  1. My boys and their friends thought M&Ms on the plain icing (whaterever color) was the best looking cake they had seen! Cake and candy! Just sprinkle the M&Ms on while the icing is its softest.
  2. That was a few years ago. Which Bristol and which Jack's Stack do you eat at? A few years ago the Jack's in Martin City had no clue and said that baked potaoes had gluten. Maybe they have learned something since then.
  3. Went last weekend to Nature's Pantry, near Independence Mall. The gluten-free frozen section is amazing. Only place I have found the Glutenfreeda pizza wraps in the area. The HyVee at 135th and Antioch has a big gluten-free section. The Natural Grocers at 91st & Metcalf has some things I haven't found at HyVee. When I went gluten-free several...
  4. That is a great solar heater! I think beer cans would work! Too bad most gluten-free beer is in bottles. J made an AC for his room with ice in a cooler, a fan & copper tubing & a small aquarium pump. I believe the Pirate and he may have a lot in common.
  5. Bleach won't "kill" gluten. It will just be clean, germless gluten. Wash well with soap and water.
  6. There are several on this thread that use "all-purpose" flour mixes. Pamelas and Better batter are all-purpose type things. Sometimes the companies web site will have a recipe, too.
  7. This was on Facebook: "The University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center Tuesday. During a 12-week gluten challenge, only a cracker or a 1/2 slice of bread need be consumed each day."
  8. I would get a hotel with a fridge and a microwave in it. Even if you can't stay where the rooms have microwaves, call and tell them you need a fridge for a medical need. Ask the hotel, there may be a grocery close or even a Whole Foods near. I would not suggest eating things infront of him that he might want but can't have. So plan to all eat the hotel...
  9. There is a lot of info on this forum. You might want to read around. There are recipes and even an ongoing thread about what people are making for dinner. Perhaps you cooked the rice pasta too long? I find it is best to turn it off when you add the pasta, put the lid on and it usually is ready faster than the package says. But there are lots of kinds...
  10. I assume you are keeping these charming texts to show a judge?
  11. I bet vanilla pudding with the creme de menthe would be yummy and a nice green color!
  12. I had noticed that it was the same thing with different names. I just get the generic Target brand (with the arrow on it).
  13. Made me remember, my boys thought I should share our boozy pudding recipe here. So I just posted the recipe. Not enough liquor to get you drunk but yummy.
  14. I go this recipe from "The Chew" and we modified it a bit. My boys loved it! They thought you would too. A bit too much alcohol for a 4 year ol child maybe. My version makes them a "finger food". Here's the original: Open Original Shared Link ingredients 1 box Chocolate Pudding Mix 1/4 Cup Milk Vodka (to taste) Coffee Liquour (to taste...
  15. This is great with pumpkin pie! Or make it with the chocolate cookies and use it for a Cheese cake or chocolate pudding type pie. 2 cups gluten-free gingersnap cookies 2 TBLsp sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine, diced small 1 Tblsp rice flour (I just used Pamelas) Put the cookies, flour & sugar in a food processor (I used my blender) and...
  16. Minestrone and focacia bread.
  17. No paper thingys. I did spray them but not sure if they need it. Just habit to spray stuff!
  18. These guys play all parts of the piano!
  19. Some of the store brand mixes of Actemenophin, aspirin and caffiene are gluten free. I have a bottle of the Target brand and it says gluten-free on it. When I was skiing and needed some - I took an aspirin, a Tylenol and drank caffiene.
  20. I have those pans/sheets! I got them at Bed. Bath & Beyond. Love them!. They wash off nice because nothing really sticks to them. I don't think I have made muffins in them. I make the little hash brown and egg things in them & they come out great.
  21. Welcome to the club! You still have a few weeks of eating eat you want, reading around and learning before your endoscopy. Don't stop eating gluten until you have your endo.
  22. If you have decided to avoid milk...you do realize that Cream is milk?
  23. Did you ask the company? This is from thier website: . I have several food allergies. Is there a possibility of cross contamination in your facility? A. Amy's Kitchen recognizes the needs of our customers who have allergies or sensitivities to nuts, gluten, certain spices, etc. Amy's always fully discloses all ingredients (except for specific spices...
  24. Here's Elmer's glue: "Is Elmer's glue gluten free? All of our products are gluten free except for the Elmer's Finger Paints. The finger paints contain wheat and oat products." Open Original Shared Link
  25. My mom has a lot of issues. It sounds like your Dad doesn't want you involved. Sorry. there isn't much you can do unless you have evidence he is not caring for her appropriately. Then you could report him for elder abuse. Do you have any siblings that know what is going on? Just remember- just because someone has a gene or 2 that are associated...
