  1. Don't know if anyone has posted it but in my search for gluten-free makeup I came across this on nyc's tips page: Do NYC New York Color products contain gluten? The following NYC New York Color products are gluten-free: Ultra Moist Lip Wear Ultra Last Lip Wear Kiss Gloss Smooch Proof Lip Wear Smooch Proof Lip Stain Lip Slider Automatic Lip Liner...
  2. I'm only going on 4 months gluten-free but I have been feeling the same as you for about the last 2 weeks or so; stomach, big D, tired muscle aches and feel like I'm just not functioning at 100%. I thought it was due to getting the flu shot but it has just lasted too long. I'm thinking that either I'm getting cc somehow, or maybe like everyone else is mentioning...
  3. That I have to be on guard all the time!
  4. Good idea~coctail hr!lol glad to hear everything is starting out well! Good luck, keep us updated!
  5. Glad to hear it's only in early stages! Glad to hear your dr wants u to get a port (it makes the chemo easier~saves your veins!) Kick that adenoma to the curb! Keep us updated~
  6. Hi~ welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new here~ diagnosed in august. it is a bit overwhelming at first but don't give up there is a lot of great advice in the posts here! Unfotunately you will~ at least in the beginning have to cook most meals~ but cooking is like any skill you have to learn~the more you do it the better you'll get at it! You said your...
  7. @ monklady~ Egg-zactly! I work at a hospital too and I agree! Hard boiled eggs are the only thing I have bought from the cafeteria too! Unfotunatly I really think they don't have a clue about glutenor the concept of cc. I have already made arrangements with my s o to bring me food if I ever have to b a patient!
  8. You all have some really good suggestions! At least once a week we have breakfast (bagels, do~nuts) brought in for our department and uaually 1 or 2 lunches as well. They are brought in by sales reps from suppliers we use, I usually keep busy (hide!). But that makes me feel like more of an outsider than I already am. So sometimes with the lunches I just make...
  9. I was given librax as a teenager for my "IBS"(30 yrs ago!) It really seemed to help at the time~I didn't know they still made it! Might have to mention it to my dr~after 3 months of gluten-free the last week has seemed like I'm back to square 1! Might helpuntil I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.
  10. The way I think about gluten in products is like this: I would not walk around with e coli bacteria in my hair or on my skin , trusting that I would not ingest enough to make me sick so why would I walk around with gluten (a potentially harmful substance to me) on them? (yes, I work in a hospital, lol)

    ARCHIVED Thankful!

I'm not quite back to clear thinking all the time, but I have had it happen enough that it gives me hope for the near future!
  12. This morning as I was eating my rice flour/banana pancakes I was a little overwhelmed thinking about how thankful I am that I have been diagnosed. I clearly remember pre-diagnosis and how yucky I felt after a gluten filled version of this morning's breakfast would make me feel. It was a joy to have a couple of big fat pancakes and not feel the days-long gut...
  13. Ugh~I totally understand the irritation @ other ppl singling you out for your diet. Believe it or not I work in a very close knit, specialized dept. Supposedly with well educated professionals but my coworker's ignorance (both kinds!) is incredible! I always try to be upbeat but some days I really have a hard time. I am taking my commitment to being gluten...
  14. NG- It is normal to freak out a bit at the possibility of having to go gluten free. Like you I have suffered from stomach issues since being a teenager (I'm 46 and just diagnosed in aug). The best advice I can give you is how I have done it so far-Kiss! Keep it simple silly! I'm giving myself a few months of sticking to easy stuff; rice, potatoes, rice noodles...
  15. So far I haven't (only been diagnosed since august) but I have had my first gluten dream-I ate a big fat dinner roll! But seriously, I made myself so sick the last few weeks before my biopsy that I can still remember and avoid (purposely)glutening myself. Also I know what I crave-brownies- and it is almost the only "gluten free" product I make sure I have...
  16. I think I did the same thing this past weekend. I still feel bad, tired, D, bloating but the nausea has gone away. I figure I lived so long with these symptoms, I can put up with them a few days or weeks. At least I learned something from it. It's still a little disheartening to know that I have to be that militant about it! Hope you feel better soon!
  17. lol - i sent a message but i have no idea who i sent it to or where it went!!! aaahhhhhh!!!!

  18. So far we have canned pickles, green beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, vegetable soup, and pepper rings. Have also frozen zucchini and squash. I say we loosely, I was just dx in august and for most of the summer I really had no energy so it was my boyfriend who did most of the canning! I have been feeling much better lately and hope to join in with some fall...
  19. Hi, I was miserable the last few weeks before my biopsy. I really glutened it up! I tried to think of all the stuff I loved or wanted to try and ate it all. I remember how horrible I felt but kept on because I really wanted to get the most bang for the buck so to speak, from my biopsy. My blood work was very low positive, only the ttg was slightly raised...
  20. When I had my endoscope done I had asked ahead of time for them to save and print out pictures for me. when I woke up my dr said everything looked fine and he would see me in 2 weeks to get the results, "don't worry about changing your diet". I took one look at the pictures and it was as if they went to google imaages and printed out a picture of classic...
  21. I'm sorry to hear you're having such a frustrating time getting any answers. My dr didn't want to give me a diagnosis until he read the biopsy pathology report, even though the pictures he took while doing the endoscopy looked like classic celiac damage. You should try to get a copy of the results just to check it out for yourself. Good luck.
  22. I have only been gluten-free for a little over a month but have found that asian and indian grocers are the best for buying bulk rice, and they have a much larger variety of types then regular stores too. I have mostly been eating it plain but last night I was making plain jasmine rice in the cooker and I wasn't paying attention, I put twice the amount of...
  23. Bananas and peanut or almond butter seem to hold me over, cheap and yummy.
  24. Hi There! Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm in Oregon...where are you? It's coming a long...I baked my son a gluten free cheese cake for his birthday today...it's a hit! I used walnuts for the crust...turned out delicious. :)

  25. Funny you posted this, I was thinking the same thing. I have only been gluten-free since aug. 9th and been VERY vigilant. I basically stripped my diet to meat, bananas, veggies from the garden, rice, quinoa, organic gluten-free corn chips and lactaid milk. Been feeling so much better but last week I bought a box of the honey nut chex and thought I reacted...
