    ARCHIVED Wendy's

Bernadette- How did you find out about the soy sauce ? That stinks!
  3. before i was diagnosed, i always used to drink these wheat grass smoothies from wild oats...and i could never figure out why it always made me sick! i thought--this has to be good for me!
  4. yeah, it looks like, futuristic to me...is that what i'm thinking ??
  5. i use smart balance at home too...
  6. Violet- Here's a quick/abbreviated version of what I eat for a typical day: Breakfast: cereal with rice milk (am dairy free for right now) Morning snack: a fruit bar or enjoy life granola type bar or rice crackers, veggies with hummus Lunch: big salad w/meat and lots of veggies, sometimes with gluten-free chips, crackers, leftover rice or quinoa...
  7. Erica- You should try Woodchuck's ciders--go with the amber first. They are on the sweeter side, a good sweet, slightly tangy, taste not bitter. Margaritas are good--tangy and kind of fruity as well. How about a rum and coke or a fresh strawberry daiquiri (real berries)?
  8. Bob- I am laughing that you had to sign a disclosure agreement!
  9. I use listerine and haven't had any issues...
  10. In an ideal world, I think we should be going after each meal...however, we don't live in a perfect world So, if I haven't gone for 1 or 2 days, I start hitting the fiber, beans, etc. Once you start backing up, it can get worse quickly. And think about your intestines...its not so good to have a meal setting in there from 5 days ago ! After going gluten...
  11. Bring your own snack to chomp away with others, have a drink, and as Armetta said, you may be able to eat some of the food if its on a buffet. A lot of times they'll have fruit or veggie trays...
  12. Ken- re: the cake. Can you discuss a gluten-free cake with them? Do you have a whole foods or bakery that would make you a gluten-free cake nearby? Depending on where you live, Whole Foods markets can do that. You could also tell them no more cake, and to sub with something like ice cream sundaes, root beer floats or something... for work I'd bring...
  13. I think Tiffany and I posted at the same time--I agree with her on exercise, forgot about that one in the moment. Even perhaps taking a short walk outside on a lunch break can reenergize...
  14. Hey girls I am sorry for your struggles with depression...what a lonely, and despair-filled place that is. Depression often goes hand in hand with chronic illness. I would think for many, that as you physically feel better, you will emotionally feel better as well. I have to be intentional to think positive and hopeful when I'm physically hurting and...
  15. I am casein, whey, all forms of milk intolerant! Just really figured it out from a food intolerance test. However, a ton of foods showed up for me, and some of which I have never noticed an issue with. Food intolerances are definitely real, however, I think there still needs to be more research on how a food intolerance can or can not damage the body....
  16. my husband says i'm an internet dork now b/c i am on this site all the time
  17. Glad you were helped and welcomed! I echo that thanks too--this site is a God-sent for sure !
  18. BamBam- Go here to read a list I posted of gluten-containing ingredients in makeups/products. It makes it easier to spot things. Open Original Shared Link As for your symptoms, it certainly sounds like you may have been glutened. I think its more likely by the chinese than the marshmallows, but you never know. Remember the brand name on the marshmallows...
  19. Also... It is a possibility that you will need an iron infusion for your anemia. I had to get one this spring b/c my iron would not go up. I am getting a follow-up test this week to see if I have to have another infusion as well. Sometimes it can take a while, and take several of these procedures to get someone's iron up to normal levels.
  20. I would be all over it if I still lived in PA !!
  21. I have a friend with celiac who used to eat corn pops, and started to get sick. It took her a couple of months to figure out corn pops had changed its ingredients to contain wheat. Why do they need to that do ? Arg
  22. I echo Carrie and Kaiti--major fatigue, loopiness, headache, just feel really out of it, constipation or diarrhea sometimes too...

    ARCHIVED I Had To Laugh...

I always say I'm high-maintenance in ways I can't choose--but in the ways that matter--like relationally, I am low maintenance--I don't get into fights, don't like 'drama' in relationships etc. So, at least we're not trying to be a pain in the butt like some people are--we can't help it when we're a pain !! lol !
  24. Karen- AH! That happened to me once--with a Cookie from a bakery! It was unbelieveable! I bit into the cookie, looked down and inside there was a catepillar like bug with a cocoon. Needless to say, we took it back to the bakery. And I tried to cough up the cookie I had eaten! KenRitter- Go here to see info on flours and storage. I copied storage...
  25. I haven't tried mesquite yet either, but have been curious. I've seen the ruby range advertised a lot. You can ck out their gluten-free mixes etc here: Open Original Shared Link Not sure if there prices or products are better than any others...
