  1. So why did you have 3 children if this is how you really feel? You knew you were sickly when you had them. You may not have known what was wrong with you, but you knew something was horribly wrong. You knew the first one had Autism but you had a second & third one? You knew you were on disability and had no way to support the third one, but you made...
  2. I think I will stay on dry land and stay away from deserted islands. What if it was an island in the middle of Lake Michigan in January?
  3. Are you for real? Do you know what endometriosis is, Karl? I think it's a disease you can't have. People are born with a chance of getting Celiac, they aren't born with full blown Celiac. Occasionally, babies have it but it's not like being born with a cleft palate or a heart murmur.
  4. Have you looked up migraine triggers? I think caffiene might be one in some people.
  5. Whoa! I think you are a little confused. There is a DNA test that shows who the dad is. It has nothing to do with Celiac. There is a different genetic test to show if you have the genes that can cause Celiac. Everybody is born with thier genes, true. Read around on here. Just because you have a gene for Celiac, doesn't mean you will get it. I...
  6. I never eat poison on purpose! Only people with real bad mental issues would. Even most mentally ill people wouldn't.
  7. I have had surprising good responses. "Why did you bring your own food? The food at this party is reallly good?" I tell them I have Celiac and get: " oh! That's gluten free, right? ". Then they tell me about someone they know who is gluten free.
  8. I think I said to you before that I didn't understand why you think the kids can only eat packaged stuff that says gluten free. Seriously? He never eats ice cream, apples, popcorn, Fritos, cheese, peanut butter, carrots, raisins, grapes, tacos, hamburgers, beef stew, hot dogs, green beans, corn, fruit snacks, M&Ms, chocolate milk, fruit smoothies? ...
  9. We eat Skippy. I use black olives on my pizza.
  10. I don't trust most fast food places. The workers don't speak English and they don't seem set up to make food really gluten free. I did OK at Wendy's with chili & potato but I had to talk to the shift manager.
  11. I have been reading along. It sounds like you are too sick to deal with all the other stuff. Tell the adult son to get his own place and let him decide if he wants to be gluten free or not. He is a grown-up he should live his own life. HIs bringing gluten into your home would be one less thing to worry about. The younger son has too many problems for...

  13. Karl Otto, I am not trying to be rude, just curious. English is obviously not your first language, are you in another country? I thought I saw you lived in Colorado but maybe I misunderstood. I think sometimes you have misunderstood what people say because of the language barrier. Maybe you are confused on the words whey and casein because you wouldn...
  14. When I was there on vacation a couple of years ago, they had Whole Foods if you need bread. I mostly just got yogurt & stuff at the small grocery by my hotel. I brought some stuff from home, too.
  15. I don't understand the part about it having to say gluten free. I haven't found any rice, fresh fruit or veggies or meat, etc that say gluten free. The things that say gluten free are usually the packaged, processed stuff. If you are that sick you should think of eating some things that don't say gluten free like potatoes, rice, apples, etc. Whole natural...
  16. Maybe. I guess i would ask them about how they are made. & like, look at how they store them in the store. like are they on the same tray with gluten ones. I went to a coffee shop with some gluten-free pastries but they are wrapped in clear plastic to keep them safe.
  17. Its a chapter out of a text book. It does seem to talk about different "bugs" that are present in different diseases but maybe you could highlight the part about our immune sytems aren't attacking us. Its pretty hard to read all that with out a medical degree.
  18. Thanks. If it gets on me or my kids fingers it might get in our mouths. Especially the kids.
  19. I'm kinda new. Been reading around for awhile. What kind of doctor are you? Its nice to see a doc that knows about Cleiac. This article seems a bit technical for most of us and I don't see where it mentions gluten anywhere. Talks about germs.
