  2. I'm not sure about either one (lactose or casein). But, you've helped just by identifying that they're 2 different things and thank you. My search continues.......
  3. OMG! I was just getting ready to post about rice milk....TJ's brand! I've been having symptoms, too. I REALLY need to read labels ALWAYS! It's difficult to tell when I'm glutened or having an allergic reaction to something because I don't get D or vomiting (thank God). I have OAS (oral allergy symptoms) to certain foods (watermelon that I KNOW of)...
  4. Good morning, Dellers. Interested in your post because I have twitching and muscle atrophy in my left hand. Do you have any muscle wasting or weakness? Are you able to touch the tips of your fingers to your thumb?

  7. We need a list of acronyms and what they stand for...please? What the heck is DH? Sometimes I think I know what CC is, but then I read it in another post that seems to be using it for a different reason.... D = Diarrhea CC = Cross Contamination? DH = ?? Etc. Etc. Etc.
  8. I read a lot of people have anxiety. I'm curious to know if their symptoms (not only of anxiety) has caused people to abandon you? Or, treat you poorly?
  9. So, if it was the peas, if they were washed before cooking, would that have solved the problem? These are the "hidden" glutens that are so difficult...would ever have thought that a bag of split peas for soup could possibly be cc'd?? You think you're eating clean by making your own split pea soup, but.........
  10. I'm considering dairy now. I have low-fat lactaid milk every day...about 2 cups...no problem that I know of. But, I've recently been eating yogure (plain, low- fat) and am having some problems. Also, I've been using fresh ginger lately and that's upsetting my stomach..making it burn. Suggestions?
  11. I'd have sinus problems too. Post nasal drip.
  12. Any experience with this product? A client gave me a whole case...diet and regular.
  13. When we have a cold or the flu, it's always wise to REST and drink plenty of fluids...maybe taking some cold medication....and recovery will be faster. So, when we're glutened, will rest, fluids, advil help us recover faster? Or, does it make any difference?
  14. Thanks everyone! As far as I know, I'm not allergic to soy or dairy...all I'm dealing with is the gluten...one thing at a time. But, as they say, once I get the gluten out of my system, I seem to be noticing other issues (i.e., gum) that might be allergies rather than gluten. I may have noticed that with whatever is in the gum, I have a different reaction...
  15. Thanks...so sorbitol, manitol, etc., aren't necessarily gluten, but more of an allergen?
  16. Geeeezzzz! I've been wondering why I've been feeling so bad...like I've been glutened! Here are the ingredients of Flare 5 gum a friend gave me. "Natural and artificial flavors" concerns me. Anything else obvious? SORBITOL, GUM BASE, GLYCEROL, MANNITOL, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, LESS THAN 2% OF HYDROGENATED STARCH HYDROLYSATE, ASPARTAME, ACESULFAME...
  17. U go girl! I try to be understanding that unless you don't have it, you can't understand it. But to be disrespectful like that? No excuse!

  19. Been taking papaya enzyme for upset stomach, but wish I could have alka seltzer. I know this has been discussed in posts before, but when I search, the subject about alka seltzer is somewhere in everyone's posts...don't feel like reading through all posts...just want to know. Also, someone was talking about a book that has a list of all foods gluten ...

  22. There are so many weird symptoms we can blame on gluten! But, how can we tell the difference to being glutened or having an allergy to a certain food, product, chemical (even in non-food products)??? Get this...I roll my hair in brush rollers and use bobby pins to secure them. I just realized that opening the bobby pins with my teeth could have been...
  23. Can you just make a meat and cheese "Party Tray"...use Udis bread (looks the most normal to me) and all the condiments (mayo, mustard, tomatoes, onions) basically make it look like a tray you bought at Safeway. Open the packages of gluten-free lunch meat, roll them, lay the cheese down in a pattern, arrange the bread in a basket with a cloth or paper napkin...
  24. How 'bout fixing them a professional looking lunch tray with your gluten-free deli meats and cheese on it? And, even sneak in the gluten-free bread (Udi's looks most like regular bread to me). Have all your gluten-free fixings (mayo, catsup, mustard)? Have lotsa fresh fruit (apples, bananas, grapes). Cheese and gluten-free crackers, beer and water, iced...

The unquenchable thirst, and ravenous appetite was a dead give away I was diabetic! Geeezzzz! That was 26 years ago. Now a Celiac diagnosis in May 2010...I remember having slight symptoms about 2 years ago. I'm what I've heard...
