  1. Just a tip about Walmart. I had problems with them willing to take time out to call the company Sandoz so I could take the similiar antibiotic. They gave me the phone number instead of them being good customer service and them calling them, or even knowing by experience. I had to take it right away as I was sick. So I called Kmart and they said they could...
  2. Just called Sandoz company which is a Generic Brand Walmart uses where I am at and the Azithromycin they carry said there is a product in it derived from WHEAT and that the final product didn't have gluten in it after processing. But he said to me that Sandoz does not test for gluten??? I would not buy that product. I am not taking a chance. I am so frustrated...
  3. Another thought too, I just used my free soup coupons for Progresso at another store and the labels are stuck pretty good and don't budge. That label on that can I had was loose too. The Progresso guy may be right after all.
  4. I just kept the fifth and kept saying "I don't know..." cause I don't know what happened...its kind of frustrating. Yes, they sent me some free coupons and a check for $10. I can't figure out if a label did fall off, and it was the wrong one on the can, where did it fall off at?? The store or during shipping, or at the manufacturing plant?...
  5. Just received a phone call from Progresso, they said they have put a flag on those can numbers, the product inside the can matched the stamp code on the bottom, and since noone else has called and complained about the product they can't recall them. Looking at the can he noticed there was walmart price tags on it. He said that he thought there was a possibitity...
  6. They are having the can picked up today.
  7. Just received another phone call, they are going to be calling me to set up Fed Ex to come and get the soup and can. Hopefully they recall the soups soon.
  8. My can numbers so others are aware right now...Progresso Traditional Chicken Cheese Enchilada flavor Gluten Free 13JUL2012 NV SCG-5 Below the nutrtrition facts at the bottom is a large number, the last 3 digits are 330.
  9. I called progresso, they told me if they don't call back to throw it away...that is weird, if they don't call back I will probably try the FDA, this should be pulled and recalled...its not right...not sure if Progresso told me that because others called it in too maybe...I hope they pull them from the shelves. They better be responsible or they will get an...
  10. Called and they will call back and send me a package to send the frozen soup...still working on it.
  11. I just recently bought a can of Progresso gluten free Chicken cheese enchilada soup and noticed when I poured it into my pan that it had kidney beans, rice, and it was more a brown color and not the white color on the front of the can. I read the ingredients thankfully to double check and there is no rice and beans included in them! I am calling Progresso...
  12. I know this is probably just pulling stuff out of the air but I have read up on Dr. Weil and his advice of hair thinning, he reccommends Black Currant oil or evening Primrose oil(GLA's), I just bought some although some of my hair is already growing on the front top of my head as I was fearing male pattern baldness as a women...ugh...so anyway the gluten...
  13. I just want to say thank you who all posted, I just scrolled down through the replies and appreciate everyones input...it is now about 5 1/2 months after being diagnosed and must tell all that my iron skyrocketed to normal, vitamin D, and B12 have gone up too...and thankfully I have internet access to get a lot of recipes and information overload LOL...I...
  14. I have recently noticed in the store that the Hills Bros. Cappuccino flavors no longer have gluten free listed on the front of their packages. Anyone know if they still are safe(gluten free) to drink? Its been awhile since I bought one and the one on my shelf at home says "gluten free" on the front.
  15. I usually get the off kilter problem in the Spring...I think mine is due to fluid in the ears. My doc always checks my ears and asks me what I am using as nose spray to get it drained and I am not using anything because the sprays all make me feel weird. That could have been from celiac disease though, now I am on a gluten free diet, and once in a while I...
  16. Roda~ How did you get the doctors to test your kids? Mine don't have typical symptoms so the pediatrician told me my insurance won't pay for it. And the only way is if they are having medical problems...I am so frustrated about it, I didn't have any symptoms(that I knew of) until I ended up in the hospital with a blood clot in my lung, and thats when they...
  17. I was told at a Family Fare(Spartan store) that the Spartan brand deli meat contained gluten when I asked. All they had available at the counter was Kreschmar brand deli meat beside the Spartan and most of those are gluten free I found out according to the deli lady, course I paid $7 lb for that meat but it is delicious!
  18. 19. I am new to Celiac diagnoses and so far: DISLIKES: Tried Tinkyada rice pasta spirals and seemed to be mushy. I may have overcooked them though. Don't really care for Ener-G light Tapioca bread...is ok with a burger slathered with ketchup on top and veggies, but only one slice is enough, tried 2 with ham in the middle and was tasting rather strange.....
  20. Update: Diagnosed with Celiac Sprue...a few weeks ago...so I am now on Warfarin with restricited green diet and can't eat gluten containing products...argh. I guess some have worse problems than this.
  21. I will keep in mind just to buy gluten free food, I guess my villi(or whatever they are called) were bent a little, but not gone and there was a little swelling when he did the endoscopy that is why he tested for the Celiac so that is why he thought I had a mild reaction. So anyway I will just buy gluten free food...I seen some gluten free oats...it was Bobs...
  22. Ok. So I am new here and just got diagnosed today with Celiac Sprue, my GI doc gave me some legitimate websites to look up information while he gets paperwork around to send me...he seems very good. And set me up with nutritionist. Although I have been reading throughout websites of totally forbidding gluten products, my doc said after looking at...
  23. I forgot that I came across an article about vitamin D3 and that it is fat soluble so I drank a little bit of milk with it or take it with my cereal in the mornings. So you need to take it with something that has fat in it.(As far as my understanding). I forgot to post this on my earlier post.
  24. That is a great idea, faxing in the work..my son has not been diagnosed, but with reading the posts on here with D just from running long distance, unorganization, forgetfullness..described me as a child, teen, and adult...just got notice I had a positive celiac biopsy and wonder if my son has Celiac. His teacher told me he hadn't been handing in his assignments...
  25. I am currently taking 5000IU as my levels were at 6 about 3 months ago, I take one a day per docs orders. I was afraid to take it at first because I was on Warfarin too...my doc didn't think it should interact. So my D levels are now at 52... he wants me between 25-70 according to what they told me on the phone. I am also taking 1 to 2 irons(Solgars brand...
