  1. Thank you, I really appreciate you suggestions. We are going 2 weeks in September, we also rented a condo in Divi Golf looking forward to the private roof top with hot tub and BBQ. Madame Jeannete's and Yemange "(understand they give you gluten-free bread w/ your meal) are on my list. I'm planning on 1/2 in and 1/2 out on evening meals. Also looking into Linda's (gluten-free pancake and pizza)...

  2. Thanks for the iodine information Dani and squirmingitch.
  3. I pieced together today that cashews were bothering me too! I realized it a week or so ago, but thought it was the brand that they were cross contaminated, so I waited a week and tried another brand and flavor (first ones were honeyroasted) it had no cross cantamination warning and no wheat ingredients ate some yesterday and today and had a reaction both...
  4. Madame Jeanette's was great, I emailed them because I wasn interested in a specific meal, it was the best I had on the island. My hubby prefered Gianni's, they had gluten free pasta, also Yamanja Grill had a gluten free menu and did well, the food was great too.

Coke is bottled on the island with their water and cane sugar and the coke secret mix, so it was safe and better...

  6. Cathey,

We had a wonderful time in Aruba, we were there 8 days and did not prepare anything in our room, I did get some cc one day, my fault I went on assumption and didn't ask enough questions.

We stayed at Divi Golf in a condo, we took crunchmaster crackers, and bridgeford peperoni in our luggage along with some kind bars & small bags of chip, bought cheese and other ...

  8. Just curious, how was your vacation to Aruba? DH and I are booked for 2 weeks September. My first trip gluten-free as you. Have a condo reserved so plan on many meals in house. Where did you stay and where did you eat out and what do you recommend? Hope it was a very enjoyable and food safe vacation.

    Thank you for your tips.

  9. I leave for Aruba in two days, my second visit but first time being Gluten Free, I found many restaurants with gluten free menu's online and if I was interested in others I sent them an email, sometimes specifically asking about a dish, everyone responded and sounded like they had an awareness. I also saw on an Aruba bulletin board I follow some people that...
  10. I have only been gluten free since October of 2011, we went to Disney in February 2012. My first gluten free meal was at the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, when I made reservations ahead of time I asked them to notate gluten free, but failed to realize that dinner at this resturant was family style. NO fear, we were seated the cook came out introduced...
  11. Yes, only mine started on my body, each time it came back it spread a little further. Then I noticed that my face was on fire everytime this rash appeared, ears (inside and out) scalp and even my eye lids. It took 12 weeks for a diagnosis and it took almost a month for the rash to clear 100%, now if I get any gluten my face (in the exact same spots on...
  12. I used Bare Minerals and had no issues, except my skin is very oily and a liquid make up usually works better. I am now using a product called Repachage, I found it searching suggestions for gluten free makeup and I verified when I called to order that it was gluten free. So far I have been using it for 3 weeks, I really like their product too.
  13. I think you are very right, I like to use Benedryl as an example, the bottle says right on it not to use it on the skin if you are also ingesting another form, and every dr out there will tell you the same thing. Yet those same doctors will tell you that gluten in your beauty products will have no affect. Realy? Also most facial products claim that they...
  14. This time around it was an Endocronologist. My Celiac or gluten intolerance (no clear diagnosis and will not go back on gluten to risk a false negative) is attacking my thyroid and I have Hoshimoto's as well. I started off at the regular dr, thinking it was allergy related, ended up at the allergist who said it wasn't allergy and then to a dermo who...
  15. Rash with intense itching was what lead to my diagnosis. If I ingest any gluten I can feel it in my skin before I notice it anywhere else. For me my rash is red, like a sunburn because it is warm to the touch and I run a low grade fever. I was taking benedryl, clairitin, zyrtec and tagament all which gave me no relief (my assumption is because it is not...
  16. This is my first gluten free Thanksgiving and I have only been gluten free for a couple months. I offered to make the turkey, I ordered an Amish Turkey and it will ensure that no one stuffs the turkey as other family memebers will be making the dressing. I cooked gluten free cornbread and froze that for cornbread dressing that I will also make and take...
  17. I just ordered Paleo Comfort Foods, it is a new book, but was a suggestion from a friend who has been on the Paleo diet for a few years. She loves it. Unfortunately I have not recieved mine yet, should be here next week.
  18. I have DH from Celiac as well as Thyroid issues and it is severly drying out my scalp. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good gluten free one? I bought Garnier Fructis because I didn't see anything in it that even resembled wheat and when I just used it I had an immediate skin reaction.
  19. Pricklypear: No thyroid meds, only my antibodies and TPO are high, my T3, T4 and TSH are all normal so he will not give me any medication. Where can I find Vanicream, I haven't tried that one yet and really haven't found anything that works. My skin is extremely dry, I've used Oil (olive, crisco, grape seed) several lotions and even covered things in...
