  1. No, I didn't try these. I saw two different ones at two other hospitals. It want hurt to make an appointment and see how it goes.
  2. I live in Birmingham and didn't have much luck with a doctor here but I have been seeing Dr. Cynthia Rudert in Atlanta and really like her. Good luck, I think it is hit and miss with most doctors.
  3. O+ Sandy blonde hair and hazel eyes.
  4. I am so sorry about your diagnosis but so glad it's in the early stages. Hang in there with your treatment and keep us updated.
  5. It sounds like restless leg which can be caused by a low iron. I was having really bad restless leg and my iron was extremely low but once my iron started coming up it got better. My doctor is the one who said it can but not always can be because of a low iron. Hope this helps!
  6. I don't know the answer to your question but I have something that sounds exactly like that. I have a patchy area on one knuckle that gets really itchy, red and I can feel little bumps. The area gets dry and cracks which really hurts. Everytime this appears on my knuckle I have some sort of area on the opposite hand on my pinky finger on the outer side...
  7. Before I went gluten free I was sleeping so much and so exhausted that I really thought I was dying. I had other symptoms such as joint pain, migraines, bloating, gas, severe brain fog and abdominal pain. I had no idea they were all connected and was all because of FOOD!!! I have two small children and felt like the worst mother and wife but knew I was...
  8. I had the genetic testing done and I am double DQ 8. Does this mean that each of my parents have the genes? Several autoimmune diseases run in my family but I can't convince my parents to get tested.
  9. I know how frustrated you are feeling because I was just wanting someone to tell me definitely I did or did not have celiacs. Unfortunately it isn't always that easy because soooo many doctors are ignorant ont the signs and symptoms of celiacs, the proper test to run and how it is treated. I had a gastro doc tell me there was not way I could have celiacs...
  10. I miss not having to think about every single thing I am going to eat. But I really miss Krispy Kreme doughnuts!
  11. Hi, my B12 was in the low 200's too, I was having the same symptoms memory loss, brain fog, off balance, clumsy and my doctor has me taking B12 sublingual. Also they need to check your Vit D level, iron, ferritin and thyroid panel. My vit D, iron, and ferritin were almost non existent. I have learned so much more from this board than I did from the doctor...
  12. I am a mom to two beautiful daughters both adopted internationally. I live in the south and love animals (5 dogs). I am a CRNA-certified registered nurse anesthetist (anesthesia). I love to read, spend time with my childeren and husband, and go to the beach.
  13. Thanks Raven! It is so hard to know what is what at times, I have never seen such a medical problem that is so complex.
  14. Hi, I know it is so frustrating when you just want to know which one. I was recently diagnosed as having a problem with gluten and told by my doctor to go gluten free, she ran a celiac panel and sent me to a nutritionist. The blood test was negative but by the time I found out, I had been gluten free over a month and feeling so much better. Since I had...
  15. Hi, I was just diagnosed before Thanksgiving. My doctor recommended probiotics and digestive enzymes as part of the process. I know alot of people tend to have secondary problems such as a problem with dairy, which is what I have. Hang in there and I hope you get to feeling better soon!
  16. Hi Nancy, Welcome! I am new to all of this too! I hope you find the answers to what is going on with you I know it is so frustrating to know you are so sick but nobody can tell you why. The gluten free diet seems overwhelming in the beginning but it isn't too bad as you get the hang of it. I am on my 3rd month eating gluen free and feel so much better...
  17. It was right at three weeks for mine to be available.
  18. Hey Robert, I would be interested to hear what Dr. Rudert went over or said. I have an appt. on Thursday but if she isn't helpful then I don't want to go over 3 hrs. to see her.
  19. Thanks for the advise! I am going to stick to a gluten free diet until proven otherwise. I know I feel better. I am taking B12 sublingual, Vit D, a probiotic and digestive enzyme.
  20. And why on earth would you take TWO antibiotics when you don't even know if you need an antibiotic at all? At least he could test your gut for bacterial overgrowth or parasites or whatever it is that he thinks that these antibiotics might kill! A lot of us got into trouble initially with too many antibiotics! These could just kill whatever good bacteria you...
  21. Good luck with your diagnosis. There is so much ambiguous information among the medical community that I have been amazed. To know how 1 in 133 people can have celiac but so little training is given to the doctors is so frustrating.
  22. I am so sorry to hear of all of the diagnoses. I am 42 and just found out I have issues with gluten (or I think I do) so I don't have any answers but at least it was caught and after the biopsy you can start trying to heal with a gluten free diet.
  23. I am sorry this is going to be long... I started getting sick about 1.5yrs ago with a variety of symptoms that all seemed unrelated but now appear to be either celiacs or non-celiac gluten intolerance to me. I started off having pain in my hands, ran a low grade fever of 99. extremely fatigued, started having migraines, pain in my joints all over, brain...
