  1. I, basically due to basketball, have had to add brown rice, potatoes, and fluid milk into my diet. I wasn't getting as many carbs as I needed to survive our grueling 3 hour practices. I still feel great and haven't "suffered" from going off it a bit, but I was on it for 6-7 months without cheating once, so I obviously healed well enough to continue to do...
  2. You WILL feel 10000 times better if you follow the diet correctly... without cheating. Good luck !
  3. It is called the specific carbohydrate diet and more indepth info can be found on the web at www.breakingtheviciouscycle.com. Basically it is just a really restrictive definately Gluten free diet that "cleans" out your intestines by starving the bad bacteria out, allowing the good bacteria to thrive.
  4. DO sucrets complete (vapor cherrry) have gluten in them? I can't find it anywhere!
  5. I just went to the Doctor yesterday and she is going to put me on Provera... or a possible substitution for its generic form. Do both have gluten in them?
  6. I really started to get "better" when I eliminated processed foods from my diet. Eating fresh fruit, vegetables and good lean meat really eliminated this problem. (Yogurt as well)
  7. I had abdominal distention really bad for a while. It takes so long to recover from this disease, so don't get too frustrated when it doesn't go away ASAP. I know what you are going through... just stick in there!!
  8. I think the book says that it should last no longer than a week... but everyone is different.
  9. Have a happy turkey day everyone and good luck sticking to SCD!
  10. Hang in there. Grandma tried, but accidents do happen. Best of luck to your daughter getting better.
  11. I bought a bag of Mi-Del gluten-free chocolate chip cookies because I was dying for a cookie and about half way through the bag, I looked at the ingredients to see what i was eating. At the bottom of the bag it had that the cookies were made in a factory that processed "wheat and peanuts". What does this mean? Are the cookies safe or not? Russell Stover...
  12. I was always so embarrassed when i would get the worst gas, but I didn't know what it was from or what gluten even was, so I lived with it for a long time. I am so glad that is over.
  13. When I was at BK the last time, I checked out their allergen listings because it was posted on a large poster on the wall. I am 99% sure the milkshakes were gluten-free, but I could have read it wrong.
  14. Good!
  15. I got a flu shot about a week ago and feel great!
  16. I eat a lot of brown rice and green peas with turkey burgers. Nearly every day I have to pack breakfast, lunch and dinner with me.
  17. I went here today with my family and first asked the hostess about anything gluten-free... no luck, then the waitress... no luck, so I asked for the manager, he said "glucose what?" I basically said thanks but no thanks, so I sat there while my family scarfed down onion rings, cheese fries, and cake. My family offered to take me somewhere else, but told...
  18. I do not believe Trident has gluten in it. At least I hope not because I am chewing it right now.
  19. I looked on their website and basically they said that they will not say if it contains gluten or not because they are trying to cover their own butt. I just want to know if these fudge bars have caused anyone problems or their cream cicle.
  20. I haven't ordered any bulk almond flour. Is that what you used or did you buy smaller bags and crush them yourself. I haven't had pizza since being diagnosed (7 months) and I am dying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. If you can afford it, I would say it is so much easier to use a yogurt maker. I think mine was 50 dollars shipped and I use it all of the time, so it is definately worth the money.
  22. I have a picture of myself that I want to put up, but I don't know how. It says that the board administrator will not allow it.... please help!
  23. I use the multivitamin VITALERT. I have used it for a couple of months now and really like it, also printed on the label it says this product is free of gluten, starch..... I buy it from WAL-MART.
  24. Are the mainstream frozen turkeys gluten-free or do they add an enhancing solution that has gluten in them? This is my first Thanksgiving and everyone keeps asking me what they want me to have them make that I can eat...so confused sometimes!
