ARCHIVED Need To Find A Good Dr In Florida--please Help!
CHARBEEGOOD replied to mom26boys's topic in Doctors
This is most helpful. I live in Central Florida (Orlando) and between the allergist, PCP, Gastroenterologist, and Neurologist I have learned a lot about myself. I always wonder if the information I have been getting is the most sound. Like so many of us I have gotten a lot of mixed up information from the Dr. that it drives me nuts. Learning about a Dr... -
ARCHIVED More Testing And Sooooo Confused.
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Bobbijo6681's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
WOW...some of your story sounds like mine. Don't you just hate it when they say "depression" let me give you something for that! My PCP sent me to a Neurologist who's first words were..."your just depressed". I refused the drugs and demanded the test-my B12 was 189 so I know exactly what you mean about exhaustion, pain and no desire to eat. My Neurologist... -
ARCHIVED I Don'T Know If I Can Do This...
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Nightingale8472's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for the cider information. It had completely slipped my mind. I have been a wine, gluten-free beer, margarita or rum drinker since starting my "diet exploration". This just gives me another option and the fun of find the one I like the best.. Going Gluten Free does not mean missing out! You will find that many no-gluten-free persons have not... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Recover From Chronic Insomnia After Going gluten-free?
CHARBEEGOOD replied to carrieanna76's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Riceguy..thank you. You said that so much better than I could have. Each Dr. tells his or her patients how to take the B12. I was injecting it for a few months and taking supplements. Once the levels got up, I was told to stop the injections and just take the supplements. They will continue to test my levels for a while to see if they change. Depending... -

Interesting...I have a friend who is removing more and more foods from her diet and legumes is one of them. I never put it together with lectin however, am soy free and avoid soy lecithin at all costs. Like many I have gone lactose free which I found helpful. Thank goodness for Turtle Mountain Coconut milk products! Keep us posted I wish you luck and...

Hi,I was over a friends house who has been diagnosed with endometriosis and we were discussing our diets. We found out that we both have been avoiding gluten, soy, and lactose. I had a doctor(a few years ago) inform me that they believed I had endometriosis but I was unable to get the treatment (due to insurance) and also around this time I was diagnosed...

ARCHIVED B12 Supplement vs ADHD Medication?
CHARBEEGOOD replied to LadyCyclist87's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I always find that when I visit this site I feel less alone. Many of us have experienced similar "effects/affects" that the general populations don't. Trying to find out why we feel like we do and how to make ourselves feel better is not a 1 size fits all kind of moment. Like many I have been working my way toward a healthier life style.... -
ARCHIVED Traveling To Northern Georgia
CHARBEEGOOD replied to momofk&n's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
I wont lie..whenever I travel I always have food sent ahead. If I am visiting someones house I have it delivered there, if someone is going a head of me I send stuff with them as well as pack a few things to travel. I love the "travel" sized peanut butter single servings they don't take up much room and don't go bad. But your right fruit, veggies, bars... -
ARCHIVED Olive Garden gluten-free Menu
CHARBEEGOOD replied to CecilyF's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have been working my way through the Gluten Free menus offered here in Central Florida. Olive Garden, Uno's Chicago Grill, Outback Steak House, PF Chang's(haven't tried it yet), and Chevy's all offer gluten-free menus! We also have a Fusion Pizza, Whole Foods, Chamberlain's and some hotel/entertainment chains that offer special menus or attention to guests... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Recover From Chronic Insomnia After Going gluten-free?
CHARBEEGOOD replied to carrieanna76's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Carrie, I didn't think you were alone (and the responses above prove that). I too have experienced sleep problems. I have been "keeping" a gluten-free diet since October and besides the digestive improvement I did experience a sleep improvement. B12 is something to keep your eye one, B12 is absorbed in the colon which is why so many individuals who suffer... -
My family just did a cruise with Disney and for the most part I had a wonderful experience. I simple asked a lot of questions, no one made me feel silly or stupid. I knew in advance that they would not have certain items so I brought some things with me (small items that I could carry). I also sent them an email in advance with my diet information so that...

ARCHIVED Gluten, Dairy And Soy Free?
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Iluvaceliac's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I understand the issues you boyfriend is having. I am also Gluten Free, Soy Free and lactose free. I buy tuna (you have to read all the cans, a lot of canned tuna also has soy in it), hard boiled eyes. I have found 1 mayonnaise that is not a "specialty" item Hellmann's Canola Cholesterol Free and we found it a a few different "grocery" stores. I take... -
ARCHIVED Negative Tests - Now What?
CHARBEEGOOD replied to travelmom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It is always a hard choice. Good luck feel better there are many of us that have had the same issues. It is scary but you have to make choices that help you feel better. I have had the same results as most posts here. -
ARCHIVED Target Has Gluten Free Section
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Wolicki's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The target near us has a "select" few items, which is nice..the publix has more to offer as does Whole Foods and Chamberlains. I keep crossing my fingers that it will be come easier to get the foods I like and need with out having to make additional trips to other stores. -
Good luck with the process, it is a stinker. I have been working through all the "products" in my house starting with food, and progressing to personal hygiene. I haven't progressed to the dish washing liquid yet, I keep going over in my mind that it is completely rinsed off. (or I hope). Keep us posted. Here is hoping you feel better soon.

ARCHIVED Great Gluten-free Info From Disney World
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Lynayah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Glad to hear that Diney provided you with safe & taste food. All the wignature locations should provide you with the same level of service. Individual attention, good food and above and beyond service. It is the most aaaccomodating location I've been to! I love california grill but it is hard to get into. Popular -
I understand how you feel. I was diagnosed with multiple food allergies but never told I had celiacs. I have had an endoscopic done as well as an up GI endoscopic done as well. My results came back negative but with my allergies (Soy, Oat and most recently lactose intolerant) it was decided that a gluten free diet would be the wisest move. I also have...

ARCHIVED Man, I Dont Feel Well!
CHARBEEGOOD replied to Frances03's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Elimination diet may be the best place to start, but don't go it alone make sure to talk with your Doctor so that they can "assist" and give you a good place to start from. I recently had lactose taken out of my diet which helped lessen my "digestive" distress. So this makes me Gluten Free, Soy Free, Lactose intolerant and allergic to onions!! Good luck...
