Excellent idea! If I had a neighboUr like that, I would pay for her phone myself. It would mean someone watching over my place when I'm not there. -

OMG, yes, I looked at my map and there it is! Phartsville, NC. Well, almost. This is scary. We need to send the yeti over there to break some kneecaps deliver a polite message. My thoughts are with you and John tonight, and I hope that this gets resolved without anyone getting hurt. Property damage is bad enough. -

The Oracle knows all. Actually, I just have a memory for obscure trivia, and in a post about five months ago you gave the name of the town you live in: Open Original Shared Link I remembered it because it stuck in my mind due to a certain TV show in my youth starring Andy Griffith. Ya, you got me on that one, Patti. -

I don't have the answer to your question, but I'm glad to hear that things are looking up for you. I'm not a big fan of football, but I think it would be interesting if the Pats win on Sunday--a perfect season. -

Jacquie and I had two supporters each. Our biggest challenge was trying to balance the guest list--her initial list was about twice the size of mine. She trimmed and I added. Whatever song YOU choose will be perfect for YOUR special day. -

There are a couple of good sources of gluten-free products in Newmarket. Ambrosia is on Yonge one block north of Mulock. Just south of Mulock on the east side of Yonge there is another place, Nature's Emporium. They are big on natural and organic foods, but have many gluten-free items. We shop at both of these places regularly.

ARCHIVED I Thought Corn Was Safe - Confused
psawyer replied to Barbara A's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Corn is gluten-free, but some people with celiac disease are also intolerant to other foods. Corn and soy are common as other intolerances. You may have a problem with corn as well as with gluten. It is also possible that the corn products that you are eating are contaminated with wheat. A number of people here have reported problems after eating Fritos.... -
An "official" diagnosis may be useful in some situations. For students it can be a means of providing evidence to the school as to why certain accomodations are medically necessary. Reasonable accomodations must be made, if proof of disability can be shown. But the best diagnosis is a positive dietary response. If you don't need documentation to support...

Alex, how exciting. Another wedding for the silly crowd to celebrate. Did you know that marriage is the leading cause of divorce? In 100% of divorces examined in a recent scientific study, the parties were married first. On another topic, two three. So far. Updated to 10:08 pm. And, yes, what did become of Sarah. She has been missing for... -
Celiac disease is a life-long condition. You do not ever grow out of it, but by remaining gluten free you keep it in remission. Eating gluten (wheat or another source) will restart the active phase of the disease where the body attacks itself. You will find many answers here. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the board. The gluten-free lifestyle does seem overwhelming at first. The learning process takes time, but this is something almost all of us here have been through either for ourselves, or as part of a journey with a family member. You will find that there are many mainstream products that you can buy and use safely. Replacements for... -
ARCHIVED Old El Paso Taco Seasoning?
psawyer replied to blondebombshell's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The ones I know about are made from corn. Old El Paso is a General mills brand and will clearly disclose gluten in the ingredients list. If you don`t see wheat, barley, rye or oats listed in the ingredients, then they are not there. They will not be hidden in other ingredients. -

I first heard this expression while visiting a friend's cottage which had well water and a septic tank. Sarah, our pregnant employee, was talking to us today about how she was growing out of her clothes. Yesterday, she could not do her jeans up, and had to go to the mall to buy maternity slacks. I could not help thinking of...never mind. ROTFLOL -
ARCHIVED Which Comes First - The Celiac Or The Diabetes?
psawyer replied to AliB's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was diagnosed as type 1 diabetic in 1986, and as celiac in 2000. Looking back, I can see symptoms which are explained by celiac long before the diabetes diagnosis. I had eczema as a child. I had gastric disorders beginning in my teens, and continuing until I went gluten-free at age 46. I do wonder if early recognition of celiac and the adoption of a gluten... -

There are a number of things that get translated, for various reasons. Your best bet for discussing this is to send a PM to Scott Adams, the owner...
