  1. I know how you feel...every morning at our church everyone eats cinnamon rolls, and even though I didn't like them before I was diagnosed I feel left out because now I can't eat them even if I wanted too... I'm super super sensitive and I've been diagnosed for a year (I'm 20), and somedays I still feel like crying when my friends have pizza, or there...
  2. Thank you so much!!
  3. So my best friend is a deaf communications major and to get into this program she needs to sign and introduction to herself. And she wants to include something about Celiac because it will be easier to understand in ASL for the deaf than written words... Only problem is she can't find ANY signs for wheat, rice, etc. And I'm thinking there HAS to be someone...
  4. Oh My Gosh....That sounds like a dream come true!!! (And yes I can feel my arteries clogging as I read that ;-))
  5. I would have sent it back. (or had my dad do it...) I am SUPER sensitive, I get sick if someone drinks my drink and I drink it and they've had something with wheat in it during the day. And I can't eat the "Made in same facility as wheat" stuff. I get so ill.... I get way to sick for way to long to risk something like that... *edited to add* Plus...
  6. This is becoming my life. I'm starting to be paranoid. It's been a year and I can't believe how good I feel when I'm off gluten that I'm afraid of gluten. I'm afraid of getting sick. Looking for a bathroom, always having to know where the closest one is. I hate that. And I seem to be becoming MORE sensitive than I was last year! And I was already very sensitive...
  7. An 8 oz can of room temp coke always helps me. Sounds crazy but it works. Also jello-o water. (boil water and put jello-o powder in 2qt container fill half full with boiling water and stir really good. Then add some Cool water to fill it up and drink. (also gets rid of migraines no joke))
  8. My gallbladder litterly died because of celiac. About a year before I was diagnosed
  9. Now I get to deal with the 'healing' process and things like spastic colons and mood swings
  10. Thank you for the help, I stopped taking it and I feel better already I still have the post-gluten symptoms and that was the only non-safe thing I had
  11. Is there any legal standard for gluten-free?
  12. Anyone?
  13. My class has a STRICT attendance policy and last semester I did horribly because I got sick and missed to many classes. I've already had to miss classes this semester too I just hope this time they let me pass
  14. I took some Rexall pain medication that said GLUTEN FREE on the front. I glanced at the ingredients and didn't see anything out of the ordinary but after I took it I got really sick...and I need to know if "Pregelatinzed starch" is made from wheat? The sooner the better, I have school tomorrow and need to know if I have the 'tummy' virus going around...
  15. I love carrying mine everywhere with me... It's awesome
  16. I have the gluten-free grocery guide on my iPhone and while I don't have to use it as much any more I still use it if I need info about a paticular thing like 'Hey, I wonder what flavor of soda I can have' or whatever...
  17. I'm in college but I live off campus, so I bring my lunch everyday... It's cheaper, safer, and tons of kids do it to save money

  20. Thank you! I've been going crazy wondering why if I had PI it hadn't gone away because it's been over a week. The itching is insane!!! And I can't wear shorts because of it and it's only a 100degrees. I use sea salt because I like the flavor more....so I should be ok thank you again!!
  21. Actually I have no idea how I could have gotten PI since I've always avoid the stuff like the plague since my family has a history of being VERY allergic. And it appears to be random...I've had it for almost two weeks and it appeared first on one leg then the other and has worked it's way up the second leg but kinda stopped on the first.... I had just...
  22. It's funny that this topic popped up as I've just gotten my first reaction to poison ivy/oak/sumac....At first I thought it might be DH but a nurse friend of my swears it's P/I...Its not healing very fast at all and I'm wondering if the glutening has anything to do with it? *ugh* That's my life
  23. I don't know if this helps.... But whenever I get glutened I often look like I haven't slept in months...the area under my eyes gets really dark.... Lasts a few days to a few weeks depending...
  24. Here is a conversation I had with my Dad's sister. She's supposed to be a nurse...and supposedly the smart one?!? ME: I can't eat anything with wheat in it... HER: Oh. So you can only eat White bread? (I HATE THIS LINE!!!) ME: No. White bread is just bleached wheat. I can't have any wheat at all... HER: OK...So how bout this cake mix? *holding...
