It is not necessary to be anemic to have celiac disease. Your doctor is misinformed An immediate reaction is also a commom thing. ARCHIVED Tingly Sensation On Your BackSueC replied to wonkabar's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Tingling could be alot of things. If it due to celiac it is probably vitamin B12 not being absorded. The skin rash could be dh. Get a biopsy. If it is dh you do have celiac and need to start the gluten-free diet. Get your B12 level checked. You might need to get a B12 shot while you heal. Hope you feel better.

ARCHIVED Really Suspicious!SueC replied to jodster's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs Welcome, I didn't have ANY gastric symptoms. Mine were all neurological. Your doctor is misinformed If you had it when you were one you still do! Your kids need to be tested. I have a 4 year old who had no symptoms. I had my kids tested as a screen after my diagnosis, so we found hers early before any problems occured. Behavioral problems are...

ARCHIVED Amy's Gluten-free PizzaSueC replied to Fiddle-Faddle's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I can get it at Kroger and Target for 5.99. I think that is what it costs. Check some other places if they are available to you. Having said that a homemade pizza on chebe pizza crust is not as conveinent as Amy's frozen but it tastes ALOT better. Check out some other spots for Amy's though. I know I don't pay more than 6 dollars.

ARCHIVED Itchy Rash. Is This Related To Celiac Disease?SueC replied to Kelly J.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Yeah it can be celiac related. I have had itchy skin for years. I have several different types of rashes, one of which is dh, and the others I just assume go along with it. Sometimes I will itch and there is no rash at all!! Most of it went away after going gluten-free but my ears still really itch. I get flare ups now and again but it is much better than...

ARCHIVED Newly Tested - Advice?SueC replied to marcia24's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms It is possible to see evidence of celiac during the endoscopy if it is really advanced. There are what is known as scalloping folds in the intestinal wall that is pretty specific of celiac. This is my understanding anyway. My GI doc told me that by looking at by bowel he pretty much knew what the pathologist would tell him.

ARCHIVED Newly Tested - Advice?SueC replied to marcia24's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Blood work is accurate but the endoscopy will tell you for sure. How high were your levels? The endoscopy is no big deal at all! You will be given a mild sedative and won't remember anything. My throat was a little sore afterward but nothing too bad. I was back to work the next day. Don't worry about it. You do need to be eating gluten though so don...

ARCHIVED Need Help With Toddler And Possible Celiac DiseaseSueC replied to sarahjo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms First of all, find a new doctor!!! Anyone that ignores improvement when gluten is eliminated from the diet does not seem very bright...... However if you want an official diagnosis she needs to be eating gluten when testing is done. The alternative is to put her on the diet and if you see improvement as before, I say you have your answer. Sometimes you...
