  1. Thank you everyone for your responses! You all are obviously far more educated on the subject than I am. I am seeing my doc this Friday, so I'll see what she says. I'm hoping I'll have a lot more energy after I get this deficiency fixed. Do any of you think that this deficiency could be involved in a half-numb big toe on my left foot and also possibly the...
  2. Is that OTC? What if I did both? Overkill? Too much? Or good combination of quickness (injection) and stability (pills)?
  3. I recently had some bloodwork done and my doctor emailed me to tell me that everything looks good CBC, Hemogram, Vitamin A level, and even my TTG continues to fall (started at 186, after 5 weeks gluten-free was 65, and now 4 months gluten-free she said it is a "weak positive" (haven't gotten the exact number yet) I'm assuming that means somewhere between...
  4. From what I've read (could be wrong!) the most common type of cancer in untreated celiac is intestinal lymphoma and even then it doesn't happen too, too often. I don't *think* a celiac's colon cancer risk is heightened because of having celiac. What have others read?
  5. I have had LOTS of positive experiences at restaurants. There are MANY places out there that are very willing to accommodate you. I stick to the ones that have gluten-free menus, because then I know that they most likely know what they are talking about and have been trained on it. Most of the gluten-free menus I've seen have been created in conjunction with...
  6. I don't currently have any in the freezer, but all this fry-talk is making want to go out and buy some!! It's definitely a momentous occasion when you can eat fries at a restaurant!! I so enjoyed the beach b/c they had a Cheeseburger in Paradise and and Margaritaville (both with dedicated fryers) There is NO WHERE I can get that around here, unless I make...
  7. Try some Miralax! (it's gluten-free)
  8. Gas X is gluten free
  9. I know there are multiple types of Ore Ida fries that are okay to eat. I can't remember off the top of my head what my books list. I'm not around the books right now. I know there were several types of that brand.
  10. I think it depends on what they give you and how you react to it. I was given Versed and Fentanyl and was out of it for a long time. As soon as they injected it, I was out. Don't remember a thing at all. Apparently I was doing all kinds of crazy things and don't remember any of it. I also had memory issues for 2 days after. I repeatedly asked the same questions...
  11. I believe there is Hormel brand canned chicken that says gluten free right on the label.
  12. I have 2 gluten-free products books that claim Great Value Brand canned chicken is GLUTEN FREE... Hmmm?
  13. I got mine at Martin's (when visiting family in Virginia)
  14. I've made 3 pizzas with those. I like them. & surprisingly, I think they taste even better the 2nd day! They do break/crumble pretty easily

    ARCHIVED Dentist Visit

*UPDATE* Well the dentist office called me back again. They said that they couldn't know for sure so they were gonna fax me the product information so I could look at the ingredients. Well, I think they should have to know what is in their products, but I guess that's besides the point. I said okay, thinking I could pretty much tell from the ingredients...
  16. I have had good luck checking with glutenfreedrugs.com and emailing the clinical pharmacist that runs and updates the site. He lists an email on the site. He is always very helpful and seems to know his stuff.

    ARCHIVED Dentist Visit

I have had the worst luck with people not understanding or having NO clue what I'm talking about when I ask about gluten ingredients in things. From people saying "Oh no there's no sugar in this" to telling me they checked the ingredients and everything is A-OK! because the actual WORD gluten is not listed in the ingredients!! (I wish it was that easy!!!...
  18. Since finding the gluten-free bisquick, I have made pancakes twice and biscuits. Both are sooo YUMMY!!! I can't wait to try that strawberry shortcake recipe, it looks soo good!
  19. *UPDATE* Back from Myrtle Beach! I just spent 8 days in Myrtle Beach and I wanted to share the restaurants I had great experiences with, in case anyone else is planning to go there. I found that there are MANY safe places to eat. Joe's Crab Shack has a gluten free menu and I had no problems there. (Their crab legs are awesome!) I also had great experiences...
  20. I was looking at recipes online for it the other day and it specifically stated that you cannot just substitute it into the old recipes. It won't work out right due to it being completely different ingredients. They have many recipes listed for just the gluten-free Bisquick!
  21. Get your dentist to give you liquid dexamethasone. It works wonders! If I swab it a few times a day, mine will generally be gone in 1-2 days.
  22. Thanks for all the comments everyone! I was under the impression most people got them on the inside of their lower lip. I am glad to hear I'm not the only one with tongue problems. I used to get them more often than I do now, but I have a huge one on the side of my tongue now and it's really bothering me. I get them whenever I bite myself as well and sometimes...
  23. Hey Everyone! I am having annoying problems with mouth sores...what I would call a canker sore or an ulcer. I know this can be associated with Celiac disease (which I have)... To my point--- I am just curious to find out if you all get sores in different places in your mouths or do they tend to happen in just one part of your mouth, i.e., inside of lips...
  24. I definitely think it's a Betty Crocker product. When you look up Bisquick recipes online, it goes to the Betty Crocker website. They have a great amount of gluten-free recipes on there!
  25. I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! I AM SOOO EXCITED!!! Found in WalMart in Lexington, KY
