  1. Unrelated to Celiac, I did have 2 friends who went on depo, and had horrible side effects...basically put them in menopause. There are so many things that can be a trigger to Celiac. PS--If you really want to be gluten-free, you need to check your shampoos, face lotions, lipsticks. Even one small item like lipstick or chapstick that isn't gluten...
  2. I found some info for you, below. I took it from this site: Open Original Shared Link Join us for a Gluten-Free Day at HersheyPark! Saturday, July 30th Park Hours: 10am - 11pm Gluten-Free Lunch Menu Beef BBQ Sandwiches, Hot Dogs & BBQ Chicken (All with fixings and gluten-free Buns of course!) Assorted Picnic Salads gluten-free Desserts...
  3. Tiffany- What you mentioned is amazing to me--but I've found it to be true. In my search for diary free cheese, most of the soy and nut and rice cheeses I've found have casein added back into them. And if someone isn't going diary free, I can't imagine why they want to eat nut or soy cheese ! I always just popped a lactaid pill. The one cheese I...
  4. Tiffany- Its funny you mention that, b/c I did buy organic green leaf lettuce once, not in the bag. And all the bugs did gross me out! I was like, "bring on the pesticides!" I will buy organic prepackaged spinach though, no issues there.
  5. bugs can freak me out
  6. Yeah, my ground flax is one of the other items I keep in the fridge. Ugh--I have heard about the bug regulation in flour, but to think of little eggs in there is well, bleh!
  7. Ah! Those moths would have freaked me out! Its my understanding that certain flours should be stored in the fridge and others are okay--i keep my soy, tapioca, brown rice, potato starch in the fridge b/c they spoil faster than white rice, amarath flour. I think I might keep others in there too, but can't remember right now! Maybe try ziplocks or those...

    ARCHIVED Cc Coma

I get that too. I had a killer head ache all weekend, still lingering today. It was bad on Saturday night, and with being tired I kept shutting my eyes while I was talking too. My friend was like 'Are you okay?'

    ARCHIVED Awareness

Thanks for the info Alan. I think I'm going to put a brochure together for the doctor letters, rather than the full 8 1/2 x 11 sheets I had originally, which I feel are more likely to be passed aside. BUT-update on me. Anyone heard of Marsh Supermarkets? They are one of the large midwest chains, and headquartered in Indy. I am meeting with their...
  10. Glad you are doing better so quickly!
  11. I switched to Bare Escentuals lipsticks/gloss after diagnosis--they are great! Benefit says their lipsticks are gluten-free too. Pantene is gluten-free, and suave is mostly gluten-free--look at their label, they will list gluten ingredients if present. I used to use estee lotions, but switched to neutrogena. They have a lot of gluten-free products. Go...
  12. Frenchiemama-- Wanted to also say thanks for sharing some of your story with us here. I have a great deal of respect for you ! Tiffany-- I hope you are get some answers for your pain soon. Sex can be difficult enough on its own and it is an important part of a marriage too... Merika-- Please keep us updated on your situation
  13. That is so fascinating--the correlation of weather to muscle/joint pain. I will have to track myself in conjunction to weather sometime... Donna and Nisla--hope sunny skies reach you soon!
  14. Yeah, I'm always like 'well, if your theory is so right and the current theory is wrong, then why isn't everyone talking about yours? There seems to be something to the diet that does help heal some individuals, but yes, not 'cure.' Hmmm... Thanks for the thoughts!
  15. Hey all, so I've been trying to keep up with the SCD posts and finally bought the book-''breaking the vicious cycle" for myself to read as an option... But I was surprised as I read her controversial thoughts on Celiac and how she disagreed with the current theory for the cause of Celiac and treatment. Those of you who are familiar with what I'm talking...
  16. Merika- 1st off I also echo the evaulation of gluten-free diet--contamination possibilities etc... I have to say that my heart breaks for you as I read your post. And it makes a lot of sense to me... One of the main things I have learned from my marriage, and from watching my parents, is how quickly and how subtley two spouses hearts can separate...

    ARCHIVED Excema Or Dh?

a knitting needle! i sometimes use mechanical pencils and paper clips to stratch too. yikes!
  18. Not long after being diagnosed I had a few dreams about eating gluten-containing foods unknowingly and then panicking afterwards
  19. Lisa- Glad your back and glad that your son is doing better! I have been checking this post periodically hoping you'd return
  20. Read this post to see the good news on Maggiano's. As far as I know the pasta is corn based. (Which I myself can't tolerate...) Mold allergies stink. I have one, but haven't ever noticed it to food. Hmmm. Just started dairy-free too. It is hard. I have gone to a milion places looking for this gluten-free, cf vegan cheese. Who knows what it will...
  21. jcgirl- Vent away! So glad you know for sure now. And many of us can relate with the doctors. I had lots of doctors telling me "IBS" for 13 years before my diagnosis! Its a reminder we have to be our own advocates

It turns out psoriasis was my problem...
  23. Hi there! Read these 2 threads, below, that were about gluten-free fiber supplements. The posts list several you could choose from. Fiber is great at bulking up stool (helping with diarrhea or constipation) and absorbing toxins/mucous and carrying them out of the body. Some fiber supplements have gluten added to them, but a whole host of them are gluten...
  24. Kaiti- I didn't realize you take enzymes. What difference do you notice? I am curious b/c after my food intolerance tests showed that I am intolerant of almost of every food (!), a nutritionist from the lab recommended I take enzymes. I did once years ago, but never really noticed a great difference then...
  25. How thoughtful! That is so cool you are cooking a meal for her--especially knowing how complicated it can be !
