  1. Never seen these before--will definitely look for them. I live by a SuperTarget in So FL.
  2. I discovered gluten-free wraps made by a co called "Goodbye Gluten" I was actually at an Entenmann's outlet buying a glutenous treat for me ( I don't have celiac) and there it was! gluten-free Wraps!! in original & multigrain. There are 6 in a pack & it costs $2! yes $2!! I bought a pk for my kids & they like it. I tasted it too & they...
  3. U can put 1/2 in the freezer in serving size containers. I'm gonna make it again tonight, with more meat & less garlic.
  4. I am a lousy cook but i didn't mess up this recipe for ziti. My very picky DS even liked it. **NOTE** cook pasta for 1/2 the time it says on the box or it will be too mushy. It was a little too garlicy for me so I need to put a little less but to each his own. I also added 3/4 lb ground beef. For those like it real meaty add more meat 1-1 1/4 lb...
  5. tacos--hard shelled corn shells of course. Season your ground beef add gluten-free toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc)
  6. Milkshakes are high calorie. If you can drink them try to add at least 1 tall glass a day. If you plan on becoming an over the road driver life as a celiac may be even more difficult foodwise & when will you have time to go to dr when over the road? It sounds like you might be dehydrated/malnourished. Driving 10 hrs a day without good food/good health...
  7. Get a good thermos. You can fill with hot rice, meat, vegetables, or soup or stew. Make big pots on sunday so you'll have enough for a few days . You can use rice noodles & make wonderful chicken noodle soup. Rice noodles are cheapest at oriental stores & are similar to a box of spaghetti not on sale--16 oz for like $1.39. You can also make a...
  8. find a friend relative, neighbor or co-worker who can use it
  9. poor baby! Hope these hopitalizations phase out. The bone age scan is a 10 sec xray--over b4 you blink. It certainly wouldn't hurt to take a look-see at her growth plates. How tall is she again? and she is 10?
  10. @mommida-you might want to get her bones scanned & then you 'll find out if her plates are fused or what her equivalent bone age is. I will keep getting my DD's done yrly until her bones have fused.
  11. I believe what you are experiencing is a rice flour aftertaste. My DD & have have tasted many sweets made with rice flour & initially they taste good but then there was this weird aftertaste. Coconut flour is much better in sweets. Things made with coconut flour taste like the real thing: brownies, cupcakes, cookies, etc with no after taste. There...
  12. @ frieze: if DD would ingest enough calories she will fill out although she already has a cute little figure. I am sure she is still growing upward. @mommida: The endocrinologist said girls can grow up to 2 years after menses begins, and the Dr. herself was barely 5'0. However most other health care personnel & lay ppl tell me girls will not grow...
  13. Nearly 2 yrs ago our pediatrician ordered a bone age scan on my then 12.10 yp old dghtr. She was 4'7 and hadn't grown in 1.5 yrs. Her bone age was like 10.7, so almost 2 yrs behind. 1 yr later at almost age 14 her bone age revealed an equivalent age of 12.3 & she was 4'10. We will be doing another in Jan & she is just shy of 5 ft. As soon as...
  14. Thank you for your reply. Yeah I think you are right I read it as you are cured. My BAD! Best of Luck to you!
  15. ROCK ON!
  16. My 18 yo son who was dx'd with pdd-nos (at age 6) just started classes at the local college. He drives 2 dys a week & works 4 dys a week. So he is considered high functioning obviously but I did not feel he was ready to go to a residential college as his planning , handling ppl on the ph (bureaucracy) & daily living skills still need improvement...
  17. anwen & shaun: this thread is a yr old & the OP has not posted since. Please read the dates b4 you reply to a thread.
  18. 2 inches of growth & 12 lbs gained that is fabulous!! I would not consider hormone & testosterone supplements at this point. I would get his bone age retested. I had my DD retested & at 13 yrs 10 mths (in dec11)she showed a bone age of 12.3 however she has grown another 1.5 inches this yr, and has made it to an "A" cup. (that's big news for females...
  19. bloody diarrhea? Has he been chkd for ulcerative colitis?
  20. Think of your big head like this: bigger head to hold a bigger brain filled with wisdom
  21. Rosetapper: Until you were 24 you were 5'7 1/2? At what age did you attain 5'7 1/2? So you had one last growth spurt btwn 24-25 were you growing slowly all along till the last spurt? I never heard of a woman growing in her 20's except if she had tumor on her pituitary.I've heard of guys growing until 21 tho. The majority of women are their full height...
  22. Rosetapper: I would like to see pics if you ever get any. I think I'll have son's bone age scan done after all. You've given me hope that his growth plates may not be fused yet as I thought perhaps they were. Thx for all this info. 1 more q: exactly how tall are you & did you say son is now 6'4? (I guess that's 2 q's. lol...)
  23. rosetapper: Quite intersting indeed! I believe the pituitary glan realises growth hormones. So you are saying the growth hormone doesn't "shut off" until mid 2o's? no matter if puberty is complete? I was going to have my son get a bone age scan but decided against it since Dr. said he's about stage 5 will probably will not grow more, an inch maybe. Perhaps...
  24. rosetapper my son will be 18 next mth the celiac was discovered just last year. The pediatrician said that once stage 5 of puberty is complete no more growth will occur. He has a beard, chest hair, finger hair the whole 9 yards. How does the lack of hormone absorption affect the stages of puberty? Was/is stage 5 delay thru age 25? Did your son have all...
  25. sounds right. those other kids in neighborhood aren't sleeping enuf. Wait till the teenage years. Sleeping 12-14 hrs isn't unusual for some teens.
