  1. Okay, so for the first time in I can't tell you how long, I decided to write down all of my symptoms of being glutened a little while back. That's when I noticed that I get EXTREME fatigue. Not necessarily to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open for any amount of time, but to where I absolutely MUST lie down. But then, within three hours, I felt...
  2. I was just wondering, if I don't get DH, do I have to worry about things such as face wash/body wash/things that DO NOT go near my lips if I'm not dh?
  3. I almost cried today in the dining hall!! I was browsing for something I could hopefully eat, and then I saw that there were steamed veggies. I was in line, and the girl serving DROPPED A ROLL IN THEM. Then, she plucks it out, and sets the roll aside. I got out of line thinking, well, can't eat THAT now. And then I had a horrible thought: How many times has...
  4. So, I'm in my freshman year of college, and eating here has become pretty much not an option. Even foods that I'm told are safe have given me incredible CC issues. So, until Christmas, what should I do? Any advice? I can't afford to eat out every day, but I certainly can't afford to be sick every day, either. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  5. It seems to me, that after I get glutened and start feeling better, I tend to crave glutenous foods. Its as if my body enjoys being tortured! Luckily I use the good sense my momma gave me and DON'T give into these cravings (most of the time..:X), but I was just curious if this happens to anyone else.
  6. Awe. Someone needs a hug!! I understand completely about the "What DO you eat?" question. I know its because they care, but there are people out there who have it far worse than I do. I'm going to Thanksgiving at my best friend's house (I'm in college in TN, and my family is in PA, so going home isn't quite an option), and its harder on me than I think...
  7. My local grocery store carries "all-meat" bologna. Does this mean it wouldn't contain any gluten-laden fillers? Or is it a "better-safe-than-sorry" situation and I should ask to check anyway?
  8. When I'm stressed, I'll sleepwalk. It hasn't happened recently..last June, I believe was the last time it happened. Not gluten related, though. At least...I don't think.
  9. This absolutely blows my mind!! There are a multitude of people in my area with Celiac disease, most of which are school-aged, or recently graduated like myself. I believe that if any poo like this would have gone on in my district, there would be many other parents at the door to that principal's office, not just the ones affected. I feel rather blessed...
  10. Honestly, I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Its better to have them line it with fresh foil and use clean tongs than your poor son have stomach troubles while camping out. That doesn't sound like a very fun time to me.
  11. Wow! Thanks everyone. I never really realized how many options there really were...I guess I was too preoccupied with the fact that I couldn't have "normal," gluten-laden cookies that really aren't good for me anyway. Thanks again!! <3
  12. has had the gluten scared out of her!! :o! :)

  13. Well, I got the gluten scared out of me with this post. I'm the same way, I've had celiac since April, and I'm not very dedicated to it AT ALL. Until now!!!! Wow. This is some scary crap that can happen to us. O_o
  14. I completely believe gluten can cause this. I've had the most erratic periods of any of my close friends. Sometimes it's 40 days apart and lasts 7 days, others it's 35 days apart and lasts 5 days...I never know when I'm going to get it, either. I went from having it in Feb this year, until not having it until April. Once I went gluten-free, though, they haven...
  15. I'm allergic to caramel coloring. Coke is a definite no-no for me. As others have stated, it could be the HFCS in it.
  16. In April, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Well, I've always been overweight, and I'm trying to lose weight, but taking gluten out of my diet has posed in issue in that I'm always hungry. I have replaced some foods with gluten-free others, but I figured "if I just don't buy the cookies without gluten, I won't eat them." WRONG. I end up binging on full...
