  5. Sundance- This is not a comprehensive list, but a good one that helped me begin to recognize what gluten ingredients looked like: (some others are listed b/c some individuals have allergies/sensitivities to soy/yeast). Also--when I contacted benefit cosmetics, they told me all their lipsticks were gluten-free...so perhaps you'd like theirs better? SOY...
  6. You would need to get the brand name or check with the manufacturer. Ask your obgyn, he or she may have info on that...but you will probably just need to get the vitamin info and find out yourself...

  9. It seems like you ingest a fair amount of dairy--it might be worthwhile for you to eliminate it for 2 weeks or so and see if you notice a difference. I have other food intolerances and have gone dairy free. Soy especially gives me gas and bloating.
  10. Here are other gluten-free snack ideas for you... some of these might be in your local stores: www.enjoylife.com (cookies, bars etc that are free of the top 8 allergies and gluten-free) www.phillyswirl.com (gluten-free/cf frozen desserts--just not the icecream sandwiches though) Midel's makes some good gluten-free cookies--my favorite are the arrowroot...
  11. On a related side-note... I was trying to find a new body wash at Meijer and started to get ticked off at knowing which was really okay. So I randomly found the California Baby products online--anyone heard of them? They are all natural lotions, body washes, extra gentle. They told me their entire line is gluten-free/cf...so I ordered a lotion and a body...
  12. Karen- Hmmm...I'm sure people here will have some good ideas for you. My first thoughts--you are sure even your lipsticks, lotions, makeup, soaps are gluten free. And that you aren't taking in a product that is perhaps contamination--perhaps even one that is processed on the same lines as non gluten-free foods, that says is gluten-free? Do you have...
  13. Josh- Be encouraged--once you go gluten-free for a while, you shouldn't have to rely on the Immodium. 1st off I have to ask you if you go to the bowling alley in Delaware--can't remember the name right now, but my Aunt owns it Okay, food... Below are two gluten-free food lists I use that are helpful. The first you can get for free, from another...

  18. I believe the rice flour I have now is 'Cause Your Special' Microfine White Rice Flour. I definitely notice it is more fine than the other brands I had previously.
  19. Absolutely! Often times the individual has a better sense of what's going on with their body than the doctor Like Kaiti said--if your doc gives you a hard time, go to another. Most types of docs can give you the blood test.
  20. I also highly recommend "Wheat Free, Worry Free" by Danna Korn. It may be in stock in some books stores, guess you'd have to call. I bought it off of amazon. You could also to the Univ of Chicago and print of their new Celiac fact sheets to give to them, in case you can't find a book. There is some good info on the sheets. Go here to get them: Open...
  21. I wish i knew of some for you. I pick up gluten-free treats made from pure meat at a local "dog bakery" in Indianapolis... You should ck and make sure there aren't any "yuppie" pet bakeries/stores locally near you.

  23. Heinz Ketchup--YES Kraft Ranch--yes i believe, but I have never read the label or eaten it myself. Kraft will not hide any form on gluten--it will be listed on the ingredient statement. So read the label, and if it does not state wheat, barley, rye or oats, you can have it. Have you gotten the delphi gluten-free food list yet? Also-look at these...
  24. Ah ha! nikki made me think of something else--'misery loves company', as a friend of mine says... and when you are trying to make healthy choices for yourself, it probably makes your FIL feel guilty for his own poor choices somewhere inside himself--even if he seems to not care about his diabetes and revels in his bacon. if everyone else around him gives...
  25. go to this link to see your answer, which is No... the only yogurt I eat personally is yoplait, b/c the others i've checked on could not guarantee or weren't sure of the gluten-free status. sorry Open Original Shared Link
