ARCHIVED Dizzy With Nausea
jknnej replied to printmaker81's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
What is low blood pressure in terms of numbers? Mine has always been 120 over 80 and lately has been like, 112 over 68. Dr. says it's OK but it's not normal for me. What numbers would be considered too low? -
ARCHIVED Looking For Help For Food Allergy Testing
jknnej replied to jmengert's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had Immuno Labs done and they were great. They even put together a 50 page brochure with specific diet plans, checklists of symptoms, etc. for you. It's really cool. They take your specific allergies and provide you with specific pamplets just on those foods and what families they're in, etc. It is very detailed and outlined and easy. -
celiac disease does suck! I went to St. Louis this weekend. On the way home, I had prepared chicken for right before the airport and long trip home. Well, of course hubby and I forgot the meal and it was left 45 minutes behind and we had to be at the airport in 45 minutes. Before this disease I would have grabbed a bite anywhere! Instead of spending our...

ARCHIVED Don't Know What To Think
jknnej replied to Darby's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm getting mine done on Monday and looking forward to it. I want to get it over with! My new GI doc thinks I don't have celiac disease but maybe acid reflux or H. pylori... Either way I look forward to it being over with! I left another dr. b/c I wasn't pleased with them, either. This new one was actually really good...on his wall there was an article... -
ARCHIVED My Endo And New Gi Dr
jknnej posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, I went to a new GI dr today. He was awesome; very nice and he listened to everything I had to say and wasn't condescending. He took the time to explain the things he told me, too, which I liked and he didn't treat me like I knew nothing. I have an endcoscopy scheduled for Monday, June 6. Although I have been gluten-free since Jan. 1 he is still testing... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Dental Problems?
jknnej replied to terryjean's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Wow, I didn't even think of getting glutened at the dentist. I haven't been there since diagnosis. Does any of the stuff they give you contain gluten? -
ARCHIVED Bacterial Enzyme Renders Gluten Harmless
jknnej replied to Emme999's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I would stay gluten-free for SURE but agree with Susan. When I have to eat out I get anxiety ridden. If I could take a pill where I knew I wouldn't get sick, I would still order gluten-free but not feel so worried. It would be GREAT! -
It is keeping me from having fun because I am so nauseated! I went to St. Louis this weekend and was miserable the entire time.... I don't want to go anywhere anymore!
-
I see a direct correlation for some of us with nausea and gluten-free diets. I know many people here used to have nausea and it got better when they went gluten-free, but for the other half of us, we never had nausea before going gluten-free! I always had stomach aches but they were always bloating/gas/diarrhea in nature..no nausea. Now I am nauseated...

ARCHIVED Don't Know What To Think
jknnej replied to Darby's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Darby, good to hear from you! I just got back from vacation, too. I have to sit in an aisle seat on the plane b/c of emetephobia-LOL. At least I can joke about it.... I was nauseated for a few days, too. Been feeling like crap. I have a new GI doc appt. tomorrow and I'm looking forward to figuring what's up. glad to hear you're feeling better. Did... -
ARCHIVED B-b-q Sauce
jknnej replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I won't eat the Sweet Baby Ray's unless someone here confirms they have eaten it and been fine VERY RECENTLY for a few reasons: 1. It has listed modified food starch, caramel coloring, and many other questionable ingredients. 2. the gluten-free list says it was verified a while back and not recently 3. The people at the company won't call me back and I... -
ARCHIVED Dizzy With Nausea
jknnej replied to printmaker81's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have already been checked for diabetes, low blood sugar, cortisol levels, and thyroid. None of the above. I went to St. Louis this weekend and was miserable the entire time. If I didn't know better I would swear I was pregnant, that's how bad the nausea is. But I'm not. I go to the GI doc tomorrow and I'm not leaving until I get nausea meds and some... -
What is vular vestibulitis? I tried tea tree oil suppositories, yeast defense, which has everything you guys have stated above, acidophilus, diflucan, etc. I have tried everything. I firmly believe I MUST go off the pill before I can clear this up. it's been over a year that I've had this infection and nothing has worked. I had really bad periods before...

Right now I am at a 1. There is something going on other than celiac disease...maybe an ulcer, maybe candida, I don't know but I am shaky and nauseeated every day.
-
Michelle, Did your doc try and give you Nystatin yet? I know that worked really well for Kaiti on this board. I am going to ask him about it on Tuesday. I think the yeast might be the cause of all of my nausea...I get nauseated a lot lately, non pregnancy related. I will let you know what happens... Jennifer

ARCHIVED Taco Seasoning
jknnej replied to sdore's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I use McCormicks' ORIGINAL taco seasoning with no problem. Was your beef 100% pure? Maybe your tummy is just upset with the spices or something else you ate was contaminated. One time I bought beef at the butcher, came home, and found a tiny bit of breading in it! It turns out it was stored right next to breaded chicken!!!! This could be your... -
I have taken acidophilus...I honestly think my biggest problem is that I've been on the pill for almost 11 years. It is time to get off! I am stopping next week and really looking forward to it. I have Nystatin and am hopefully going to take it next week if the doc says it's OK. I will probably take it even if he says not to because my other dr gave it...

I take the lowest possible pill-Aviane or the generic Alesse. I think I will actually feel a lot better; I certainly hope so and I think it will help clear up the candida problems I am having!

ARCHIVED Dizzy With Nausea
jknnej replied to printmaker81's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Heather, We could be twins. I have been gluten-free for 5 months but I am suffering from terrible nausea/dizziness now. It is utterly terrible and affecting my life. I think it is candida that is causing it and I am going to a new GI doc on Tuesday for a test. I got some herbal medicine from a dr. yesterday and it seemed to help. I get SO shaky and nauseated... -
Has anyone here gone off the pill after being on it for a long time (2 or more years?) Any side effects? My doc says there shouldn't be but I want to make sure... Jennifer PS Did any of you feel better after stopping the pill?
-
No dr. has actually checked me for candida. I am going to demand they do on Tuesday when I go to my new GI doc. I get white stuff in my mouth in the mornings and have a tiny bit of "female" candida as well, although it isn't full blown. I do have the Nystatin that I didn't take b/c it says not to take it on the bottle unless a dr. has diagnosed you with...

I just can't seem to get better. Everyday, at some part of the day, I get shaky and nauseated. Today I was at the dr. when it happened. She gave me some natural stuff for the nausea which did eventually subside but I am so emotionally drained from feeling this way every day. I don't know if it's b/c of candida, leaky gut, or an ulcer. I am going to a...

ARCHIVED Immodium And Gluten Attack
jknnej replied to Ally2005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can't live without Immodium. When I'm sick and have D, it all comes out but then I still FEEL like I have to go when I really don't. Immodium takes that icky feeling away, along with the cramping. I try not to take it unless I have to because I don't like medicine in general, but it gives me piece of mind, big time! -
My face looks really distorted in this picture b/c of the resizing....sigh. I'll have to figure something else out!! LOL

ARCHIVED Vomiting
jknnej replied to betharlene24's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Has he had any other tests? That isn't normal-he could have an ulcer or some sort of stomach obstruction-how old is he? Have you taken him to the hospital or does it clear up right after he gets sick? A student of mine who is 16 has this problem and they are giving her a bunch of tests including an upper GI, endoscopy, etc. I hope he gets better!!!
