ARCHIVED My Journey..where To Go From Here..
ncdave replied to AshBil's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
First welcome to the forum, you"ve found a wealth of information here. You have a lot of reading and studying ahead of you. Your story sounds all to familer to me. Be very careful with the gluten-free packaged foods, i would not trust them at this point. Eat fresh meat veggies an fruit, shop around the edge of the grocery store, stay out of the isles. You... -
ARCHIVED 2 Months In And Frustrated!
ncdave replied to glutenfree015's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sounds like your off to a great start, keeping a food log is the only way during healing. I often wish i had started out like you, took me 2 months to remove dairy an 9 months to remove corn. If i had it to do over i think i would have been better to remove gluten, dairy, soy, and corn. Then i could have kept a food log and figured it out from there. Seems that... -
ARCHIVED Barretts Esophagus And Acid Reflux Meds Causing Severe Mucle Pain
ncdave replied to karoyse's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Corn was causing severe muscle pain for me. It"s more than likely in every pill your taking. Once i removed it from my diet the muscle pain went away in less than a week. -
ARCHIVED Petition for Gluten-Free Labeling on White House Website - Celiac.com
ncdave replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
I agree with this, we don"t need a 20ppm law. What most of us needs is a zero tolerance law. I also agree with GFINDC that we have to start somewhere. -
Unless you eat corn on a regular basis, i"m going with the corn. I only recently found out corn does exactly what you described to me. I cerently hope it"s not corn, you think gluten is in everything. Corn is even worse, hopefully it"s not corn or prunes. I hate to see anybody lose a food item from there safe list.

Hay doc, does this antibotic for my broncitus have any wheat or corn in it? No it doesen"t contain anything like that, i think you"ll be fine. One phone call to the mfg proved no gluten, but azithromycin (more common known as a z pac) does indeed contain corn.

ARCHIVED Easy/processed Meat For Super Sensitive?
ncdave replied to aquaholical's topic in Super Sensitive People
Only meat i can tolerate is baked chicken wings, 4 at a time. Lightly sprinkled with salt baked at 425 for 45 mins. It"s not much meat, but has a lot of protein. My only veggie is garden peas, fruit is banana,(creamed)coconut. I do eat baked fish, but i like fish. Some types of fish are much easyier to digest than others, fresh tuna is very hard to digest... -
ARCHIVED Pins & Needles Pain In Feet, Spasms In Legs
ncdave replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello again avr1962, I see your on no grains, does that include corn? I had terable muscle pain to the point i could hardly stand up, an numbness in my toes. My multi vitimans that i had taken for 9 months contained corn. I tried adding some more vitimans that also contained corn an it knocked me for a loop. I removed corn an white potatoes from my diet... -
ARCHIVED How Long Does Healing Take! So Frustrated!
ncdave replied to Maryw88's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
According to dr oz there"s enough area inside the small intestine to cover a tennis court, now that"s a lot of healing! Sounds like your on the right track Mary, it does take a lot of patience, but you"ll get there. I'm not well yet, but i will say after 9 months, my last 2 weeks have been wonderful. -
ARCHIVED Girlfriend Making Me Sick And Dont Know Why
ncdave replied to deals88's topic in Super Sensitive People
Some hair sprays contain wheat. -
I know you said "It just comes and goes randomly and doesn't seem related to anything specific". Is it possably you just haven"t figured out what causes it yet? Have you given up dairy yet, thats what it took for me to get over the bloated stomach. After that it got fairly easy to pin point exactly which foods were doing it. All it takes for me is a trace...

ncdave replied to ncdave's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I appericate your idea, but i"m heading a differant direction. How about i stop taking the multi for him 50+ that i been on for 270 days an see if i get better. I got very sick after eating 6 hushpuppies back in nov 2010, i did eat a few fritos about a year ago but seemed any more than 6 chips an i would get sick, so i gave those up also. The only one that says corn free is the zinc. I haven't even taken that yet. I am sicker today than yesterday. I will stop all vitamins till I get better, I can't handle another day like today. -

ARCHIVED I"ve About Had Enough Of This !
ncdave replied to ncdave's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The country life coenzyme B-complex made me feel like i been glutened. Woke up with a terable headache, D, cramps an lots of gas. Does that sound like what 100mg of soy would do? I"ll get tested for vitimans, seems i would need to be off of them for a period before being tested. Is that correct an how long? I"ll continue to add one vitiman a day an... -
I didn"t exactly get over the flu in 3 days, i was just using that number for the cake walk! Mine turned into bronchitis, thats the beginning of a long story.
-
I used to describe how i felt when i had got glutened as feeling like i had the flu. I got the flu winter before last, it was like a 3 day cake walk compaired to being glutened.

Well I"m about to get back to normal over here. My vitimans came yesterday, got started on a couple of those. The B 12 taste like a sweet tart, mmmmmmmmmm i"ll enjoy those. I have not had any butter this past week, been using olive oil instead. To my surprise i don"t miss the butter yet. If an when i do i"ll try the earth balance. I also saw the coconut oil...
