ARCHIVED List Of Safe Foods To Share With Daycare?
VydorScope replied to lamood's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
We do not do it htat way. We pack all of our sons foods and jsut tell them he can only eat from his own bag. I do not expect nor think a daycare can keep up with the ever changing gluten-free lists. -

ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
OKay I am home from work now, and just checked from home, my computer showed the 9-28-2005 page UNTIL I remove a cookie named "mdchoice" from Firefox. Now it shows the 2-7-2006 and clearly states gluten in the fries. I do not know what they are doing over there, only time will tell at this point I guess. -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I copied the page earlier. Open Original Shared Link I do not know what games they are playing, if any, but that is their unedited page as it was today after they updated it to 2/7/2006. HOly cow is right. Sorry my wording was horredonus. I need to get better about slowing donw and reading what I write sometimes! ... -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I think the problem here is that McDonalds has mulitple web servers (fairly normal) but they have not done a good job updating all their servers, so what version of hte page you see depends on what server you hit. That would explain the cookies comment a few posts back. But that is jsut a guess. -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Agian Check the date on the page. If its anything other then "This list is effective 02-07-2006. " you have an old copy of the page. The current copy of the page clearly states fries have gluten AND wheat in them. This is why they date the page. -

For crying out loud, check the dang date on the page if it does not say 2-7-2006 you have an old copy of the page. VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Exaclty, McDondals states the fires have gluten in them, as of the 2-3-2006 AND the 2-7-2006 updates. So if anyone thinks they dont, thats fine, but you wont catch me feeding thier gluten to my son! -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
ther are NOT listing it as gluten free. Make sure your reading the page dated 2/3/2006. There is a check under gluten for the freis. Thier reps might not yet know since it seems alot of you keep seeing mcdonalds old page. I am tempted to mirror thier page so you can see the current page (that will get around your broswers cache issue) but I think that would... -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Well some ppl say that different ppl have different tollerence leves for gluten, some bash the heck out of that idea. Maybe theres just not enough gluten in it ot get about YOUR tollerence level. My son (and I , but I have not tracked myself as close as I do him) have never _NOT_ had a reaction to thier fries. So I am not surprised by this info. -

ITs a browser cache problem. Make sure your reading the page dated 2/3/2006 if you not, you will not see the check under gluten. -

ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
In the intreste of being fiar...Lets summarize the facts here... 1) McDonalds has up till 2/3/06 calimed thier fries were GLUTEN FREE, and defined gluten free as "no wheat, barly, rye or oats" 2) McDonalds has NOT change thier fries at all. 3) McDonalds is now required by law to state thier is in fact wheat in thier fries. 4) Phone calls to them reveal... -
ARCHIVED Mcd Fries 2: The Phone Calls :)
VydorScope replied to ryebaby0's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Correct. McDonalds states they have always had gluten in them, but they perosnly feel it was removed in processing. They however are silent on the how that could happen or work. The new labling laws force them to disclose this, and no longer list them as gluten free. -
ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VydorScope replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I disagree. MOST ppl refused to blame gluten. They blamed "fired foods are bad" or diary, or this or that, but when I would point out the fires have gluten in in them, they went on the attack to defend thier fries. Sorry Richard, but reality needs to sit in, and that reality is that McDonalds fries have always had gluten in them, and as we know the... -
