  3. Man, this is sad in a way.. it is such a great thoguht to visit a house where pppl understand how deadly normal food is. ;huh:
  4. I was just in Lousville this weekend (for Promise Keepers, awsome event btw!)... guess I missed out on any Celiac Forum Hip Meeting Parties
  5. We usally get of the Turnpike at 7a, so we pass 5 enroute for sure. We come up the 495 and then 95 via the harbor tunnel, and eventually go over the bridge. 295 migt be in there, but once we get through the tunnel we just follow the 95/turnpike signs all the way to 7a. Driven it enough times now Im mostly on autopilot so do not recall any fine details...
  6. Unlikly the window would break. The green stuff is mold, it grews where the house gets damp and does not dry out fast (usally the north side, or any side that gets alot of shade). It needs to be cleaned off, cuase over time it can eat in to your house....very slowly, but surely.
  7. When I was testing to see if I had it too, I gave up gluten cold turkery and had no withdrawl. (infact am 99% gluten-free still) My son was so sick from celiac disease (near death) that any withdrawl he might have had would have been completely masked by his recovery so can not say for sure either way about him.
  8. Y'all just jealous cause , UNLIKE KAREN most of you are to embarrased to admit you thought about it more hten once... (though your wrong in this case, cause "Mrs" and I will be apart to night take care of different responsilbities.)
  9. well we com up via i95/turnpike, then get off on 195 towards Great Adventure... so would not go by you, but that would not stop us from driving out to see ya, esply since you have a gluten-clue! As for the Adtoption, we are jsut trying to get mioney right now. We have had one realy nice member of this boiard donate enough to cover the fingerprinting...
  10. We usally come up twice a year, and either stay with her mom in Toms River, or my mom in Manchester. Since we are saving up for the Adoption, I suspect we will not be up this Christmas, so not sure when next trip will be.
  11. NOT true Unless your calling "tiredofdoctors!!! " a man
  12. WEll next time I am in NJ you can treat me and my faimly to a nice home cooked dinner, that make yuou feel better!
  13. As a father with a 3yr old that has celiac disease.... Absloutly with out question, cold turkey! I think it would be benifical for you to change your mindset, and start thinknig of gluten as a deadly posion. Then you will see that cold turkey is the only optoin.
  14. If he was UNDER me I could do that, but since he is not, I am extremely limited on that front. He "needs" just about everything he sees in an emial that will make his life better. Honestly, I am not sure he understands that. His level of computer skill is fairly nonexistant, I seriously had to each him how the power button worked. No I...
  15. Well I use Spybot and Adaware, but I do them manually. If they run automaticly I am sure they will ask him questions from time to time, and generate more tech support for me. heh
  16. NO Spelt IS Wheat. Spelt has wheat gluten in it becuase it is Wheat. As far as I understand it, the offical verdict on oats, assumingyou can find uncontaminated oats (only 2 producers that I know of, niehter is mainstream) is simply that some celiacs also react to oats, and there is no way to know without a oat challenge complete with atleast blood...
  17. No its not that easy for us. There are three of us, a dog and a bird. Costs us around $150 a week for food, but I would rather spend the money there, instead of TV, movies, etc, then risk my son get gluten.
  18. I did that (limited user) with his desktop, but then he is constantly bugging me to install/fix things. With the latop at least I only have to deal with it every couple months. Esply since he takes it on the road, and he will want somthing installed while on the road, so I would have to try and walk him thruogh it over the phone, which would be a disater...
  19. I would like to get one, but I would still pay some one to clean the house.
  20. Okay heres the deal. The CEO / Majority Shareholder of the corp that I work for is not very computer savey (I am being EXTREMELY nice...). He has a latop that is officaly company property, so it falls on me to fix it everytime he messes it up. Well he based on browing history is constantly at the less then family friendly section of the internet. Becuase...
  21. My house peak is probably 25-30', so I paid a realy cool guy $200 to do the entire house and deck. First time done since I moved in... 6 years ago. Looks MUCH better. Esply the north side that used to be neon green.
  22. You realy have a one track mind dont you (at least its a good track!)
  23. I would consider that to be a bigish dinner any more. But I do use a kitchen scale to get roughly "1 serving" of any given item... well okay fine I might Rachel ice cream occassionly.. okay prbly most nights
  24. Several years of testing, by serveral different docs, in a couple different hosiptials and eventually I figured it out my self, self tested with glucose meter at home, and then brought the results to my doc who agreed. The testing procedure is well established for hypoglycemia and can safely/easly be done at home, though the respectable medical information...
  25. Yae... we ahve a simular problem with birds in our dryer vent. I had to install fencing to keep them out! heh either meaning of "BS" works there No worries, I often have to look back over threads to see if I replied already I am home now, so treating me self to a bunless cheese burger. Well thats great, it shows...
