ARCHIVED Chasing Symptoms for years
etbtbfs replied to Cryren8972's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Forget the doctor! You've diagnosed yourself. -
Prozac was a disaster for me. None of the BigPharma anti-depressants fit well with human biochemistry. Consider the advice from Kent Holtorf MD: T3 (active thyroid hormone) is the best anti-depressant there is. Many celiacs have the gluten-triggered autoimmune syndrome Hashimotos, which permanently destroys the thyroid if you have it for a long time.

ARCHIVED Gluten and the thyroid and pancreas
etbtbfs replied to BarryC's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Gluten destroyed my thyroid because it triggered Hashimoto's. I'll never have normal thyroid levels without T3+T4 supplementation. I have a friend whose Islet cells were destroyed by gluten. He is now diabetic and has to take insulin. The problem is that most people proceed to destruction because American doctors never look for autoimmune disorders until... -
ARCHIVED Mental Health Improve Going Gluten Free?
etbtbfs replied to JesikaBeth's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If gluten is killing your thyroid, then getting some of your thyroid function back WILL help mental health, esp. Anxiety and depression. -
ARCHIVED Recent Diagnosis And Trying To Conceive
etbtbfs replied to silva's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thyroid is so important to conception, and carrying a baby. Celiac so often whacks thyroid. Make sure you have a first-class doc looking at yours. -
Do you know whether gut dysbiosis set off Hashimoto's that whacked your thyroid? Very common. Unfortunately MDs aren't very good at diagnosis and treatment. Check out the web to see what Kent Holtorf, Mary Shomon, and Dana Trentini have to say.

ARCHIVED People With Celiac Disease Can See Doctor Upon Doctor Before Diagnosis - Cbs Local
etbtbfs replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Allopathic medicine wastes lots of time and money. Try a naturopath, it worked for me (after 12 years wasted with MDs) -
ARCHIVED Back Pain Associated With Celiac?
etbtbfs replied to Giwi777's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The first symptom of celiac I got was backpain that put me in chiropractor-land for years. After 24 years of this, I got a diagnosis of degeneration at L5-S1 and herniation at L4-L5. Celiac causes deficiencies that cause this. In my case, the key deficiencies were hypothyroid (via Hashimotos) and hypoprotein. After going gluten-free, got pain relief by... -
ARCHIVED Multivitamin Recommendation
etbtbfs replied to Nikki2777's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use the MegaFood brand food-based multivitamin, the one labeled "men over 40 one daily". I think they have a similar product for women. -
ARCHIVED Brain Fog Back - Cannot Figure Out Why - Help!
etbtbfs replied to mbledtke's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
TSH in "normal limits" proves nothing. A doctor who doesnt examine all of. TSH FT3 FT4 rT3 TG+TPO antibodies, at a minimum, isnt really diagnosing. Take a look at sites like StopTheThyroidMadness.com. -
ARCHIVED Synthyroid For Thyroid Contains Gluten
etbtbfs replied to Karli bose's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Use.levoxyl. Guaranteed gluten-free. See glutenfreedrugs.com. Add T3 if necessary, to get your FT3 at least to mid-range. I use T3 as cytomel, cuz it is also gluten-free. -
ARCHIVED New Here: Tiny Home, Husband Eats Gluten, Etc.

Why does your husband think eating gluten is so important? He needs to support you by going gluten-free, which will make things simpler. -
ARCHIVED Men Are Biggest Gluten-Free Diet Cheats - Celiac.com
etbtbfs replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Everyone knows that males are doctor-avoiders. They just arent too bright when it comes to health issues. Don-t flame me, I am a male. -
You might want to check glutenfreedrugs.com. Many celiacs have hypothyroidism. Make sure yours is checked by a doc competent to diagnose hypoT (many are not). Keep in mind that T3 is a better anti-depressant than all of the Big Pharma anti-depressants.

Since celiac results in malabsorption, you probably need supplementation. Most MDs are clueless about this. One specific suggestion: if celiac has triggered Hashimotos autoimmunity, you need a trace mineral supp that will normalize iodine, selenium, zinc ... Necessary for thyroid function.

ARCHIVED Thyroid Medictaions? Levoxyl?
etbtbfs replied to Tigercat17's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am on Levoxyl and Cytomel cuz King Pharm sent me letters in 2010 declaring that neither of them uses gluten fillers. (King is now owned by Pfizer.). Have never been glutened by these meds so far as I can tell. -
Kavinace did almost nothing for me. BTW I trust you already know that anxiety can be caused by a drop in thyroid hormone.

ARCHIVED Depression, Anxiety And Low Energy Testimonials
etbtbfs replied to symphonyofdreams547's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Your response to removing gluten can depend on the length of time it has been causing problems. (1) Did you have obscure symptoms early in life? There are some symtpoms, such as dental problems and canker sores, that can signal gluten destruction. I got these in my teens but did not understand what they meant; few doctors know about these. (2) How... -

ARCHIVED Who Is Currently Taking Synthroid?
etbtbfs replied to BrittLoves2Run's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
When I investigated the gluten status of various T4 brands years ago, I discovered that Abbott would not promise thAt Synthroid is gluten-free. However King Pharmaceutical (now owned by another corporation) would guarantee that Levoxyl is gluten-free. So I have used Levoxyl ever since. -
ARCHIVED Cooking Gluten Free And Regular Food Together? Please Help
etbtbfs replied to laylang's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED Is Celiac Disease The Culprit Of My Many Tendon Issues?
etbtbfs replied to boopis's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had severe problems with muscle and connective tissue breakdown. The worst of these was diagnosed spinal degeneration. All this is due to the fact that celiac has reduced my ability to digest protein foods. The story is told by the TBP (Total Blood Protein) test. Normal range is 6.2-8.3 g/dl, but vigorous people usually read in the upper half of the... -
