  1. I just wanted to share that I am feeling like I have made alot of progress in the past two weeks. For the last year I have been very nervous about going out (I really only left the house once every 3 months for quite a while.) and pretty afraid of food also so my life kinda felt like it was spiraling out of control. I had been coming here and reading alot...
  2. My 5 year old daughter will get rid of the bugs before I will (I can't stand them)...I jump and scream when my sister throws those plastic spiders at me.
  3. Tonight we are making what my daughter calls crumbly burgers (browned and seasoned ground beef mixed with cheese and ketchup) and oven fries. Extremely simple kid friendly meal since my husband and I have been running around getting registered for college classes which start tomorrow
  4. That's very true and I think I finally am getting to where I'm not completely terrified of getting sick from food, but if I would have known at the beginning I would have been very overwhelmed.
  5. We use the Paleo Banana Bread from Elana's Pantry, but sub canola oil for the palm shortening and use egg replacer since my 2 year old can't have eggs. Open Original Shared Link
  6. I don't have pictures, but my daughter was short and skinny except for a huge belly before going gluten free. Here is her weight progress from birth til now... At birth she was 8 lbs 8 oz, 20 1/2 in long 2 weeks...8 lbs 1 oz, 20 1/2 in long 1 month...8 lbs 7 oz, 20 1/2 in long 2 months...9 lbs 3 oz, 20 1/2 in long 4 months...9 lbs 3 oz, 20 1/2 in long...
  7. Yes you can get just the noodles. Mine were Annie Chun's brand.
  8. You're welcome. Hope you enjoy! It's 27 here and extremely windy so the wind is just cutting right through the apartment
  9. Since it's so cold out we decided to make chicken noodle soup. It's also one of our simple, don't have to stand in the kitchen meals. I took the chicken and browned it in olive oil on the stove, then cut it up and added it to a pot with salt, pepper, garlic, onion and enough water to make the amount of broth we want. Let that simmer for about 20 min....
  10. No I didn't, wanted to though and I really hope I will get out to see the 3D one (saved up Christmas money, but I have to pay for daughters ballet recital costume). We have the movie on VHS and my girls and I watch it probably once a week since it's my youngest girls favorite princess movie (she loves Chip ). I really need to get it on DVD soon.
  11. I find gluten free to be much easier. With gluten free you can say "oh I want pancakes, let's make them with almond flour or whatever other flour you use", with dairy free you can't just say I want lasagna because you just can't replace the cheese easily.
  12. Gosh...sometimes I just wish that our bodies came with a do not eat list! This trial and error and it should be safe stuff is so tiring. I really hope you get to feeling better soon!
  13. I'm not so sure I would be someone to hear from because I am not sure how sensitive I actually am since I basically avoid all processed foods, but I do have a big problem with soda. Do you only react to dark sodas or do you have problems with sodas like Sprite too? Can you handle sugar in other things? The reason I'm asking is that I used to be...
  14. I can't wait to see it either! I think I have seen that movie at least 50 times.
  15. I'm happy today because I actually had enough energy the past 2 days to clean up the house (after a very long time of being too down to get stuff done)...I still have more to do, but it is a start! And I am happy that I have a sister who came over to help go through the kid's things.
  16. Boneless pork spareribs...hubby put them in a frying pan with some extra virgin olive oil, garlic, onion, salt and pepper. After they were down he added some broccoli florets to cook and we will serve it over white rice. If the little one doesn't like the broccoli I may put a sprinkle of melted cheese over it to see if she likes that.
  17. I haven't seen that brand near us...the only one we found was Schar, which did taste pretty good, but it is $10.49 for 2 8 inch crusts
  18. Last night I made a double batch of Elana's Pantry Paleo Banana Bread except I used egg replacer and oil instead of the shortening so we had that for breakfast with Olivio spreadable butter and fresh blueberries.
  19. I made a pot roast in the crock pot with baby carrots tonight and served it over smashed potatoes...simple comfort food
  20. Thank you! I only want to do what is best for the girls and I know that they sometimes feel left out right now, but as long as they are healthy I guess it doesn't matter.
  21. My husband called an allergist that deals with children and food allergies and they said it would be $400 for each of our girls so allergy testing is out. The nurse also said that it probably wouldn't come back positive anyway and gave us some advice, she said that the eczema was probably allergy and just pay attention to any foods that cause it to flare...
  22. Off topic here, but I just had to say Irishheart...your attitude is inspirational. I don't think that most people would be able to go through what you did and still come across so upbeat.
  23. Well whatever it is we stay away from soy, she was already in the hospital once for the bleeding and with her only being 2, I don't think I want to be chancing it right now.
  24. Just curious about this since I read somewhere (can't remember where right now) that soy and dairy can also damage your intestines and I know that my daughter has gotten intestinal bleeding from consuming soy. So would that damage be something other then an intolerance? hmmm it is very curious...
  25. My goals are to get in the kitchen more...I love to cook, but I haven't been doing much of anything lately. And I think even more than that I have a goal to actually go out of the house. Going out terrifies me right now and I have panic attacks when I try to go out. I do occasionally go to my moms which is less then 2 miles away, but that is very rarely...
