  1. Oh no, Lisa, do not misunderstand...I am going to follow the diet, and have been, to the best of my short education on gluten-free. I feel like there is a large percentage of DH cases that ARE related to celiac. Probably most. I also think I was having to much gluten in my diet, regardless of DH. Just feeling better mentally and losing weight...
  2. I would send a letter to hotel owner/management and chefs and educate them on gluten free/options/safety. And your disappointment that professionals are not aware.
  3. I have to go with Lisa, In almost every article I have read, (and I did not post them all to this site), the words USUALLY, CAN, OFTEN, MAY are used in conjuction with linking DH to CELIAC and/or gluten intolerance. The article from the medical writer, may not be definitive (but I am sure she researched the topic). I have found more than one place...
  4. Scary, because what if going gluten-free does not help it. What treatment would be available for non-celiac DH?
  5. Dermatitis Herpetiformis Skin Changes in Celiac, Thyroid, Sjogren's, Arthritis, and More
  6. Also seems Thyroid issues, perimenopause and other female hormonal imbalances, and in some cases general autoimmune diseases...all with no gluten intolerance or celiac disease present.
  7. Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis (APD) is a circumstance in which the menstrual rhythm is associated with an amount of rind findings such as urticaria, eczema, angioedema, and others. The circumstance presents with a kind of rind eruptions characterized by cyclical recurrent premenstrual exacerbations payable to progesterone variation during the menstrual...
  8. I went to filtered water about 3 years ago. Brita. Became diligent about it about a year ago. About 2 weeks ago bought a Seychelle filter pitcher. I cook with it, etc. filters for bath and shower to remove chorine about 3 months ago.
  9. I am too afraid to eat out right now. I am really wanting this DH rash to go away ASAP so I ccan function outside of my home, sit in a movie for 2 hours, visit friends without an itch attack, etc. Just not worth it for me. Yet.
  10. Glutathione (GSH) happens to be your body
  11. What about dairy? I think I am reacting to it had a hot chocolate yesterday and rash went crazy. The only other thing I had was Pamela's cookies, and Trader Joe gluten-free curry chicken tenders with fresh organic veggies. I am also going decaf.
  12. It seems that gluten free baked items and snack foods have just as much calorie, sugar and fat content, if not more than regular food items. Are you talking about celiacs that eat very little but still gain weight? I was terribly anemic and fat. Poor quality diet. Too many carbs and empty calories from starches and grains.
  13. How long did it take you child's skin issue to clear from the diet?
  14. It is my understanding that you/any human will never be completely rid of Candida. It is a normal flora in the body. The problems arise when it gets out of control, due to diet, antibiotics, weakened immune system or a combination of several illnesses. The goal is to reach flora balance in the body. There is usually a die off reaction, which will...
  15. Why does good flora diminish after REMOVING glutinous food...you think it would get better without all the yeast food

    ARCHIVED The Dh Rash

Yes marie and Chemist Mama, etc. thanks for the info. I am trying to be patient. I do see some improvement in skin, and mood. I have a little more energy. I read about meds and iodine and am not taking anything. I have had the rash about 3 years, and it was really bad. I did step up the probiotics dose to twice a day. My digestion is improving...
  17. Lots of info on dairy and DH. It seems to aggravate it. Sugar might aggravate it too. Look at the chemicals in Doritos, cheetos, coke, pepsi and other store bought foods. Who knows that that junk is. I would find some healthier snacks, make them, or go to healthfood store.
  18. Heaven help the son of a gun, that even thinks about getting between me and a bath. It is the ONLY thing that soothes me enough to stop itching and sleep. I would tell him, not one word about anything you do for personal care. You don't need his permission. He has got some selfish, childish issues of his own. I think he needs the help, if he...
  19. What is she eating this week? Regardless, I would simplify, eat at home, fresh, safest food, no dairy, no cold drinks, caffeine. I would not go to restaurants. Keep this from going crazy. If she has mood issues, why chance it?
  20. I get that too, but especially if I have been itching a lot. The whole thing makes me nervous and very agitated. I have to take benedryl; I had atarax but only one refill for 30 when it was really bad. Need more.
  21. I guess it is a matter of opinion. Good that there is even an option, I guess. I would rather just have some good quality chocolate bar. I have not seen the Betty Crocker mixes in any of the stores I shop. I am really more concerned with finding real main meal food, first. I just thought a snack would be nice. I tried one again. Just OK...
  22. I was given one by a friend, called Thunder Chocolate Meal REplacement by forevergreen. It is a big almost 3 lb canister, and I think it is around $60. makes 60 shakes. It is whey and 24 Karat Chocolate with vitamins, enzymes, omega's, amino acids, minerals, probiotics. It has honey crystals and 14.5 g protein
  23. Darn...I am very allergic to peanuts and pbutter.
  24. Atlanta. Return to Eden has revamped and has a good selection of gluten-free foods , including frozen. Prices are high and they put very little on sale. Whole Foods in Buckhead seems to have a better selection than other Whole Food locations, and does put some things on sale. Someone told me Norcross store had a good selection. Employees at WF...
