  1. Does Light Hawaiian Punch have gluten?
  2. It is super simple to make your own yogurt and in my opinion it is ABSOLUTELY essential. If you have any questions please ask and yes this will be the hardest diet you will ever be on in your life, but it is so worth it!
  3. When starting the diet, I believe it is essential to just eat the carrot soup they have recommended in the book. IT definately cleans out all of the bad stuff...
  4. Just as a reminder, you might lose weight the first week or so on SCD, but if you eat the cheese, nuts, and all of the other calorie dense goodies, you will definately gain and feel great!!!!!
  5. One time I GAINED 12 lbs overnight after a large gluten attack. It sucks gaining weight!
  6. I agree! Start SCD ASAP! I think the "oil" in your stool is all of the fat that your body is not absorbing... just going straight through the body.
  7. jenvan- I am so excited for you that you are starting SCD. I believe you are going to be amazed at how much better you feel in a short amount of time. Good luck (and eat all of the chocolate your body can handle because you won't be able to eat it for a while!!)
  8. Why can't you have raisins?
  9. When on SCD, i noticed that as well. Raisins and really fibrous things would get me gassy, so I just would stick to a "simpler" diet for a few days (example of chicken breast, really cooked carrots, green beans and homemade applesauce). once I got a yogurt maker, I noticed the improvement and my body could handle all of these foods without being gassy,...
  10. Yeah, it is a bit difficult to get a MASSIVE amount of carbs on this diet unless you really try, but just make sure you continue to eat all of the fruits and veggies you can and I don't know all of the nutrition info on the homemade yogurt, but I am sure it has good carbs. ALso, if your body isn't getting enough calories per day, you go into "starvation...
  11. Again, I will consider myself a broken record and I apologize to the people who have heard me say this over and over, but.... the specific carbohydrate diet EXPONENTIALLY reduced the time of recovery. I feel amazing and I have only been on the diet for 5 months.
  12. I checked that too... and they definately are gluten free.
  13. I wonder what the percentages are on the possibility of the children having celiac disease or gluten intolerances if only one parent has it... I hope it isn't as "dominating" genetically as it is over my life!
  14. If I had a dollar from every person who didn't know that "white flour" had wheat in it..............
  15. I am glad it is gluten-free, but for the SCDers it is still illegal, which stinks..........
  16. AMEN! Every post that I do outside of this thread has to do with me introducing them to the SCD and telling them that they should really look into it. If you want to get healthy, do it! I feel like a broken record.....

so then the powder version of gatorade that you make yourself is gluten-free as well?
  18. Splenda is an isomer of sugar. Basically, our body can "recognize" and then process or use the calories from regular sugar because it knows it is there. WIth splenda, it is an isomer that the body doesn't recognize and thus passes through the body without being detected, thus it is "Calorie Free". Obviously too much of anything is a bad thing, but...
  19. Either I am extremely lucky, extremely healed, or just had "beginner's luck" with going on an M & M, dove bar, pop corn extravaganza. I didn't feel sick at all and actually (this is graphic but) I had some of the best BM I have ever had and I feel wonderful. SO I don't know what that means...
  20. I am in St. Louis Missouri, and actually we play U of Missouri Rolla in basketball because they just joined our conference. WHat a small world.
  21. I haven't found any info on them yet. I know they have come blue corn tortilla chips that seem to have mostly "natural" ingredients, but that is just my guess that they are gluten-free. ALso, they have this amazing salsa from Grandessa that again seems to be very natural with big chunks of vegetables in it, but I am only guessing that it is gluten-free...
  22. SCD is awesome. I am so, so happy you are trying it. It is so funny, but my BMs are very "normal" now too and I am so excited about it!
  23. I don't know if many of you have even heard of alidi's grocery store, but if you have then maybe you can help. I don't know if some of their products are gluten free or not. I don't remember a number to call, so I am just curious if anyone can help.
  24. thanks for your input. After it lists the ingredients, it says that it was processed in a plant with other nuts... which is intuitive and makes no mention of wheat, barley, rye, so I think I am good!
  25. Is the Planters trail mix (nut and chocolate) gluten free? I sure hope so.
