ARCHIVED Diareah? It's Liquid/oily
jknnej replied to antmimi's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You poor thing! Hang in there.... What is the SCD diet? celiac disease is celiac disease, but what is the S for? Maybe because you are on liquids that your stools aren't solid? my dr. asked me if my stools were oily when we had our first appt but he didn't tell me what that would have signified (my stools were not oily). go to the dr. right away I would... -
You poor thing! We all know what it's like-believe me, I've been battling nausea for months, and not just when I get glutened. Ask your dr. for a prescription of phenegran or zofran, something to stop you from throwing up. It REALLY helps when you're in a pinch-I don't recommend taking it regularly, but if you can't keep anything down, I'd take it b/c you...

I SO agree with Michelle. When people are eating Twinkies or cake or whatever and rubbing it in my face I usually allude to the fact that I don't need the extra fat and that I like to eat healthy. It's an awesome feeling, because most people don't have the willpower to eat like this AND to be honest most of them are overweight in the first place because...

ARCHIVED Biopsy Results?
jknnej replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't know much about it, so I can't help you per say, but my dr. said my lower stomach had "mild patchy erethyma" which my regular dr. said just means redness. He said this is an indication of gastritis which could possibly be caused by the bacteria h. pylori. No bacteria? That is strange....Usually we have both good and bad bacteria in our intestines... -
I personally LOVE PF Chang's, but I can't eat there anymore. Every single time I get sick. I don't know if it's because of gluten or because their food is high in fats or whatever, but I have learned the hard way to stay away from there. One of my friends has a similar problem when she eats there. It sucks cus' I used to absolutely love their food.

ARCHIVED I Have A New Problem Now
jknnej replied to mytummyhurts's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, that sucks about your insurance. Why don't you ask your dr. if you could try Nexium for a while. That helps reflux, but it probably won't help if you have a Schatzki's Ring...I think the only answer to that is to have the scope done again. But it may just be reflux and It could really help you... -
Ok, it was a bit easier for me b/c I am more of a dessert person than anything else and I can still have dessert. Plus, I lost 13 lbs. after going gluten-free, so now I like my new shape. But, when the cravings do hit it is hard. Last week I went to visit family and they tried but kept forgetting and serving me things and eating pancakes in front of me...

ARCHIVED Recognize This Symptom?
jknnej replied to Matilda's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Are you saying that Nexium helped you? I have this same nausea and it is driving me crazy. Had my scope done two days ago and I have mild gastritis. He gave me Nexium to start today. I was hoping it would help...does it??? -
ARCHIVED I Have A New Problem Now
jknnej replied to mytummyhurts's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Did you have a bad experiene with your endo? Mine was pretty easy and now I can swallow better. Maybe it hadn't developed last year? I don't know how long these things take to form. Mine had only been happening recently. -
ARCHIVED I Have A New Problem Now
jknnej replied to mytummyhurts's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have had this problem, too, for a while now. Yesterday when I had my endoscopy he showed me pictures of my Schatzki's Ring. This is when your esophogus swells up or whatever and it feels like it's hard to swallow. He dialated mine using a little balloon and I already feel the difference. You should talk to your GI dr. about this. I don't know if it... -
ARCHIVED Some Endo Results
jknnej replied to jknnej's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I asked my dr. today; not the GI doc, but my regular dr. He said erethyma is simply redness, like maybe because of all of the acid my stomach was irritated. He took blood to test my thyroid, so we'll see what happens. I'm feeling a bit better now. -
ARCHIVED Some Endo Results
jknnej posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well, I had my test done yesterday. He took several biopsies of my stomach and intestine for celiac disease and H.Pylori. What he noticed with the naked eye was: Antral Gastritis-mild AND Schatzki's Ring, so he dialated my esophagus. He also said I had mild patch erethyma in the antrum. I was too out of it to ask questions and he told my hubby all was... -
I've already been tested for hypoglycemia, diabetes, etc. I've had sugar, no sugar, etc. and nothing seems to change my symptoms. We'll see what my test reveals today..I'm about to leave for my endoscopy. Talk to you later, Jennifer

I'm actually thinking I could have general anxiety disorder. I have almost ALL of the symptoms..... I'm so confused! I will ask my dr. on Tuesday. I have my endoscopy tomorrow-

Wow, what will they make it out of and do you have to worry about cross contaminaton? Kati, you used to work at TCBY, right? Are these cakes safe? Looks like there's hope for my birthday yet....

I'm starting to think my symptoms could be anxiety: dizziness, chest pain, feeling like I can't breath, migraines, upset stomach, shakiness. So far every doctor has not been able to find anything physically wrong with me...I know I have IBS but I wonder if the rest of my symptoms are anxiety disorder.... Just food for thought. I'll ask my dr. more about...

Who cares HOW you tell someone? Each of our personalities is different. Some of us are very direct and can tell our life stories within minutes of meeting someone; others don't do that. It doesn't matter how you tell someone as long as you are being yourself. If they can't handle it or the way I choose to tell it, they won't like me anyway!

ARCHIVED Can I Get Diagnosed After 2 Years Gluten Free?
jknnej replied to Tom15034's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm having my biospy after 6 months gluten-free and my GI doc, who was voted best GI doctor in Phoenix, is OK doing it. But he is also testing for H.Pylori and reflux b/c I have those symptoms as well. But he said he will take several samples from my small intestines to test for celiac disease. He also believes, though, from my blood that I do not have... -
Hi there, I wish I knew something about your situation-but don't freak yourself out! I don't know what it means to have low platelets but I know that I often worry too much about something that will turn out to be nothing. I hope someone else hear knows about this so they can help reassure you- We're here if you need us!

ARCHIVED Dizzy With Nausea
jknnej replied to printmaker81's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
0.002 would still be too much-don't use it! that's probaby Rice Dream. Try Pacific brand. It is non dairy, non soy, and tastes great. I get the hazelnut flavor. Yes, .002 is too much!!!! -
Ok, so I just need a little reassurance about it. It's on Monday and I'm a bit scared. Will it hurt? Will I throw up? Gag a lot? I have an absolute terror about throwing up!!! Please don't share horror stories-but any good experiences would be great!!

In the nicest possible way I am suggesting that anyone who is not sensitive enough to understand what you tell them about your diet and be supportive of it, you should not waste your time with. There are too many wonderful people out there. Besides, look at all of the vegans out there who are married, or people on regular diets. I don't think they have any...

Does anyone have a list of things MSG is in? I have migraines and would like to attempt to stay away from it.... what is it listed as on labels?

ARCHIVED My Endo And New Gi Dr
jknnej replied to jknnej's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hopefully I don't have H. Pylori! I am getting my thyroid checked next week. Last year it was normal but things can change in a year, so we'll see. Hyperthyroidism would make the most sense with my symptoms: weight loss, voice changes, tremors, nausea, etc. I just want answers!
