  1. I don't know if any of those things will reduce your absorption or not. When you take iron and want to be sure it is available for the parts of your intestines that are working, It is usually no food 2 hours before and 2 hours after. I'm trying to remember. It might have been 3 hours before. If you are eating gluten-free, you are healing everyday...
  2. But yours has CANNED MACKERAL!
  3. My mom has had some of those things. She isn't Celiac. Do you live close enough to go to the hospital and be there when the doctor comes around? Sounds like your dad either isn't telling you anything, or he isn't understanding and asking questions.
  4. Blasted spell check. It has people walking down the street giving you medical advice! Ask for a copy of the lab results. different labs use different measurements but the ranges should be on the lab results paper. Lots of things are gluten-free that you may already be eating. Grlled chicken, steaks , burgers (no bun), fruits, veggies, cheese, etc...
  5. I think we all say to live your life and be careful. What we don't say is to take stupid chances or do things that are most likely to cause you to consume gluten. I'm sorry your doctor does not understand Celiac disease. and I am sorry you do not seem to have gotten a true understanding of Celiac by reading on the internet. Please consult some reputable...
  6. If you are just making a couple of holes, you could cover them with painter's tape. Drill thru the tape. Most of the mess will go back into the wall or stick on the tape. Might be extra to drop straight down. But no flying. I now have a funny image of little, plump, oval, light brown glutens with fly wings.
  7. If we want to get thru the next 98 pages quickly, we will need to break these posts ups into individual posts.
  8. Hey Russell! Welcome back! Merlot? Or Chard?
  9. Perhaps we should bring the wine?
  10. This is a good way to try a few gluten-free items. They will ask for a donation but you don't have to give one now if you can't afford it. Think of them in a few years when you are back together again. Open Original Shared Link
  11. If Patti were to serve some of those cupcakes in her Av, I think we could attract more Psillies!
  12. Make extra, whatever you make, so you can microwave left-overs. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link free&src=SH#/?st=6&term=gluten%2Bfree&pi=1&ps=9 Might want to get a crockpot. Under $20 at Target or Walmart. Open Original Shared Link We like this one I have posted on here before: This is a crockpot one...
  13. Who diagnosed the Celiac Disease? Perhaps you should follow-up with that person? Google "Celiac centers". There are several, like the Univ of Chicago, with easy to understand info. I think you were referred to the " Newbie" thread in one of your other threads. Stop a minute. Take a deep breath. Read. A lot of your questions will be answered in...
  14. I'm laughing so hard the cat came to see what was going on.
  15. If the gluten-free chocolate doesn't bother you, eat it. I usually get Dove dark chocolate pieces. With chocolate look for malt or barley malt (krispys), wheat (if it has cookies in it). The amount of milk in 1 or 2 pieces should be OK for a slight lactose intolerance. There are a few milk free chocolates like Enjoy LIfe Open Original Shared Link
  16. You might want to google some reliable medical celiac centers or organizations and read. Here's one easy to understand: Open Original Shared Link Becaues Celiac is an autoimmune disease, any gluten starts an immune response that can damage the intestines.

  18. Get a copy of the pathology report, too. This is the report of the biopsy specimens he took during the endoscopy. If he didn't take any biopsies, he can't say you don't have Celiac. Also, if he only took 2, he might have missed the actual damage. It is usually very hard to see with the scope.
  19. Maybe its a small company and they are taking a vacation? Would have made sense to put that in big letters on thier home page. If they have an actual store, maybe its still open? You could call them? It is Sukkot, so if they are stricter Jews (not sure I said that right), it is hard to have a business during this time. Open Original Shared Link
  20. 2 queens and we still haven't been very productive! Lisa seems to be the only one who has done something interesting and potentially psilly lately. Unless Victor/Vincent would decide to dress as a queen & post the pic? Patti, have you decided on your Halloween costumes?
  21. I guess Queendom depends on how you decide it? I would challenge you to a sword fight or send my armies into your castle but, in 2 pages, I'll not be queen anymore (by page count method). I just had some warmed cinnamon donut holes and coffee, so I'm feeling munificent right now.
  22. How long have you been eating gluten free? That could make your endoscopy negative. You should be eating a regular gluten diet.
  23. I never eliminated milk products. I cut back on cheese but don't drink milk. Avoiding dairy for the first few months is advised because the part of your intestines that digest milk is the part damaged by Celiac. It isn't about a milk "allergy" but about an inability to digest it (think lactose intolerance). If it isn't bothering you, you can eat it. ...
