  1. I bought some 5-HTP. I have not tried it yet-I usually like to ask my dr. first. I have an appointment with my natural dr. next week so we'll see what she says. I would love to use natural stuff first instead of real meds. Thanks, Michele, for understanding my phobia!! You're the best...
  2. Tell me more about the progesterone creams. I get terrible cramps and mood swings the week before and of my period. What are these creams and how do they help? Where can I get them?
  3. I have it and Nexium has saved my life.
  4. I'll actually just start with 50 mg so hopefully I won't have that issue! If I do, I will probably not take it anymore!
  5. Ok, today I bought some 5-HTP and some Gaba. These are both natural supplements that are supposed to help with anxiety and depression. Does anyone have any experience with these?
  6. Well, I am going to go off the pill this week. I'm gonna try it and see how I feel. Hopefully I won't be worse with the mood swings/etc I've been having lately. If anything, I would think I would be better! If I don't see a change in how I feel, I'll just go back on it cus' it's certainly more convenient and makes my periods lighter...we'll see. I'm going...

Wow, it is nice to feel that I'm not alone! I can't explain those feelings except to say that all of a sudden something will be very disturbing to me; sounds, TV, etc. I really can't watch anything gory at all anymore...odd isn't it??
  8. I'm assuming a couple of things: first, you haven't gotten your biopsy results yet, and second, that they tested you for other possible problems, like pancreatitis, appendicitis, etc...all the common things that would put you in that much pain. Make sure it's nothing serious before you proceed with any advice from us!!! GI doctors can sometimes see signs...
  9. I'm hoping that I will only take the xanax once in a while so I don't become accustomed to it. but, if I find myself needing it every day I will have to use something else! I have started taking Flax Oil; is this the same as fish oil? It is Omega 3, Omega 6, Omega 9 plus vitamin A. Or does it actually have to be fish oil? If so, I'll go get some today!
  10. I LOVE Citrucel Clear Mix. It is gluten-free, says so right on the label, mixes with juice, and produces a wonderful effect. Try it!
  11. Michelle, Is the 5HTP you were mentioning for anxiety? Depression? Or both...? I'm most concerned about anxiety right now... I will look it up on the net...what exactly is it and where do you get it? I wonder...why don't they consider drugs like Effexor habit forming? If it is terribly hard to get off of, wouldn't you always want to take it? I did get...
  12. Yes, I love yoga. It does help calm/relax me, but I'm having more of an issue with the actual physical symptoms of anxiety which don't seem to go away no matter what I do! I am definitely going to find a therapist, as I don't even want to take xanax without contributing to my treatment with a licensed therapist, but I think I do need the meds. It is so hard...
  13. Well, after reading all of this I'm not sure Effexor is for me... for those of you who told me a little about Xanax...my old dr. gave me the timed release kind that you take once a day...what do you know/think about that? I just seem to really feel better on Xanax when I take even half a pill. And it doesn't drug me up, either. I wonder if Effexor or Xanax...

I have checked my thyroid; it is fine. That was one of the first things I thought of! I have been given two prescriptions to choose from, Effexor and Xanax. I like Xanax so far, Effexor I have not tried because I am afraid to! I am so afraid of side effects like nausea that I have a hard time taking any meds at all. Xanax I know does not make me nauseated...
  15. I wonder if gluten-free in Canada is the same as US? I've heard it's not...does that mean I should call Nestle to see if the USA products are safe?
  16. Nick, I know how you feel about never feeling perfect. I never do, either. I have a friend or two that do not have Celiac that are like me also. We must have something else going on with our bodies. I would stay away from those crackers..better safe than sorry. My symptoms before going gluten-free were bloating, diarrhea, cramping. Now that is gone but...

Sometimes it's hard to trust your doctors because you know you feel bad but they aren't doing anything for you! As for the lupus thing, I'll look it up...but I've been to so many doctors...why wouldn't they test me or mention it? They know all of my symptoms...that is why I doubt I have it...but I'll look it up anyhow. Anyhow, I really don't want to take...
  18. I hate these weird symptoms, too. I feel your pain on the nausea, Matiida. I have it, too, and it's the single worst feeling I think humans can experience! I've been gluten-free for 6 months and it still hasn't improved...

I thought you said Lupus symptoms were hair loss, fatigue, and achy joints. I don't have any of those symptoms so I don't think that could be it....my energy level is fine, I don't ache, and I don't have hair loss... I actually tried to take Zoloft but it made me terribly nauseated..literally gagging and you know how your head "buzzes" right before you...

Patty, what medicine did you take and for how long?

    ARCHIVED Miserable

Thanks, guys, I do eat pretty healthy; not really much junk. I have a few cookies here and there but that's about it! I don't have the symptoms of Lupus that you mentioned...I've checked into Fibromyalgia but don't have all the symptoms for diagnosis...Chronic Fatigue or Epstein Barr? Maybe..but I'm not so tired that I'm dragging all of the time. My energy...
  22. Does anyone know if any of the Geni Soy shakes are gluten-free? I've called them twice with no response...any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jennifer

Thanks, guys. I really would like to do this without meds. Besides, if I ever did want a baby, you can't be taking anti-depressants. I did just take half of a Xanax, but I only take those when I'm feeling really terrible, like today. The last time I took half of one was in April! What I don't want is a drug you have to take EVERY day that you can't go...

    ARCHIVED Miserable

Hi all, Thanks for your nice responses. It makes me feel better having this support system. I wondered today if maybe the nurse took my blood pressure wrong? Yes I do get dizzy and nauseated, plus a "shaky" feeling on the inside. I have crazy dreams and sometimes feel this weird morbidness; I can't explain it. Lately I can't watch anything the least...

82/60 is NOT normal for me and I asked both the nurse and dr and they both said it was fine.??? I've done food allergy testing and all came back normal...even the things I am slightly allergic to are not testing high-meaning they don't give me a reaction. I am so depressed right now due to the constant illness, but I don't even want to take depression...
