My wife had a 20% off coupon for CPK so we decided to check out their new gluten-free offerings at the Scarsdale, NY location. Yes I know it's a chain and it's filled with Gluten. I'm intolerant, not Celiac so I was willing to take a chance. Their gluten-free menu came out just a few weeks ago (it's integrated into the regular menu so you don't have to...

Taim Mobile is a Middle Eastern mobile food truck in NYC. Check their Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link feed to find daily locations. All items are gluten-free except the pita bread. Food is great! Edit: Sorry title should be NYC not sure what happened there.

ARCHIVED Sabrett Hot Dogs Officially Gluten Free!
pshifrin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I guess it helps when the President of Sabrett is your father-in-law. I've been annoying him at family bbqs to get it done since the hot dogs were already technically gluten-free. Go grab one and slap it in an Udi's bun (if you can find them). Here is the new packaging they just started using: -
ARCHIVED Harrisburg, Pa Gluten Free Restaurants And Food Options
pshifrin replied to ciavyn's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Too bad I didn't see this earlier, I stopped in Mechanicsburg today on a drive home from WV to New York. Stopped at Chic Fil A and got the grilled no bun and fries. Boy was it good! Can't get CFA in New York! Checked out the Wegmans gluten-free section in the same strip mall since I had heard so much about it. Surprisingly, nothing special compared to... -
Here is the ingredient list. Was just looking at it as I have a 500 mile road trip to WV this week and was thinking about getting a fruit smoothie there if necessary. Absolutely NO gluten-free places anywhere near where i'm going so I'm stocking up at Whole Food this weekend and packing a cooler. Open Original Shared Link

FYI, Juniors in NYC (at least in the Grand Central Terminal location) has flour-less Cheesecake for Passover. Going by the ingredients, it is Gluten Free! They have plain, raspberry swirl and chocolate. Just picked one up and can't wait to eat it! For those observing, it's not certified Kosher For Passover but Kosher Dairy "Passover Style". Good enough...

Tulu's, my favorite cupcake place on 11st & 1 ave sometimes has bread (although personally i didn't love it). The Whole Foods by me (White Plains) now carries Udi's Breads UNFROZEN in the bread section so I guess that's closest to "fresh".

Was in Atlantic City all last week for a conference. Worked very long days so it was yogurt, fruit and snacks for breakfast and lunch. Dinners were out with colleagues. The difference since last year was amazing. Some highlights: Gallagher Steak House: Waiter knew every ingredient of every menu item. Got filet, mash potatoes and sauteed string beans...

A few weeks ago we took a one week vacation to Maui (specifically the Kaanapali Beach / Lahaina area). We had an amazing time even with the tsunami warning and not really relaxing since we had our toddler with us. Anyway we are here to talk about gluten-free food: There were may options while dining out. Most of the restaurants are small and cook from...

ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Greek On Long Island (Commack)
pshifrin replied to pshifrin's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Finally got to try this place. Overall: Very Good! The waitress eased any worries by telling me what soups are ok and that the salad dressing is ok ... before I even asked. Actually the salads were fantastic, give me feta cheese, grilled chicken and a good dressing any day! -
ARCHIVED Ate gluten-free At Melting Pot
pshifrin replied to Dixiebell's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
You're right! According to the menu they are not. However... I ate a ton of them and was fine. Now I'm only gluten-free sensitive not celiac so maybe the chips only have a chance of CC. -
I've eaten at the Qdoba in Fresh Meadows, NY a few times. I've gotten Chicken Tacos (hard shell) many times and never had a problem. Even though Chipotle is safer for gluten-free, I find it too spicy compared to Qdoba.

ARCHIVED Ate gluten-free At Melting Pot
pshifrin replied to Dixiebell's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
The Melting Pot by us (White Plains NY, walking distance actually) is a gluten-free heaven. The have a very knowledgeable staff, use corn starch on your cheese, provide corn chips instead of bread, they know which sauces are ok. Basically I can eat 95% of what I used to get there before going gluten-free and not worry about a thing! -

My PS flight was cancelled last week due to the storms and I had to fly back in coach! No gluten-free meal for me. -
ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Greek On Long Island (Commack)
pshifrin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
One or two times per month I have to go to Commack to visit our satellite office. Just discovered a local Greek place has a new gluten-free menu including gluten-free Pita Bread! Going there on 2/14 for lunch and will report back. Looks great on paper! Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Opening A Gluten Free Cafe
pshifrin replied to strawberrygm's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Check out this place. It's near Albany, NY and it's a 100% gluten-free Bakery and Cafe. Fortunately, work takes me past there once a week or so during the summer. Open Original Shared Link -
I will only get the yogurt / fruit smoothies there. You can stand by the cold drink area (separate from the food prep) and watch them make it.

I'm flying united PS JFK-SFO in a few weeks, coach out to SFO but business on the way back. Do you think they'll have gluten-free meals in business if I order in advance? -
ARCHIVED Buona Sera, Smithtown, Long Island
pshifrin replied to Unwell's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I discovered it this fall and mentioned it in a post a few weeks ago. The chicken parm is amazing! My friend (also gluten-free) and I tried to send back the Italian bread cause it looked so "real" we thought it wasn't gluten-free. -
An update. The last two times I went to 97 lake, my stomach has been a complete mess the next few days. Both times I've had a cheese burger with grilled onions. I know they got the order right as the bun was obviously gluten-free. I also ate the fries. I don't know what it was and I'm very upset because, in theory, it should be so good. Maybe it's the...

We just had dinner at 97 lake. OMG.... I had a cheeseburger with onion rings. Put aside eating healthy for a night and indulge here while remaining completely gluten-free! They were also very kid friendly, the dining room was mostly kids at 5pm and our waitress was making friends with our 20 month old. The owner came by and chatted with us for a few mins...
