  1. Hi! I'm 20, female, live in Kansas..... I was diagnosed September of last year, there is only one other person in my family with celiac disease, and we aren't close. (2nd cousin...) I guess that's about it....
  2. At least I'm not the only one, that's good to know I don't think this is DH because I recently had my first bought of DH last summer....it was awful.
  3. So, I've always had fairly clear skin right? I'm 20 and I've only had a dozen pimples in my life But I've noticed that whenever I get glutened I can expect to get a few of them within the next couple of days. Does anyone else have this issue?
  4. I had a convo while in GA during my last visit with my Dad's sister (who is supposedly a nurse?) that went like this: Me: I can't have ANY wheat Her: So you can have white bread? Me: No, white bread is just bleached wheat Her: So you can have boxed mac and cheese? Me: No, noodles are made from wheat Her: But you can still have Betty Crocker...
  5. I totally vote for New Zealand! I LOVE the Lord of the Rings and totally wanna see the Hobbit holes! ;-) We should make it all gluten-free!
  6. That's just awful! I truly hope you didn't tip that person! :-/ People like that just annoy me to death!
  7. Thank you for all the replies! As far as Applebee's go, I used to have the BEST luck going there. I'm under suspicion to believe it's the Pepsi...I know that sounds crazy but at Applebee's that serve Coke I don't usually get sick. Go figure As for the Island! I vote for anywhere warm!! I'm sick of the cold already! As for day 3 of this...
  8. Treet is the cheaper southern version of spam, I used to love it a lot! And HEAR HEAR!!! I agree we need to get an island!!
  9. Last week I posted about how I got mysteriously getting glutened from what I though was hamburger meat, turns out it was Treet (Open Original Shared Link) I was an idiot not to notice the "contains WHEAT" thing, I guess the recipe changed on me or something..... And to top it off I got a MAJOR glutening yesterday from Applebee's. I feel like trash.....
  10. You can kind some foods cheap at (Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned) Mostly I try to find 'regular' foods that I can eat...and then only buy the substitutes I HAVE to, like noodles and cookies and such Then again i live in the middle of no where, the closest store I can find gluten-free noodles is 45 minutes away
  11. So do I react fast? I can usually know within 40 minutes if I've been glutened..... At most an hour or two? And I'm like SUPER sensitive as well
  12. Thanks, I've got the RX for it from my doctor so now problem there, just had a bit of a tight budget lately... And since I've never been, um, active, It wasn't to high on my priority list until this month, I've never had a glutening and this at the same time.... I still wanna just crawl in a hole and possibly kill all males.. roflol
  13. Thanks It sucks Hope you figure it out and feel better soon!
  14. I recently got CC'ed from meat at Sam's Club....I don't know about Walmart though
  15. Where did the Patty come from? How was it cooked?
  16. So I was gonna start a new topic, but this seems as good a place as any to ask....And it's kinda hard to ask because it's embarrassing. I'm 20 years old, and I've had rough periods ever since I was 13 and had a cyst so huge rupture they thought it was my appendix, I was sick as a dog. The pill helped, but I've had to go off it for a few different reasons...
  17. Oh my gosh, I feel your pain. Im a sophomore at a CHRISTIAN university (I put this in caps for the stupidity that follows). If you live on campus you HAVE to have a meal plan. So I live off campus with my parents (I'm not old enough according to my colleges rules to live alone) because I can't eat ANYTHING in the Caf. And when I became over absent (after...
  18. HEAR HEAR! I hate it when people tell me "At least you can loose weight" or "Maybe I should do that and get thin" It irks me so!
  19. Oh Gosh! lol How could I forget organic! Also if it's "low in carbs" I should be able to eat it, right? *DEEP SIGH*
  20. My sister is a vegetarian (by choice) and for the first few months after I was diagnosed she accused me of just making a choice not to eat wheat. Until I had my first major glutening, I was sick as a dog, and everyone around me knew it. After that she's layed off a little. And she isn't the only one in my family who just ASSUMES I made a choice. It really...
  21. I got CC'ed once from letting my Dad take a drink of my poweraide after he'd been eating a hamburger, then I drank after him..... It was awful. I was horribly sick. So I can understand your concern...
  22. I'm VERY sensitive to CC, but I assumed it was just a cover their butts kind of thing Go figure.... But at this point we think it's CC, as I'm still feeling the symptoms
  23. My dad ate the same meat so it's not food poisoning I usually buy at my local store, they don't use any wheat in there butchers area.... And they make all the hamburger meat Guess I'll have to stick with that even though it costs a little more...
  24. I never buy the frozen beef patties, I HATE the way they taste. And I hate buying meat at walmart/sam's club but it was cheap and since I feed up to 5 people day cheap is important I'm still feeling way awful, brain fog, headache, stomachache, joint pain, etc. I guess now I just get to suffer through it, as Dad says I can't eat that meat anymore
  25. This was fresh meat, 10lbs of 93/7 lean hamburger meat. There pork didn't have any side effects... But now that I think about it there was a "warning all meats processed in same place as" sign, and wheat one was of them. But all walmart and sams have those signs nowadays to cover themselves...right?
