ARCHIVED Anyone Ever Experience Vertigo?
mommyto2kids replied to mommyto2kids's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Should I ask the Dr. for the medicine to dry out the ear behind the drum or just wait and see if physical therapy works. What did the med do that the first or second poster mentioned? It wasn't too bad today, but who knows how it will be tomorrow. When I look up, sometimes I feel like the floor is shaking back and forth and sinking. Not so fun. -
The last 2-3 weeks I get vertigo in the afternoon and evening. A few days ago, I felt like I was going to fall over talking to a parent after school. That would have been so imbarassing. It is not super bad, but I've come to fear night driving. The Dr. is going to refer me to a physical therapist. Does anyone have any experience with this?

ARCHIVED What To Do For Pain
mommyto2kids replied to mikesgirl1990's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I can't digest beef. I get sick every time. You'd think I'd learn. My son rolls on the floor in pain with spicey food like beef jerkey so be careful. Hope you find what works. -
ARCHIVED Is Anything At A Chinese Restaurant Safe?
mommyto2kids posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Is anything at a Chinese restaurant safe to order? I'm sad. My family just went out and I stayed home. Does anyone know if any of their sauces are gluten free? Please let me know if you know of anything that is often found on a menue and safe for us. -
Someone asked me today what is a good gluten free cook book so have at it and help me answer her. Thanks so much.

ARCHIVED Cookbook Suggestions For A Newbie
mommyto2kids replied to Avalon451's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I like the clean eating magazine. You can tweak it to get the gluten out. That is the best I've seen. -

ARCHIVED Lots Of Behaviour Problems And Food Intolerances In Child
mommyto2kids replied to nocornhouse's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Victoria, Is your thesis posted somewhere that we could read it? Would you ever share it. We'd sure appreciate it. Thanks for all your insight? -
My experience is the same as Fey. For me what set off anxiety this week was having a margarita, just one. The next day I didn't eat breakfast and almost passed out driving. Not sure about that, but am making sure to eat something and am going to stay away from the margaritas. Nothing is worth the price of anxiety. It is worse than the bowel issues.

ARCHIVED Guide For Family/friends Available?
mommyto2kids replied to kota's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
It is a process for family to learn to care. Do all the cooking if he just doesn't get it. See if you can find another celiac to explain it to him. Sometimes family members just can't take direction from family members. Believe me, I know. -

ARCHIVED Picky 4 Year Old, Transitioning To Gluten-Free
mommyto2kids replied to lil'chefy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I decided I didn't want to make 2 dinners. I have the family eat gluten free dinner. When we all do it, it is easy. Perhaps have the whole family eat a certain way for a time. That will help. -
ARCHIVED Sometimes It's Hard ...
mommyto2kids replied to Alex163's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My husband gets that way when he has a cold. The more women I talk to, it is common for their man to act that way. It is not the gluten. They feel ill and they want to take it out on someone. That is what I think. -
ARCHIVED Glutened At Xmas Party
mommyto2kids replied to Nadtorious's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I don't think there is a web site. Go for it since you are a dietitian and then let us know where you will post it. -
ARCHIVED How Do You Explain A New Diagnosis To Your Child?
mommyto2kids replied to kb27's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Find out if there other kids in his class with a food issue. My son has one kid with a tree nut allergy, another with a milk allergy. He is highly sensitive to chocolate and red dye. He was tested for celiac but didn't test positive. But if there are some others with eating issues, your son wont feel as alone. -
ARCHIVED Still Symptomatic After 6 Months Of gluten-free Diet?
mommyto2kids replied to DanPatch's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My husband brought an article home from a registered diatitian that said that xanthan gum gould give the d. I can eat bread with it. Just no clue about the bisquick. -
Has anyone had trouble with it? Just checking. I've heard good things. I had one muffin from it and was ok. I react terribly to Bisqick and Arrowmills. So am leary of prepackaged stuff. Thanks so much.
