  1. Who knows? It's different for everyone. I bet it will be different as she grows, too. It will be a " lovely" surprise. Open Original Shared Link
  2. I think Celiac is the preferable and most likely cause. Open Original Shared Link
  3. You might want to print these out and share with the doctor? Open Original Shared Link Young kids don't always make enough antibodies to show up in blood work. Looks like he is making enough now? Open Original Shared Link
  4. I think we aren't on the same wave- length here. Ingredients, legally, must be listed. You can't put something in without saying it. In the milk in my fridge ( ingredients posted above), if malt or even broccoli were added, it would be listed. There are no ingredients listed for the mythical " hidden gluten" to hide in. Also, because we are talking about...
  5. Of course it would be listed in the title and ingredients - Chocolate malt milk - milk, cocoa, cane sugar, malt flavor or just malt The milk I have now for M says -milk, evaporated cane juice, cocoa, vanilla flavor, DHA algal oil (need to look up what that is), carrageenan, salt, vit a & d Looked up the algal oil - it's made from algae!
  6. Go to school and read the ingredients? We have had many brands and haven't seen gluten except in a chocolate malt flavor.
  7. All the ones I have seen are gluten-free. Read the ingredients. It's possible they make a chocolate malt flavored milk. That would be a no- no but the malt would be listed in the ingredients.
  8. I understand that many with Hashimoto's feel better gluten-free. That does not mean that gluten causes antibodies to attack the thyroid and that is the cause of it. Anyway....seems like he really should have tested you for Celiac so you know what you are dealing with. You will know what follow- up you need, how careful you need to be, etc.
  9. Did he do an actual blood test for your Hashis? I'm getting a feeling that your doc might be some alternative quack. It makes me mad how some of these "doctors" and sometimes MD doctors spout nonsense that is not based in medical fact. I gave you a couple of links. Mayo clinic does not say gluten antibodies attack the thyroid. You might read some info...
  10. Something from actual doctors to show your doc. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  11. Not sure why you say Hashimoto's is triggered by gluten? I haven't seen that. I know some do better off gluten. Some have Celiac. Why won't your doctor test you for Celiac? You would need to eat gluten again for that.
  12. Sure. It is a public forum.
  13. This list is helpful. It can't include every drug that is gluten free. Open Original Shared Link target has started labeling some of the Target brand medications as gluten-free.
  14. You all must go to some really filthy grocery stores! ( Insert laughing smilie guy here). I know the acceptable levels of cleanliness are different in different parts of the country. Here, the belts are always wet from getting cleaned all the time.
  15. Look at this info: Open Original Shared Link You weren't off of gluten long, so a little gluten a day should do it according to this.
  16. Hey Addie! We are at the Razorback Regional in Arkansas! In 2 nd place right now! Our mentor won the Woody Flowers award and Woody was here to present it!
  17. Maybe they are all adding up? A little gluten here, a little there. You really haven't had time to heal from one glutening to another
  18. Just an FYI - this was a 4 year old thread so the original posters may not still be around.
  19. Not sure where you are getting your " facts". But L& P does say gluten-free on it. Perhaps they know what is in the ingredients? Along your line of thinking, I'm surprised you would use that BBQ sauce as it has " smoke flavoring". That's another ingredient people on the Internet think contains " hidden" gluten. ( I'm not saying it has gluten, it...
  20. I like lea and Perrins. It's gluten-free in the US. No HFCS. Open Original Shared Link
  21. You can ask at your next appointment or call and ask for them. You don't even talk to the doc if you call. Lots of people keep them for their own records and will have them to give other doctors or enroll in a medical study or send insurance.
  22. Get copies of the blood work, the procedure report and the pathology report. That will tell you if he did the correct sampling.
  23. I say go for it, if you want. Someone has to test new meds. I would make sure you really understand what you must do and what the follow- up is. It sounds like you don't really know enough to make a good decision. I'm assuming its a reputable medical center conducting it? Make sure they will give you treatment, at no cost to you, if something goes...
  24. Well...that was quick! Maybe this will help? Get your laundry and bills caught up and get this taken care of! I will be thinking of you.
  25. I wouldn't eat anything they prepared. They have no understanding of Cc. They might wash and drain the veggies in the colander they have used for 5 years for gluten pasta.
