  2. Your funny! I liked your coffee rant! LOL!

  3. I never could lose on WW. I loved Atkins before they diagnosed my celiac disease as gallbladder and removed it. Now I am just doing a basic ketogenic diet. Cannot consume that much fat.
  4. That is the interesting thing. The current research articles say deficiency but the treatment focuses on reducing the immune response. Some researchers are focusing on immune activators while others want to reduce it. I think overall, it is still labelled an AI but in that weird stage between the two where no one is completely sure anymore. And yes, the...
  5. we have funny forums? I never noticed that. you do not know that chiropractors can fix anything with a good back crack?
  6. i did, but it was deleted fast. someone was quick. switching topics-- What irks me is the amount of misinformation on the internet regarding celiac. It is so confusing even when you know the facts. I think having this site is very helpful because collectively we are going to have better information that we can have as an individual.
  7. GI causes anxiety feelings, anxiety causes GI issues. They seem to feed on each other and it can be hard to differentiate the two. it used to really tick me off how people were so quick to throw OUT "oh, it's just anxiety..." I had people tell me that my issues were anxiety. Once I started eating right it was a near instantaneous improvement.
  8. You made me do it Irish. Now there is a gluten water thread...I have gluten darts ready to protect me if you try to find me.
  9. sorghum gets a lot of people. A friend of mine tried gluten-free sorghum beer and had to run multiple times for emergent rear evacuations. I find a lot of the gluten-free alternatives to be a nightmare for my GI.
  10. a big reason for the low residue diet is that many have such extreme swelling in the large intestine that passage of stool is difficult. That can lead to the need for surgery. If you reduce the residue,...poo..., you can buy a lot of time where hopefully you will go into remission where the swelling will reduce. Crohns used to be thought of as an autoimmune...
  11. I said crap because I think Irish might have won. Then again, I can start a There is gluten in water thread.
  12. You will have to accept these situations. I am not sure what is wrong with watching people eat. There are a lot of business dinners, buffets, and conventions that will have food you cannot eat. Sometimes I eat, sometimes not. Often I eat something beforehand and have a salad. It is only as big a deal as you make it.
  13. crap.
  14. You will never catch me Irish. I have my alarm system hooked up to dump gluten into the ventilation system. Guaranteed to defeat every celiac-er. mwahahaha. I will sit back with my gluten coffee and laugh.
  15. *so tempted to start another thread labelled "So there is gluten in coffee" but my desire to live outweighs my desire to be mischievous.
  16. Many show negative on the tests or do not feel the biopsy diagnosis is worth the damage to get it back to positive. My docs were very happy to diagnose simply based on symptoms on results from gluten elimination. As they and we all say, there is only one treatment and it is free. No need for any doctor to tell you that you have celiac to get better. You...
  17. Many, but clearly not all, of us have made the assumption that we are low on certain vitamins and minerals without ever being tested. When you think about it, it is really not a smart way for us to approach supplementation.
  18. I have long suspected that many of these larger doses are hurting people. Way too many self prescribe and honestly have no clue what they consume from food and supplements.
  19. Uhmm...Has anyone thought that he may just not understand? My family still gets confused on certain issues. My mom broke down and read a book to better understand it. Most of us did not get it for a while after we heard about it. If he is not a jerk in other areas, then I would be careful to not make any assumptions. How about just saying "Let me pick...
  20. Mine mostly sits at the gallbladder region. I have no GB. It is a weird feeling for sure and annoying and distressing until you figure out what it is.
  21. I love cheese, but I do not eat a lot of cheese. Having issues with it, I avoid it mostly. Occasionally, my body takes over and eats me some cheese. I think these things have been a part of our diet for so long that it is hard to eliminate it forever.
  22. First off, I missed posting here. Been a little lazy here lately. Admittedly not 100% gluten free, especially last week. Does anyone get this weird feeling in your gut like the whole thing feels inflated. Not hard to breath but u think it is. Just gut bloating. I had been eating low carb which I like but got off track last week. I did feel much better...
  23. The low sodium tuna does not include the vegetable broth aka no soy. Soy hits me harder and faster than gluten. I think one of the most helpful pieces of advice I heard was that many go through, at least temporarily, a phase where they are intolerant of multiple things. Not figuring out what those things are can cause one to believe they are not "gluten...
  24. Ick. I think I will just toss it. I recall having some issues with it and possible the English muffins before. I was never sure then. Maybe it is the fructose, maybe gluten, and maybe something they used to make it palatable. Oh well. So much for a bread-like material. Thank you for your replies.
  25. Does anyone else have issues with this. I seem to have symptoms like I have had too much fructose which I guess could be from the honey. Little foggy head/congestion, whoozy, and diarrhea. I am not 100% sure it is coming from this, but it is the only new thing in my diet and the only potential suspect i can see.
