  1. I presently do 30 mins on the elliptical machine maintaining 155-165 heart rate. When I get up to liek 170, o r 180 I back off. I do not want to push it do hard. Please define what you mean by this? The only place I know that term from is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In that case it can take poeple over 24 hours to recover from exercise. I certainly...
  2. YES it does show up on the EKG, that is how mine was found. I said you can not MONITOR with the EKG like you can with the MUGA. Sorry for the confusion. I also have a fairly Low Ejection Faction because of it, so they really watch me. I at one time got educated on how to read an EKG to see for myself, and I need refresh that ... been a while. I do...
  3. We have gotten 1/2 dozen or so cakes from our Baskin Robins with out any problems... sadly there is none near by us now (we moved), so we miss them big time. We did have to order 48-72 hours in advance so they could make it. But that was fine. It was worth the wait
  4. -1 PM's is a long standing bug in IPB that reoccurs from time to time in upgrades. Just ignore it. I have actaully had mine say -6 once, with out deleting anything. I see this on my board too, and spoken to IPB tech support about it and they just basically admit it happens and leave it at that. Its harmless....
  5. Other then diet challenges for testing, I have been gluten-free since my son was dx'd. Its just easier. I was gluten-free at the time of diagnoses with the LBB (if I remember all my dates right). I have been dealing with the LBB for going on 4 years now, and in the beginning I was getting 2-3 muga's a year, so any CHANGE in condition would have been picked...
  6. As a person WITH OUT celiac disease, who has a MUGA verified and monitored LBB, and has tried the gluten-free diet I can say that at least in my case there is no connection to the damage, and no healing from it. Is is possible that if you have celiac disease it could cause heart damage, and look like a LBB? Sure, I would buy that... and in that case it could...
  7. Sure, it be a short book though, something like "PIG OUT AND ENJOY LIFE WHILE YOU CAN!"
  8. IMO, forget the bisopy and go gluten-free... the postive blood test is enough. If you stop eating gluten, and get better. Then you start eating gluten and get sick... then you have your answer, eating gluten makes you sick, regardless of what label you want to put on it. The biopsy is NOT a conclusive test, and is an unneeded risk, IMO.
  9. THE FOLLOWING IS A TRUE STORY - NOT JOKING OR EMBELLISHED AT ALL I get one morning, and head to the bathroom and weight in for the day (after getting undressed, and emptying my bladder and all taht...), score for the morning is 183.5. Well I then stumble over to the kitchen and eat about TWO POUNDS of breakfast (not hard to do... sounds like a lot more...
  10. No. The reason is simple, if your lotion has gluten in it, and you put it on your hands, then you pick up a gluten-free food item... you see where this is going? You just added gluten to your gluten-free food. Same with shampoo. Its well know that you never get it all out of your hair, so during the day if you ever touch your gluten covered hair, then food...
  11. I do not have celiac disease, but my son does. DumDums do not bother him. Stick is paper, and paper is not made from wheat as I recall its made from wood.
  12. Cocoa pebbles are "safe" as of the box we just bought, but ALWAYS carry a CC risk, so use caution.
  13. While I was joking... that sure does sound like fun! LOL! I was thinking "Hay rides" around Halloween....
  14. Pumpkin Rides... best done after the first freeze. Its where you get a huge pumpkin, climb on top out and ride it down an icy hill! Great fun, esply when you crash at the bottom and the pumpkin goes to gooey pieces all over!
  15. Think more along the lines of events like Pumpkin Rides, or petting smelly farm animals, those kinds of things. This is coming up agian cause the circus is in town... still not sure I am clear on if that is safe or not. I am just dense today!
  16. Well what would be at places with horses/etc ? Circuses, Pumpkin patches, etC/
  17. We have been avioding taking our son to circuses, farms, etc, any place where there is "hay". Is that wrong? I am not really clear on what "hay" is and if it would be an issue from a gluten standpoint?
  18. **THE FOOD ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS NETWORK SPECIAL FOOD ALLERGY ALERT NOTICE** WHEAT ALLERGY ALERT April 18, 2007 Patrick Cudahy, Inc. is recalling
  19. ALWAYS CHECK INGREDIENTS AS COMPANIES CHANGE RECIPES WITH OUT NOTICE POST Cocoa Pebbles POST Frutiy Pebbles GM Dora the Explorer Disney Little Einsteins Disney Mickey Mouse Club (I think thats the name of it...) NEW boxes of Trix are gluten free, again. just a few months ago this was not true, so probably plenty of old stock out there Kroger...
  20. It really does not seem to matter how many ppl react, nor the postive test results for gluten in the ingredients for the fries... the die hard mcd's fans (many even on this forum) refuse to stop calling the fries gluten-free so ppl like you reap the consequences. I am sorry you had to find out the hard way.
  21. Even if the fries were gluten-free (I did not believe there were before the news came out, and see no reason to believe they are now) , the x-contimation factor at those places is about as high as you can get, so I would blame the fries AND the taco salad. Next time, try and pack a snack
  22. He seems to be exploring feelings right now. Like he just this week for the FIRST time ever said "daddy, so cold!" We where driving home from someplace and the heat had not kicked in the truck yet, so it was prbly like 40 or 50 degrees. He is still working on what "scared" means. I am not sure he understands it yet, because he does not always seem to use...
  23. Well.. what is normal for a little boy.. how about sticking dog food in his ears? LOL! What do you mean by "a possible developmental issue" ?
  24. Your son got half his genes from you, and half from his father. Since you have all the symptoms, and your husband does not, I would say its more likely he got it from you then from him. I am not well versed on the gene testing for celiac disease since its way out of my price range, so I am only speaking from general knowledge. Go see that doc if you can...
  25. Put it off, and try the diet is my advice. Then bring your doc the results of your diet challenge. A colonoscopy is a valid test to check other conditions that even if the diet proves celiac disease you may want to consider.
