  1. I'm glad it has helped you Beth! It also helped me through my studies abroad. Without it I would have stayed in bed all day, or worst case probably tried to end the suffering. I hope politicians and the people in power can stop being bribed, open their eyes to recent studies and start changing how we treat people. We know so much more now. Reset.me is...
  2. I stumbled across an article while reading. It reminded me of this post and your problem. Open Original Shared Link & Open Original Shared Link
  3. Ok, so here is what I have gathered after reading books written by professional athletes and people who work hard gaining weight ("but she said loose weight?!" Yatta yatta, wait for iit...) I don't focus on fat loss, but weight gaining and muscle building, so please correct me if I am wrong and don't hate! Don't trust anyone blindly and always read up to...
  4. I agree with you on some points, and some I disagree with. I'll agree that they have been banned because people have harmed them selves in the past. I disagree that they did it in the right way. A complete ban is wrong. Stopping studies is wrong. It is neglectful and stupid. We loose a lot of potential medicine and open a world of street drugs. Recent studies...
  5. I agree with cyclinglady on this one. Your body will produce everything except the 11 amino acids that it cannot produce. This is why meats are such a great source of protein, but we don't need to eat as much as most people do. Oviously we can get it from specific plants and other foods like quinoa and so forth (lysine is an example that quinoa is rich off...
  6. It sounds very much like celiacs. How much water do you drink daily? I used to have constant tinnitus, constant pains in my bottom abdominal left side, problems with urination (feeling of always having to pee... for years). The tests can show as negative even though they are positive, but after going through so many tests I am a bit uncertain how to...
  7. Sugar feeds the wrong kinds of bacteria in the gut which is a bad thing. So if you are serious about healing then the professionals suggest that you get off sugar completely until properly healed, but dark honey seems to be ok in moderate amounts.
  8. Dilettantsteph. Let me tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I can tell you have gone through a lot of grief because of these substances. It saddens me so much to hear those stories. It really does. I see why you don't want people to use these substances, but poor attention to use of anything will most likely cause some negative impact on our bodies. One...
  9. I do understand where you are coming from and I do keep that in the back of my head. Trust me, I am a bit scared every time I do these things because you never know how it will turn out, and quite frankly my last experience had its downside at the end where I actually thought I broke myself. I was stuck in a very weird place and felt very confused and lost...
  10. I just asked for non-judgement in hope that people would not just turn away the second they saw it was related to substances. I know a lot of people that won't touch that subject with a 500-foot pole because they are afraid or just have strong beliefs, and usually without any personal experience. Regarding the "hippie" term, yeah I guess it was poorly...
  11. Hi everyone, I have to share something that I have experienced over the past two months. It has been two of the most amazing experiences of my life, and they changed everything. Please please please! Do not be discouraged and stop reading due to the fact that I am writing about altering substances. If you don't know anything about them, then please hold...
  12. I have a list of foods that are ok and foods that can cause problems. It was a part of leaky gut repair program from SCD that I bought... but I feel that it should be free for everyone. Some foods will be ok for some and not for others, but it was made based upon many thousand individual treatments from the SCD guys. Getting healthy shouldn't cost a person...
  13. This here is more to the ones who have been newly diagnosed and feel a bit lost. Gemini made an amazing post, but there are some things I feel were left untouched, which has helped me go through suicidal depression. You will feel a bit lost to begin with, but just stay strong. You WILL get through this and you WILL become healthy! Keep those words in...
  14. I'm also kinda late, but I can relate. After a long long time of doing research I have wrapped my head around how the body works and how to eat properly to get good gains. Let me start off with this. If you think you eat enough then let me ask you this. Do you track your food? If you are serious about putting on weight you have to get serious about it....
  15. Hey guys, It has been a while since the last post, but seeing that nobody has come to any conclusion I figured I'd breathe new life into this thread. I'm also suffering from this horrible itchiness, and I am on a strict elimination diet (fodmap) because I don't seem to get all the way well after years of poor dietary decisions. As some of you mentioned...
  16. Thanks guys, really appreciate all the kind words. Will try to get in contact with some people I haven't been around in a long time that are great. I got a quick appointment at the hospital yesterday after seeing my dietician the day before, and ended up taking a gastroscopy yesterday. Will get results in two weeks! Nikki: Thanks! I have gotten in...
  17. May I ask how long you have been affected by gluten? It can take a long time for your body to recover. If it has gone over a long period, i.e longer than a year then the recovery can be everything from a few months to a year+. For my it has been 9 months and I'm still recovering. Probably another x months before things go back to normal. Just gotta be a trooper...
  18. Hey guys, After having coped with celiacs without a support network since birth I figured it is time to get involved in a community. Help others and get some help myself. I want to keep this brief, but I guess some background history is in order. Had celiacs since 2, cheated diet form age 13-22. Now at 25 I feel like a ghost. Born and raised in Norway...
  19. I think this is very common when you are a celiac. Have struggled with the same thing myself. End up being a complete a$$(#"€ even if I try not to at its worst. Just can't control the body in a proper way. Do you have a very sensitive case of celiacs? Starches will do the same to my body as wheat does to other. It causes and inflammation and makes me f...
  20. I know how it feels. Have had neurological issues+++ on a deeper level while studying abroad for a year and it can be very very scary. It is important to remember that reactions from gluten can come as late as a week or more after ingesting. So it can be a bit hard to pin point what it was that made you sick. Probably a good idea to stay away from everything...
  21. Thanks guys! I guess the only option is 100% raw, organic food and add on one item at a time like mentioned. It is just so incredibly boring to eat food without any additional stuff like sauces etc, but maybe this is a great excuse to get crackin' and learn some basic recipes Takala: I don't buy much gluten-free labelled items and frankly am about...
  22. Hey guys, My name is Jamie and I'm currently 25. I have been contaminated with gluten my whole life, and been suffering in silence without even knowing. I have ended up being on sick leave from previous work up to 4+ months because my body was so broken down, and I got other symptoms from celiacs like: Gluten ataxia, constant head pressure / pains, ...
