on the butter if you want to... The wonderful thing about this recipe, is that you can add other vegetables if you want to to beef up nutritional value..... I made is last night, and hubby is usually fussy with... -
There are many schools of thinking regarding Celiac Disease and gluten sensitivity... AND there are many patients that have been helped by more open minded physicians. I believe that someday the medical profession will look back at how we diagnosed Celiac and related disorders and will be in awe at how archaic we were.... I am not an MD, I am a patient...

Yes, Thank You ....I know that by having the gene does diagnose Celiac, but you are right, it is just another puzzle piece to help in the process of coming to a diagnosis...and it would be helpful for my children, who have not had children of their own yet, to know if their mother has the gene... -
I agree...I never knew that enterolab existed until I was on this forum. My belief is that there is still SO many things not understood as of yet regarding gluten sensitivities and celiac, and I believe that the medical community has a LONG way to go when it comes to diagnosing these disorders. When I look at my own family history, filled with Celiac and...

Wow sounds like me, I have been gluten-free now for about a month. I wake up early sometimes and I am so hungry I feel shaky and jittery. It is getting so that I lay out all my breakfast foods in so that I can make breakfast as fast as possible. It almost feels like low blood sugar or something. This is totally new for me too since going gluten-free.....

ARCHIVED For Those Who Have Pelvic Organ Prolapse
homemaker replied to cvll's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
In answer to your question, I have a cystocele, a form of bladder prolapse, caused by difficult childbirths. My symptoms are urinary frequency, and difficulty completing urination. My cystocele was made worse by my chronic constipation due to gluten intolerance. Straining due to constipation during bowel movements caused my cystocele to worsen. Chronic... -

Thanks everyone...my decision to try enterolab was made more for my children and anything else....When I really think about it... ARCHIVED Shampoo & Conditioner
homemaker replied to shellhoo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It is wonderful to use a shampoo and conditioner that is gluten free, but it is also vital to try to find a shampoo and conditioner without SLS or SLES. A health food store is your best bet. SLS and SLES are detergents, which are basically glorified floor cleaner ...yuck I know.. It is hard to find shampoos and conditioners (esp. shampoo) without... -

A few weeks ago I had a negative Celiac Panel Done and I have read on this forum that one must be consuming at least 3 slices of bread a day to have positive results. Is it possible, if I was not consuming that level of breads or pasta for my results to be inaccurate? I had been on Weight Watchers and was only having 2 slices a day...very rarely more... -

I am not a dermatologist, nor as a small soapcrafter do I claim medical advice....but I can as a mother try to advise... They might be reacting to gluten, but there are also additives to body washes and shampoos that can trigger eczema. Have they used a new product recently? You might try a glycerin soap without any fragrance, artificial detergent foamers... -
