  1. The hospital was Eastern Maine Medical Center Bangor Maine ER Doctors name: Dr. Paul R. Reinstein, MD
  2. Well I just spent 8 hours in the ER for dizziness & weakness due to some High Blood Pressure Meds... I just in passing told him about my recent choice to go Gluten Free and why... I told him my Celiac blood work was negative...and he asked how the gluten-free diet was working for me... and I said great! He said fabulous keep gluten free...AND he said...
  3. I have a little dilemma...prior to going gluten-free ...I was baking bread for the entire family. I have had a wonderful time baking my gluten-free Bread myself and having great success! My dilemma is this... How can I avoid cross contamination, other than cleaning and using separate utensils? AND I presume it would be NOT a good idea if using a bread...
  4. I have come to the decision to use Entero Lab to do further testing... I was wondering how long it takes to get the test in the mail? I already know that I feel better going gluten-free and have been gluten-free for about 2 weeks now but I am more thinking about my children, now 22 and 24... I feel that more information that I can share with them regarding...

Condensed Tomato Soup 2 cups Water 4T Corn Starch 3T Butter 2 small cans tomato Paste gluten-free Season with salt and pepper In a small saucepan, whisk water and cornstarch till well blended...
  6. Yeah...I think I just had to get over the idea that medical professionals know best.....which is silly because most Dr.'s are so rushed today, they don't hear half of what you tell them anyway...they stick to protocol and test results and have lost the fine art of listening to their patients..sad really...but I am moving on Gluten Free and healthier than...
  7. I don't have a gluten-free child to feed...but I recently took a quick vacation for a few days...and I packed in my carry on... gluten-free Snack Bars gluten-free Crackers Asst...I took lots of these... 8. Thanks t-berry...Like I said before...I am in a learning curve...sometimes I feel confident and other times I don't ... Having support and feed back in this forum is invaluable...Thanxs
  9. Thanks Folks...You are totally right...I think part of my struggle was just "trusting and listening to my own body" and believing it and what it tells me and also knowing and believing that, although we might use the medical profession when we need them...the ultimate proof is how we feel...and that we can make decisions regarding our health ourselves, and...
  10. Well, I have been gluten free over a week now and have been feeling better every day. My hubby was skeptical at first when I went gluten free after my blood work was negative, but now he is amazed at the difference in both how I feel and my energy level... All I knew is that my stomach hurt and I got constipated and bloated when I ate wheat products...
  11. I agree...Bob's Red Mill Cornbread Mix is awful...It has a weird taste and I found it dense and heavy as well....
  12. I cannot believe that Doctor said "not skinny and Irish" Grrr That is so untrue....One can be normal weight or overweight and still have celiac. Also you don't have to be Irish... What Old School Thinking! I also tested negative but went gluten free anyway...I had too strong of a family history, I did not want to take a chance. I went Gluten Free 5 days...
  13. Ecitizen..I too can't seem to get diagnosed...and I too had symptoms of neuropathy...Mainly in my legs and face...tingling...and in my feet...all medical avenues came up with nothing... My mother had what I now think was celiac...the family story goes that she was failure to thrive, almost died and lived on rice gruel and bananas and it saved her life.....
  14. Nasalady..thank you so much for this post...I just got back negative bloodwork and I am tired to fighting with the medical community.. Went gluten free 5 days ago and already feel like a new woman.... Sister has disease I believe my mother had it from childhood ...she died early and so did her sister my aunt.. I am staying gluten free...as I sit...
  15. Thanks...that does explain things... I do think I am gluten intolerant however, due to the fact I went Gluten Free AFTER the blood work...I am now on Day 5 and feeling terrific! No more constipation or tummy pains...I just plain feel better... I wonder...if Gluten Intolerance really does run in families of those with diagnosed Celiac...Hmmm makes me wonder...
  16. I still can't make sense of what the tests mean Celiac IgA Serum Units mg/dL (68-378) 209 Tissue Transglutaminase Ab IgA Units (0-19) 10 Gliadin Antibody IgA Units 3 It also said Gliadin Antibody IgG but stated no reference range and just said 0 Who knows I give up...
  17. HELP Just got back results..Dr. Says negative Celiac IgA Serum Units mg/dL Ref Range (68-378) 209 Tissue Transglutaminase Ab IgA Units (0-19) 10 Gliadin Antibody IgA Units 3 I thought anything above 4 with tissue transglutaminase was a weak positive... HELP..I am confused....
  18. Thanks for your reply...I do not think that it is due to an increase in whole grains or fruits...it seems more due to the lack of gluten or something...On Day 4 of Gluten Free I think I have pooped more than I have in my life! Constipation see ya later! I saw on previous posts that those who had suffered from constipation prior to going Gluten Free improved...
  19. I am so sorry you are going through all of this...I am waiting on my bloodwork and my MD was so clueless he didn't even know what test to give me! I don't even know what blood tests he did...I told him I wanted to be screened for Celiac Disease...who knows... Hang in there...I hope I don't get the same run around

  21. Now let me first say I am not diagnosed yet...my bloodwork is still out there, I am waiting for results... My sister has celiac she was dx with bloodwork and endo...
