  1. Aw oh, doesn't sound good!
  2. Thanks so much for the replies. I understand that vit A supplements are too risky because of the possible side effects, occuring to my doc......it is one of those that the body does not produce naturally and so can become toxic in large amounts. I understand that cod liver oil is a good substitute. If I have been misinformed let me know. I think I might be...
  3. Thanks for the update. I did get my buzzing in my ears to pass at one point. I was feeling very good, this was over a month ago.....cut back on my Bcomplex and the buzzing came back even worse than it was before. It took 10 days for it to catch up to me and then it took almost that for me to feel good again by adding the B complex back. Today I have had only...
  4. This has been going on for 8 months. While other symptoms have gone away this has not. Please tell me what I am describing and how to help it: blinds on windows literally blind me striped shirts, same, pattern seems to bright escalator lines in the steps are too bright and blur my vision so I can't see the step properly lots of bright leaves scattered...
  5. Went out to dinner last night, always where it is the most challenging and most risky. Husband told me that rather than asking about bread on anything I HAD to tell the waitress I have an allergy and i HAD to make it clear to her. This was a first for me. I have asked about breading before only to have something coem out unbreaded swimming in gravy. I told...
  6. By the sounds of your symptoms you have found the right place to be. Your journey sounds much like mine, with most of the same symptoms. Read the post on neuropathy here and I think you will relate. Quite honestly, I do not know how it all relates as far as blood tests. I was not dignosed with a blood tests. I was dignosed after months of tests. The pieces...
  7. That is extremely scary! The very people we lean on to help us and they have no clue. Best to you!
  8. I absolutely agree about the vitamin toxity, scarring stuff. I am doing so so much better and just very very thanksful! I, like you, want to help as many as I can. I too see people suffering. I look at people eating glutens and think of the damage they could be doing to themselves and not even relaize it. Glad you are doing better, I too just want to put...
  9. 70 minute walk!!!! Ate out without getting glutened!!! Wonderful big mixed green salad with turkey. Splurged with one glass of wine.
  10. Okay I splurged......I have to be REAl careful with tomatoes and basically avoid them but I so wanted some lasagne. It was WONDERFUL! Made it myself with Italian sauage and gluten free lasagne noodles. My daughter and husband both thought it was good too. Keeping my fingers crossed that I won't start itching!!
  11. YAY!!!! It is always good to be able to go out and have a success!
  12. I have been on a gluten-free diet since April and have made so many mistakes but today marks 4 weeks since my last glutening experience. This is the longest I have managed to go in between, and it feels good. Got really sick earlier this week from some guar gum, I do not do well with any of the gums but thank goodness that passed in about 3 days time!!!
  13. Today is 4 weeks since my last glutening, the longest I have been able to go since I started my diet in April!
  14. What a great idea, I will keep that in mind! I hope you and your family get to feeling better soon!
  15. Rachelle, are you eating corn tortillas?
  16. Goodness, thank goodness you are looking into this! I am 48 and it was my daughter who helped me and it was thru her that I went gluten-free initially, I too was very sick and docs could not figure out why. It is very possible from what you have listed as your mom's symptoms that she may have gluten ataxia, look it up. This is from nerve damage. More than...
  17. You too, huh? Makes me wonder what in the world they are thinking, what they are looking at and why, when you have all the low marks, would they not investigate this? Like I said, I hate to even think that way. I feel lucky to have requested copies of my labwork when I did which was less than 3 months after the onset of my hard symptoms. I try to think...
  18. Until a person lives in themselves, they can't understand. I hear the pressure you feel and how you want to be heard byt these "friends" who have no compassion for what you are dealing with but realize this is their perception but you do not have to own it. You have to do what is best for you and I can guarantee you that the long term effects of continuing...
  19. Celiac Mommy, go to the "Workout Buddy" with all the yellow stars. We are keeping an on-going post for our workouts, weight, progress, any good eating habits, etc. to give each other essentive!!
  20. Oh same here. I try not to even think that way. I know if I would have depended on my doc (old doc) I would be in serious trouble right now.
  21. I would suspect the sausage had dairy. Sauage is tricky and I do not eat it unless I see what it is made with. And unfortunately unless your meal was cooked in a seperate pan it could have been sitting on the gridle where panckaes had been cooked. I worked in a kitchen many years ago. They scape the gridle but that well enough to get every crumb off. Be patient...
  22. IrishHeart makes a very good point with the supplements. I think we are all uniquely different dealing with the same issue. I thought I'd share this link about vitamin toxity. We are all trying to heal and not make things worse! Open Original Shared Link A blood test will tell you what you need but make sure you get a copy of the results even if doc...
  23. Any other joggers/ former joggers here who want to get back into their running shoes??
  24. First of all, thank you GlutenFreeMamax2 for starting this support group. It's help me get my feet going again which is exactly what I needed! 30 minutes on the treadmill today at 3.8 mph Livened up my mixed green salad for lunch with some cilantro and real bacon bits. Homemade pork stir-fry with veggies and rice for dinner. Only 3 cookies and...

    ARCHIVED Family

I am glad to hear this! I think sometimes we shelter our friends and family from what we don't want them to know about us, or be concerned about, and then we don't understand that they don't know more. This is something I had to realize and I had to learn to open up more about what I was dealing with and what I was going thru to help others understand. It...
