  1. Yvonne- I had to get rid of a ton of my lipsticks, so I understand the frustration. Unfortunately I do not have a detailed list for the each of the brands you mentioned, but someone else might. In the meantime, I e-mailed each of them to get a list. I'll let you know when I hear back. I am sure that some of the their types of lipsticks will NOT be gluten...
  2. thanks for the recipes--i've wanted to try tabouli before. no excuses now!
  3. my mom's an HR VP (knows ALL about insurance!), so if you want more insurance details on that coverage i mentioned, i should be able to get you some more... help you know what to look for...
  4. hey! thanks for the info! those recipes are great. i am a member of delphi, but i never end up going on...i should. thanks again!

    ARCHIVED Grrrr....

Heather-- Can't believe you had someone say they wish they had celiac disease !! I have a pre-diabetic coworker who told me a few months ago "What you have is a lot easier than what I have. I have to work really hard, yours isn't such a big deal." Let's just say he proved his ignorance on the topic ! PS--He is like pre type-II, his doctor says he doesn...
  6. kathy, my husband and i eat there a lot, but i've never had those noodles. my last visit the manager brought me my menu and told me they always double ck the kitchen for contamination issues. i'm sure there is variation in how each store handles. you could try calling their corporate and asking?? sorry i don't know
  7. Ab--depending on what you want for insurance, there are other options. If you only want coverage for major expenses, you can get a major medical policy, it is far less a month than a full coverage policy. However, it won't pay for drs visits or prescriptions.
  8. that's cool heather... cool for your friend to be bold and get ready to put the smack down on ya for a non gluten-free cookie !
  9. Heather-- What was the home remedy? I'm curious--and always looking to stay away antibiotics... after having been on them nonstop as a child/teenager! Glad you're better!
  10. Sheila- Good advice above... I would echo--there is still a ton of food you can have--m&ms to reeces to certain chips. And there is good gluten-free pizza, breads, cakes/cookies out there. It will just take you some time to figure out which you like, and sometimes you may have to make it yourself...draw backs... Take it simple at first, and...
  11. maybe people are all buying lcd screens and renting dvds at home! my husband and i love movies--one of our favorite things to do. maybe part of downturning is the upping of ticket prices. they are really expensive. and i know its cheaper where i'm at in the midwest than in some places. i went to new york like 8 years and saw a movie on time square--it...
  12. That's interesting Vincent... all the theaters near us are packed all the time. We always have to go early. Maybe I live in a higher populated area ?
  13. Kimberly-- Hmmmm The reeces are definitely worth a stop in Indiana ! On the movies, I might feel differently about it if I was going to a small, locally owned establishment. The theater in the town I went to college to was tiny--two screens that worked about 50% of the time! I always bought candy there when I went--good selection and much cheaper...
  14. PS BamBam, I took Zelnorm for a while too. It sort-of helped, but I didn't like relying on it. Also thought--as far as food goes--do you eat fiber in foods often? If I can get myself regular, foods like fruit, beans, lentils and flax will help me stay regular. If you want more info on food I can give you that too.
  15. BamBam- I always love answering the regularity question, because my issue was constipation--all the time, for years. It's an awful feeling. After going gluten-free, it is definitely better, but still not perfect. Below is tips I wrote in a post earlier on getting more regular. Hope it helps you!! ___________ I think one of the best things...
  16. Dang Ab--that stinks with your insurance !! I wish I knew of a better way. The one thing would be to even see your dr and try and reflux med, (or an over the counter), and if this reflux issue is your problem you should start to notice some improvement... How's it feeling today? Also, if that is your problem, a few helpful things-- may want to cut...
  17. Sore throat is another possible symptom of reflux. Not that it may be what you have--but it is another symptom of it some have. For me, the swallowing issue was the only symptom. Saw this---has some ideas on causes for trouble swallowing: Open Original Shared Link Sounds like you'll have to go to the dr... Sorry !
  18. Abby-- Sorry My only input is relux/esophagus issues. Have you ever had any? When I had relux years back, the symptom that sent me to the doctor was trouble swallowing when I was eating. For me, it felt like all the food was getting stuck and building up in my throat. It gave me trouble swallowing/eating. My esophagus was inflamed and swollen b/c...
  19. Good ol' NE. I was in Omaha once for a wedding--cute town ! I am in Indiana. The only place I've found them was Walmart...so...they just might be nearby We think they're better than peanut m&ms...
  20. Can I just say when I saw the post, the jingle from the 80's stuck in my head... (I think it was the 80s...) "Carnation Instant Breakfast-------You're gonna love it in an instant." That's my contribution to this thread
  21. Nice Abby--sometimes I will empty my purse out before I put in the candy. (Not to get off the subject !) but can I say I resisted carrying a 'big/bigger' purse for a long time, and eventually all my intestinal issues won out and I had to upgrade to have room for all the food I had to carry around with me. I eat like every 2 hours at least I think! ...
  22. celiac3270--nice idea on the card...I think I have some in my wallet. I haven't been caught yet! And its no wonder I do that, because my growing up my mom and dad would carry in a big ol' bag of popcorn to movies too. (My mom's purse is HUGE!!)
  23. Maybe I'm henious--I know it !! But, I always bring my own candy to the movies, and just buy their drinks. Sometimes we'll bring like 4 different kinds with us. Hmm, at Star Wars two weeks ago I think I brought sweet tarts, skittles, reeces pieces and peanuts ! Its a good time to carry a big purse--or see a movie with someone who has one !
  24. Heather- Hi! (Is your brochitis all gone now ?) It certainly wouldn't be impossible that you both have celiac disease. One thing is weight loss--that is not listed as an IBS thing. And I would think most drs would say weight loss is a signal more investigation needs to be done. I had been diagnosed with IBS like 13 years ago. I think it is good to...
  25. Yeah, the name is funny--Oddi... That's what I feel like myself-- and "Oddi"
