  1. Periods of quite weak & shaky. Some dizzy but much better than yesterday. Not nearly as much brain fog. Woke up twice last night itching but it wasn't so bad & got right back to sleep. 1 new blister today & that's all. Lots of general body aches, bones, muscles, joints. Couldn't get enough to eat this morning --- like a bottomless pit. Makes me...
  2. Most excellently put Prickly! Perfect.
  3. The genetic markers won't show if either of them are celiac. It isn't a conclusive test in terms of a concrete dx. Prickly & others know much more about the specifics of which blood tests exactly should be done so I will let them answer that. I'm sure they will be on soon. There may be a problem with the 7 mo. old for 2 reasons other than the steroid...
  4. Keeping our fingers crossed that it goes away quickly for him. Keep us posted please.
  5. Actually the last couple hours I've been feeling somewhat better. Not as fog brained & the dizzy, off balance stuff is only coming in waves now with breaks in between. I haven't had any new blisters or bumps appear since late afternoon & in general the itching has been much improved. Lots of places have settled down & are not raised anymore....
  6. Actually I do have beets --- in a jar. But not going there yet. I DO have some Vodka just waiting for me. No sals, no gluten ---- I'm GOOD!
  7. With a chaser of beet juice eh?
  8. Why Shroomie are you saying you've never had the pleasure of eating sauteed tumbleweeds????? They are quite delicious! Thank you so much for finding that for me. Hmm.... I love both beets & spinach but haven't had either since November???? I never had problems with them then but we know that doesn't mean a thing now.
  9. I think I'm really dense today. Yes, I think I just plain have a problem with Quinoa. Bummer b/c I really like it & can eat it for breakfast & it carries me fine until lunch. But it's off my list. And I haven't done the Amaranth either since first of April & now I'm afraid to try it for a good long while. I am still following low sal BTW. I...
  10. I think I understand what you're saying Prickly. Since Quinoa is not a fresh from the farm food then it draws it into question if I read you right? I can accept that if that's the point & that may account for the dh flare but what about all the other physical/mental happenings?
  11. Itchy, I also meant to say that I'm very happy to hear you are on a rapid healing trend. I hope THIS time it sticks!
  12. I know. It's more than frustrating isn't it? Catch 22. Caught between a rock & a hard place. Come on here & vent when you need to; it's perfectly understandable & we all have to sometimes. Big hugs!
  13. Thank you sweet Dani.
  14. Cougie & Dani, I get dyslexic too! Really irritating.
  15. Prickly, I am not eating anymore Quinoa. Lesson learned! I DO wonder if this may be a temp. thing though & maybe I can have it back somewhere down the road 6, 8 mos. or a year down the road. itchy, You didn't specify if you have the whole body having been glutened feeling or if it's only the dh flaring. Can you clarify please? Let's see Dani...
  16. Sitting here with such heavy brain fog It takes all I have to concentrate on writing this. Sitting still in this chair but feel like I'm reeling around. DH is itching & blistering again. The story: I went low sal & everything went amazingly well. That was about April 1st. All my dh was clearing right up. Only had a few places left which hadn't fully...
  17. And Peg...for now ditch the dairy products & also soy. Many celiacs have problems with both in the beginning. Also with dh the dairy is high in iodine & that can make the dh flare or not go away. Someone please tell Peg about the iodine factor here. I have terrible brain fog & out there right now. Feels like I've been glutened. Will start a...
  18. Perhaps. I actually was thinking tonight about starting an "I Wonder" thread for everyone to put their "I wonder" things on that they've thought about regarding celiac. Might be amusing at any rate.
  19. Absolutely Lisa, it's just a theory that I have. No scientific research, no scientific facts.
  20. Have you found any gluten-free bread that you like? You could make ham & swiss sandwiches or roast beef or..... how about BLT?
  21. I read that same study Prickly & you explained it well. I'm not even going hunting for that study tonight but just backing up what you said. And JNbunnie, yes dh = celiac. We just went through a whole thing on that in the dh forum with documentation. Problem is there hasn't been that much research done on dh alone. There hasn't been enough on celiac...
  22. Here's hoping. I have all my fingers crossed for you plus my legs & eyes & anything else I can think of to cross!
  23. LOL! The reason I dislike fish is b/c I grew up on the river (salt water) & we were not rich so fishing provided a LOT of food for our family as it did many other families in the area. So we ate fish about 5 nights a week. I wasn't crazy about it in the first place but eating it that often kind of turned me off. I will eat select fish --- snook -- which...
  24. My dad was full Dutch although he was born in the US.
  25. Can you get your 2 second cousins with celiac disease to sit down with you & your parents & have a talk about how celiac disease is genetic & how much damage it can do if you don't follow a gluten-free diet like giving you cancer or insulin dependent diabetes etc, etc... It sounds like your parents are in denial & your brothers are just being...
