  1. Beth- Questions are always welcome Bean flour can be made from several types of beans, some products will have a bit of a bean taste if there is much bean flour, but it leads to good texture. You can buy these flours in many places, but here is one example of Bob's Red Mill bean flour. I have this at home: Open Original Shared Link You could ck...
  2. Hey! For those of you who shop Trader Joes and have been waiting for their new E/Midwest gluten-free food list--it has arrived ! View the East/Midwest one here: Open Original Shared Link
  3. Beth- I agree with Tiffany... and I note I am intolerant to a ton of foods, and that some foods procedure worse "noticeable" reactions in me than gluten--like turkey, corn, some dairy, coffee... Might want to check into other food intolerances. Have you tried other gluten-free breads, like corn bread or a bean flour bread? Also, you should make sure...

  7. bomb! thanks for sharing ! can't wait to try those. i've hated how uncle ben has to add good ol' hydrogenated oil to his quick cook rice. what's up with that? and if anyone has a trader joes near them, they have their own brand of the quick rice too.
  8. Christien-- How frustrating all this is for you, I'm sure! I would say there is definitely a good chance you have Celiac, and echo Kaiti--get tested! I was diagnosed with "IBS" about 13 years ago as well...and thought that was my problem, when it was always Celiac. I finally got my diagnosis this year ! Good luck to you--let us know what you find out...

    ARCHIVED Awareness

Good thoughts and good question. As for myself--I actually have created a 4-fold plan to raise awareness locally where I live. (yes--I really am a dork!) I recently sent out letters to restaurants, and plan to send out more as well. The next phase I'm entering (I totally sound like a dork!), is writing letters to previous doctors (I've had many...

  21. Laurie- I believe Inderal is made my Wyeth (unless you are using a generic). I would go here: Open Original Shared Link This is their contact info and you can call Wyeth directly and they will be able to let you know if it is gluten-free for sure.

  23. Hey there... no worries about the procedure. It is pretty easy--the hardest part is not eating until its over ! You should be out for the procedure, and not notice anything. You shouldn't feel any pain either. The worst might be that you have a bit of a sore throat afterwards. Good luck!!

    ARCHIVED Miserable

Jenn- Sorry for how you feel... There is a lot of good ideas in this post for you. The only other thing I could think of, hypoglycemia ? Did anyone mention that? It can make you shaky and anxious for sure, and for some--depressed. I have quite a few friends who have battled with depression...for most of them the meds have not helped. I have one friend...

    ARCHIVED Miserable

I ditto was Tiffany asked--was your food allergy panel testing with IgE or IgG? My "classic" allergy panel came back normal across the board, for wheat and barley etc too (b/c IgE is a different indicator). But I just got my IgG panel back, and it basically says I have a food intolerance to everything! Perhaps you had the wrong panel done? I hope you...
