  1. IgG (Immunoglobulin G) and IgA (Immunoglobulin A) are types of antibodies searched for in tests for food sensitivities. Soe labs offer panels for each type. IgA are supposed to be the more accurate indicator, but some people have low total blood serum IgA which makes all of their IgA results false. Have you already cut other things besides gluten? I...
  2. The EB organic is wonderful. The soy free version we use now, not as much. It's much less salty to me too, which makes it not as tasty for us. BUT, I am so thankful for it, as it is the only DF and SF butter sub that I know of.
  3. Ahh, that sounds like an eye muscle issue with it in just those certain circumstances.
  4. Are you sure the probiotics are dairy free?
  5. Here you go. Hardest part was grabbing all the ingredients. If you like the recipe, I know of a place where you can order teff at a reasonable cost for future use. It's normally pricey in stores. aprovechar.danandsally.com/?p=228
  6. By light, do you just mean extra virgin? I wonder if coconut oil might be nice.
  7. Found it! Here's a quote from the article. Open Original Shared Link "Eight of the 122 celiac disease patients lacked both the heterodimer and the DRB104 alleles; therefore, we further screened the DQB1 locus to investigate if other alleles were present in association to celiac disease (2)(14). Two of these eight celiac disease patients showed the...
  8. Thanks so much. That is great info. I remember reading an article where a small minority were not DQ2 and DQ8. Where several members in a confirmed small celiac group had other genes. I have to find that again!
  9. Ack! Dairy not Diary. I hate typos.
  10. Unless it's a very small daycare and you really trust the provider, I would bring a traveling high chair. They're only about $30. I think it would be too tempting to use a high chair that was his for other kids occasionally. A full-size one would be kind of imposing as far as her storing all the time. Plus, if kids eat cleaner foods like goldfish and cheerios...
  11. No, I've been scared to try. Knowing people still react to soybean oil even though there's no soy protein in it seems like the same situation as ghee vs. dairy protein, but the soy version. I am dairy intolerant and mildly allergic to dairy too. So, just haven't tried yet for fear being only two months in with no short-term symptoms. Worry that I will love...
  12. Can you guys tell me the names of any probiotics you use that are Gluten-free Casein-free, please? I believe many are cultured in dairy. I'm hoping to find one that's not crazy expensive. Chewable ones available for children are welcome too. I've been using Primadophilus for years, but stopped using it when I began to eliminate casein.
  13. Is there any way to make buttercream CF? I've heard Earth's Balance is horrible.
  14. Do you have a recipe for your watermelon granita?
  15. I would be concerned about the eyes darting around for sure. That is a potential indicator that you are having a seizure. May well not be that, but it's nothing to take lightly.
  16. RiceGuy, do you have a reference for gram weights of our various gluten-free flours? Most labels included info where I could calculate, but some just gave nutritional info in grams.
  17. Do you have that article about the other genes? I remember reading it but haven't found again.
  18. Are you willing to make your own bread? I found a recipe online that I would never be able to distinguish from regular bread that I can post. I'm a few weeks gluten-free, so I haven't lost my taste for regular baked goods. The recipe is CF, SF, and EF too.
  19. I've had these results for a bit and find that I still really don't understand them. In talking to medical professionals, they talk about my set of genes as predisposing me to neurological problems rather than classic GI symptoms. I also thought that they said a minority of patients in Dr. H's (long named gluten researcher) studies had celiac with this gene...
  20. Yes, it would be expected that symptoms become worse if you are intolerant. I would suggest experimenting by eliminating other foods like soy, eggs, nightshades, and so on until symptoms fully resolve.
  21. I would ask for a copy of your test results and post them here for deciphering. You could have a mild IgE allergy to gluten and that's what they are referring to. Or you could have IgA or IgG reactions that would lead you to trying out a gluten-free diet to see how your body reacts. Or, you could have positives to some of the more specific celiac tests, and...
  22. It bothers me that the government regulations cater to allergy sufferers and not those with food intolerances, as if the intolerant people don't exist. My reactions are long-term only at this point, so I won't know if a restaurant grilling in soybean oil affects me. I'm even scared of trying out ghee, which everyone swears is fine. I have an allergy and...
  23. Last time I checked, the Pamela's baking mix had buttermilk powder in it, so make sure to check the label yourself. It is fabulous, better than wheat-based pancakes for us, and I miss it.
  24. I was refer to the buns using baking powder or soda minus yeast.
  25. Oh I don't use it myself. But restaurants and food makers sure do.
