    The thing that is bugging me is that my gastro didn't know if celiac could cause a fever and told me to see an internal med. doctor. I saw one and she sent me to him. I feel like I can't get answers as to why I get these low grade fevers.

    I have been tested for many autoimmune diseases, the only positive one thus far and I hope and pray it stays that way, is celiac. When I am CCed, I will run a fever for several days. I also have elevated liver enzymes. Does anyone else run a low grade fever as part of the autoimmune response with celiac? My doctor told me to take Tylenol but I don't want...

    Yesterday I went to see my new gastro. He actually diagnosed me as a super sensitive celiac. He told me to eat nothing from a box. (no prepared foods) He said that gluten free labeled foods are becoming a fad and that he even suggests to his IBS patients to eat gluten free and that not all of those packaged foods out there are actually safe for celiacs...

    If they told you that it does have wheat in it, I would not use it! I would return it.

    I am going to send it with my husband to take to work. Thats what I do with all of the foods that I buy and don't want. Those guys are like vultures. They eat anything.

    I don't think so...I get this way when the DH gets going. I also have a zillion bleeding sores on my lips. Maybe it's a DH thing.

    Do any of you get flu type symptoms when going through a glutening? Not the sore throat stuff but a low grade fever and terrbile muscle pain, weakness and just feel like when after you have had the flu? I am totally wiped out.

    Well, my doctors nurse (not gastro) freaked the hell out over the liver enzymes so it scared me. This is the same dr. that gave me the ibs diagnosis and sent me out the door with antidepressants despite the fact that I have raging DH, migraines, joint and muscle pain, night sweats and low grade fevers while eating gluten.     I dont think that going to a hotel would help. Hotel rooms usually have had people eating gluten in them. The minifridge and tables and things would need to be cleaned. Also, how would your wife eat there? I would make sure that I had a clean pan..Buy a new one if you need to and make something really simple like a plain hamburger and eat that with...

    I am feeling like complete and utter crap today. I feel glutened. Migraine, swollen intestines, look 6 mo pg. joint pain..I am having gas and when it feels like I have to go, all I get is mucus.     Thanks girls! Heck I don't know what got me but something did big time as I just had to crawl up the stairs b/c of weakness when just the other day I was out hiking and feeling good. I have a migraine, joint pain, mucus discharge, gas....you know the drill. -Mo

    LFitts, that has got to be the hardest thing with celiac for me...the not knowing sometimes. Sorry that your daughter got zapped. I usually take my food with me from home when I eat at someones house that way I know for sure what is in it.

    My flare ups can last weeks with dh. In fact my current one has been going since Christmas Eve. Mine do get better and get worse. It also moves. Starts on my back then goes to my chest where it currently is. Sometimes I get it on my scalp, knees and elbows. It is also worse at night for some reason.

    I have DH from celiac and it is true that iodine can worsen it but I always get DH after I have been glutened and I am very tired with it. Sometimes I run a low grade fever with it too. Sometimes you just don't know what got you. I agree that celiac is a nightmare. There isn't much that she can do but wait it out, drink water to flush her system..not healthy...

    If you go to bed feeling fine after dinner and wake up fine and eat breakfast and then a few hours later blow up like a huge balloon and look 7 mo. pg with pain and trapped gas etc. is it safe to assume that what you had for breakfast is the culprit or should I look to what I had for dinner?

    My gosh here lately, I am so so stiff and achy. I feel like I have the flu but I am not sick. I went to the dr. for this and was tested for lupus, RA, MS, Thyroid came back ok and arthritis and the blood work all came back ok except for elevated liver enzymes that I assume will straighten out after some time on the diet. I am so tired of being stiff...
