  1. I'm laughing so hard, I can't get the laugh phace s on. Just had a thought: Is BE a younger man?
  2. Look who is living at my house! The Yeti! He came with a note saying he had been in Nepal, living in the Himalayas. Says," makes random appearances around the foothills of Mt Everest and is the focus of many folkloric tales." So far he has been quiet and polite.
  3. Maybe he'll make it to third base. Or hit a home run!
  4. I would also email the corporate office. I know they are like a franchise and owned by different people. If this is part of the corporate plan, they will want to know.
  5. Thanks for the info for Chicago, I am waiting for a response but they did receive my e-mail.

  6. Thanks for your service! Want ot ask a question. How do they handle the food? Do they not deploy you? Not sure MREs are gluten-free. Asking cause I have a teenage son who is interested in military service. Along with a few other careers. I am not genetically test ing him because I fear it will limit him even without active celiac disease.
  7. Is is the response I got from them today. Not particularly up- to - date or helpful. Karen, The Gluten Free pretzels were only found at Whole Food stores. We are just starting to have the product placed in other retail and grocery stores. Unfortunately, we can not track particular stores that are currently stocking this item. Our suggestion...
  8. Birthday update- Hub & M came home from scouts. J made brownies. Had a couple of presents and cards. Patti- maybe you should have thrown out the toaster, too! Jess- of course we are jealous or reminiscing our youth ( I've been with hub 32 years). We need some fun!
  9. The boys pediatrician told me he didn't understand their blood tests. What could I find out? ( found out they weren't positive for celiac). A bit frustrating but at least he is willing to listen to new info.
  10. I have to have 2. The first won't be too bad. Work people. They will bring wine or an ornament. The second one is a neighborhood party. People always want to bring food, even when I have told them not to. Plenty of foods are gluten-free naturally or with a small adjustment. My big problem is I have always depended on bread, pastry type things for appetizers...
  11. Saw Alta's mountain cam yesterday! Did you see I posted that I found a gluten-free bakery and lunch place in Sandy? It's Eleanors bake shop. You have to try it & let me know if it's good.
  12. Sounds like they started showing up in the East. Now they are in the west. How did they miss me in the middle? They have to drive right through Kansas City to get from east to west!
  13. Does the bruise look like Jesus or his mother, Mary? Maybe you could be a saint? I'll give you his email & you can convince him. Just wait until he thinks he has something to show off to the girls!
  14. We had a world class boy gymnist (SP?) at our high school. Guy was so impressed with his physique he couldn't keep his shirt on. Between classes, would take off his shirt and put it back on 3 minutes later when the next class started.
  15. I'm thinking Top Chef. I have a white chef coat that says "Top Chef Karen". would be easy and comfortable. Maybe husband could wear a meat suit. I wonder where I could find a lobster bib. He could be the diner. He could wear a white shirt and black or khaki pants and be the waiter. My sewing machine is perpetually broken or I could make a little...
  16. I don't even like to touch it if I need to get it out of the wash machine.
  17. Wish they were here! what store did you get them at?
  18. There are people on here who have said they have trouble with tapioca.
  19. You could go as a boxer! (like Muhamed Ali not the doggy) Or tell people you had a face lift. I hear they bruise and swell for a while.
  20. That would be too realistic. Like the cane idea! We had a couple of blind refs a few weeks ago. Do you think the bubble gum goes with beer? Cause if it interfers with the beer....
  21. Looks like BIL is having annual Halloween party Sat. Must have costumes. Last 2 years I went as a " pretty" witch. Previous I went as Sally & hub went as Jack Skeleton. I want an easy, comfy costume for an overweight, out of shape older woman. One of the football moms needs a costume, too. ( different party, lady hosting hates my hub cause he...
  22. Just re- read your post and saw she doesn't have symptoms. I choose not to get my boys gene tested because: They are still researching the genes involved in this disease. I would hate to give them a false sense of " I can't have it" in case they come up with more info I didn't want the positive genes on their medical records. The way insurance companies...
