  1. Temptress! You kill me. I love good fish and chips - the real thing, not the fake insipid purchased icky commercial stuff. Oh, and did I neglect to mention my homemade tartar sauce with lots of capers? Oh, man. I almost can't stand it. The pecan rolls are good but need a couple of tweaks. At least they unroll like they should... And...
  2. That is quite the surgery! So sorry you have to go through this. Your good attitude and outlook will go a long way toward your healing. You must be looking forward to the reunion with your Mom. I'm glad you've got a great support system. Keep us posted, please. I will be praying for you.
  3. I am making crispy baked fish (cod) and chips with a light batter and crispy coating. Oh, and onion rings, too. Crudites with Green Goddess dressing. Dessert? Today I made pecan cinnamon buns you ROLL out. Delicious. You can actually peel the layers apart.
  4. Raspberry mango coconut smoothie.
  5. Sounds good to me! How did you like the crust?
  6. Hi, Colleen. I've used both Tizanidine and Tramadol together and it did nothing. I could not even tell I was taking anything! But my pain goes well beyond FMS. I have chronic back pain from herniated disks, IT band syndrome, chostocondritis (chest), arthritis, etc. And I am still young (relatively). I go for weekly massages, have seen the chiro...
  7. Oh, brother . I really did, didn't I? I definitely meant milk! Here are just a couple of hundreds of blogs who swear to this method (as do I): Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  8. Really? Flexeril did absolutely zero for me, either. Happy it works for you! Hopefully some day I can find something that helps - I've tried over 20 meds.
  9. The best way to add bread to meatballs/loaf recipes is to soak it in bread first (a culinary trick). Just made some today myself, actually. The meat remains moister. Make sure the breadcrumbs are not finely ground - small chunks are best. In fact, I just tear my bread into chunks and soak. The milk does the work for you.
  10. Oh, wow. That is quite the story. I'm so happy for this new opportunity. Who knows? It could be THE job you've been looking for. Tell us all about it, ok? Have a wonderful first day, and next day, and next day...
  11. Thanks, Sora! You're sweet. Don't forget to post back when you try it. I'm always keen to hear about those who try fresh fennel (which I love).
  12. Mixed Greens with Toasted Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds and White Balsamic Vinaigrette
  13. Sweet and Spicy Cocktail Meatballs Saffron Pilaf with Almonds Creamed Peas
  14. Same here. The 2000 mg did nothing but make me feel like a stumbling dork, bumping into walls and such. I tried another again two nights ago (I am always hopeful!) and it did not help.
  15. Yes - please do! I wish you great success with it.
  16. I used to take it and it was gluten free. However, you must contact the manufacturer for every batch just to be sure. Hope it works for you. Unfortunately it did absolutely nothing for me. Let us know how it goes - I am always curious about others who are prescribed it.
  17. Today I made Eggs Benedict and had some frozen green grapes.
  18. Vichyssoise Soup Homemade Italian Breadsticks with Fresh Green Olive Oil and Fleur de Sel
  19. Glad you found a recipe you like. My dad was a big game hunter so I was raised on elk and moose. My husband used to hunt when he had time. Sometimes I would go along with him to camp (we have a camper). I would stay in the camper and read and cook and have steaming hot chocolate ready for him when he got "home" from hunting, often with snow on the ground...
  20. Speaking from experience I would go with the lady fingers. You can buy them or make them. I have an excellent recipe for them if you are interested. They stand up to tiramisu very well.
  21. You actually do not need to replace your mixer unless dough has somehow managed to cling to something that was not perfectly clean. However, if your attachments are plastic and scratched I can see how it would be possible. I have a very expensive KitchenAid stand mixer, professional series, and did not want to replace it. It can be thoroughly cleaned,...
  22. Don't panic! I felt the same most definitely. Food is my life and obsession. You know what? If you enjoy baking, you can actually enjoy decent gluten-free bread that is better than any you can buy. I made fantastic breadsticks the other day. If I crave something, I make it, including pastry, pizza crust, doughnuts, breads, cinnamon buns. Sure, they...
  23. I understand this as well. My husband and I are almost reclusive and I am beginning to see it is not entirely healthy - we are designed to seek companionship and fellowship with others outside our homes. We live in a wealthy oil town that is extremely transient. People do not move to live here long term. We do attend a church but I have such severe chronic...
  24. How many time zones do you cross? When I fly internationally I always have a couple of off, almost ill days. Very nauseous, etc. after returning back. Jetlag can really make one ill.
  25. Leftover roast chicken from last night but am re-purposing with almost a picatta sauce over celeriac/potato puree and steamed green beans. Add to that amazing Italian breadsticks I baked this morning that are soft on the inside with a great brown crisp crust.
